http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQ-mfRQhC8M nate, i dont know if you went to epcot in the 80s but this is what was in the test track ride before test track. its funny, i use to buy the wdw book, hard cover every year and the attractions that are in the first year book of epcot are no longer there or the same. metlife, comunicor, horizon,gm,seas, land, figment even spaceship earth was changed a few times. comunicore had a show in it and it was "io", who explaned a little how a computer works and how it ran epcot.

Man I sure do miss World of Motion, Also like to ride If You Had Wings over and over when I was little. I hope they build another dark ride with todays technology

I pick DD up from pre-school on Thursday at 3:15 (Central Time). By the time we get home, DW should be home from work and we hope to be on the road by 4:00. We'll have sandwiches packed for dinner and stuff packed in the cooler for breakfast on Friday. We're planning gas/potty stops every 250-300 miles (or when DS or DW say they have to go. DD seems to have an iron bladder :thumbsup2) DW and I will drive in shifts. We'll grab lunch to go at one of the gas stops and hope to be pulling into Grandma & Grandpa's house in Lakeland sometime Friday afternoon.
Last time we made the 1260 mile trip in 22 hours. Cross your fingers for a favorable tail wind...:cool2:

If you are going through Chicago, I'll wave from the train. I'm usually on the METRA train going by 90/94 aroung 5:15, about the time you should be coming through (given traffic).

wow, i dont recall the pink powder soap! (shows you how much an 8 year old washed his hands :lmao:)

Yeah...I went to EPCOT like the second year it was open. I remember the World of Motion...I remember the Land Boat ride had live tour guides...and I actually like Figment (nerve-rackin little purple demon). I remember Body Wars...I guess the Living Sea was what I remembered most. Epcot didn't hold alllot of apeal to me

Watch a video of Horizons and you'll hear the "Great Big Beautifull Tomorrow" song.

i didnt remember "great big" in horizons till i reed on the internet tuesday while looking for something to do. i remember epcot being empty when it first opened.

i like watching the old movies of the older rides on you tube. some are not bad considering the cameras they had back then.

I remember 20,000 leagues under the sea. My family went when I was in 2nd grade and I remember riding it. When my wife and I went back for the first time as adults several years ago I started to think I was crazy because I couldn't find it. I knew it was back where Pooh's playful spot and Ariel's grotto were, but it wasn't there. This, of course, was before the days of keeping up with all the latest Disney news, rumors, and attraction closings on the Internet. How in the heck did we ever plan a vacation without the Internet? :confused3

We'll be in the red minivan. If I see a METRA driving by, I'll open the sunroof and shoot a wave back. :wave2:

Subbing - been away for a while due to work and medical issues - never realized a 3rd "thread" had been started. :)

ok guys sitting here with nothing to do waiting for my wife to get home from work and was wondering.Who is the most famous person you have seen in Disney?
I have seen President Carter. As a matter of fact believe it or not I shared a restroom with him( and yes he washed his hands) lol.Could not believe how relaxed the secret service was.I even got a pic of him walking through the park and in the pic you cant see the secret service. But then again most people didn't even notice him. lol
Well he is the most famous I saw.
Now my wife was at the same hotel as Shaq Oneil when he was drafted by the Magic and she has pics of him.
Waiting to hear some stories of your famous meetings

McLean Stevenson aka Colonel Henry Blake from MASH. Loved that show! He was doing an appearance at MK and was standing next to a flower garden. I was looking through an old video camera eyepiece and videoed the scenery. Only when I put the camera down did I see him. Didn't get the camera back up in time to get a photo. Clueless!

Deep Roy aka the one and only Oompa Loompa from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I saw him walking with a bunch of suits in Epcot one day. They were going somewhere in a hurry and weren't interested in meeting fans.

OMG! Pink powder soap! HAHA! I totally forgot about that stuff! All gritty... felt like you were preparing your hands for a good paint job or something! :lmao::lmao:

Well, we have one or two enroute....

And I miss 20,000 Leagues under the Sea---that's a lot of "dormant" space out there.

Chuck is Jumping off my Monitor...with an important message...
