Wow, first trip! We took our oldest son for the first time when he was about 2 and a half. We went in February so the crowds were small. We let him toddle along for most of the first part of the day. When something caught his interest (ragtime band, barber shop quartet, Disney characters) we would stop and let him enjoy until he was ready to move on.
We had a stroller for later on as he got tired of walking, but he had a great time, and it was nice seeing Disney again through his eyes and at a slower pace. Watching his enjoyment made me enjoy it even more.
BTW, I have a BSEE that I put to use when I'm not doing my most important job of Disney(and)Dad!

Depending on the amount of cheeseballs Barry ate he may look like a Oumppa Louppa by now![]()
well, today is our 25th aniv.!!!! i cant believe it was 25 years ago.
So, in order to keep up, i need to spend pretty much all day on this board, don't I?
Well, it's settled back to the Animal Kingdom Lodge at the end of May!!!![]()
It says "squeat"...Tennessean/Southern for "Let's go eat."
For the past 3-4 days my Jaw has been locked in a semi-closed state due to some TMJ issues...could barely fit the tip of my finger in.
It popped back into place today...so I can actually eat something.![]()
New to the DIS. Glad to see that there is a place for like-minded fathers to hang!

Jaw Locking TMJ this bad???
Only happened once about 12 years ago....have had on/off issues about once every 6 months since...prior to that...just a very small bite.
WDC isn't WDW...but need to take the kids there at least this once...just hope we don't get mugged by a politician.![]()
I am really excited to see how she takes it all in. I have already accepted that this is not going to be like the trips that my wife and I usually take. Who knows... I may even come to enjoy the mid-day naps at the resort
I'm still debating on the stroller thing. Did you find it very easy to keep up with it after rides and navigate around the parks?
I have no idea how I missed your entrance here! Welcome to the clubYou are member # 430!

We rented the stroller first thing at the entrance to the MK. It is a little more expensive, but if you leave it to go in a show or on a ride, and it disappears, you just go tell them and they give you a new one. It spent the first part of the day carrying all our "stuff," the middle part of the day pushing DS around, and at the end of the day, when he finally crashed, it got us back to the gate so we could head out while he slept. No real problems at all since the crowds were lower, which I guess is what you will experience too.
I know that her little legs cannot walk the parks all day. And I don't think that I would be able to carry her for the rest of the day. So this might be the way to go

Visit #49...![]()
We brought our own little umbrella stroller with us for our kids, and it worked fine. Of course, we were there in September, so we weren't dealing with heavy crowds. But you're right, a 3-year-old won't be able to walk all day, and you won't be able to carry her. We never had an issue with our stroller "disappearing".
