The did we do anything but eat on this trip deluxe dining report! Aug 12-21

Hey it was the Flying Fish's loss! I was actually kinda glad after all I mean ESPN was awesome from the kid at the door to the girl that sold us the Pittsburgh Steeler hat when we left, so it was all good!

So after getting back from ESPN and all the rain we got to the hotel showered and got in our jammies....then we all got a second wind and tried all those yummy dessert we brought back......that was kinda a mistake!

We all woke up still stuffed and we had breakfast ressie at Chef Mickey's and my DS wasnt about to let it go by. Chef Mickey's was something he was looking forward to so we all trudged along and went to our ADR at Chef Mickey's!

Again these meals are always crazy, you get seated and here comes character's and your trying to run up and get a plate, well you know how it is.

Well this morning was of course no different, other than we werent really hungry.....so when I looked back I only had 2 food pictures, a ton of characters pics though and thats why we were there!

But here is what I do have, this was my plate

I love Croissants and these were tasty with the Strawberry&Cream Cheese mixture they have, even stuffed these were yummy. I also has some Cottage Cheese and bacon!

and then this one.....

I am not even sure who's plate this is....I'm guessing my DSIL since she was beside me and I was the one who took all the Character Pic's!

We did have an aweful waiter here.....No matter when we spoke to him he was always looking somewhere else, like he was more concered about what was going on around him, also when making the ADR I was sure to add my DS's Birthday here, now I know he wanted to celebrate in the Castle and we did, but this was always his favorite Character meal so I added his B-day here. When we checked in the lady says "5 Adults & 1 Child w/ a Birthday" yep that us. Well we got passed by, the B-day celebration starts and no place-mat, no acknowledge, nothing so I wave over "Mr. I'm really to busy elsewhere to care" he looks at me shakes his head and walks away? What?? Hence me wanting to trip him, I didnt but the thought was there!

It was irratating to say the least, my little guy didnt say anything, so I left it go. It was our worst trip ever to Chef Mickey's we werent really hungry and the what we went for was lacking, we always had a good time there, oh the Characters also seemed to be in a rush...I guess it was just an off morning.

So we left there and headed to DownTown Disney for the some shopping and treat getting!!!

Goofy's Candy Company, one word Yum-O I cant believe we never had these little gems before, but thanks to the Dis Boards we did!

So we found a little table in the back, made out our treat slip and had a major sugar rush!
My DM got this and was in heaven, Rice Krispy Mickey dipped in Milk Chocolate and Drizzled with Caramel! oh and by the way we all got the same treats to go....even though we didnt eat all the first one, we felt a back up was in order for later, the next day, the trip home whatever!

This one was my DS It was the Gingerbread Mickey with Milk Chocolate and rolled in Butterfingers, he loved it!

My DSIL has the Pretzels dipped Milk Chocolate drizzled in White Chocolate and rolled in M&M's

Now my DH did actally eat all of his treat, the Fudge Cookie with Vanilla center dipped in Milk Chocolate and rolled in Butterfingers and Drizzled with Caramel...and yes he ate it all, at one time! Oh and he got two to go, done the same but one with Chocolate Fudge in the middle. Yes he has a sweet tooth!

I had the Pretzels dipped in Milk Chocolate rolled in Pecans and Drizzled with Caramel....mmmmmm so good

My DN went back to the hotel to take a snooze instead of shop (silly boy) so I had got a Mickey Rice Crispy I wanted it Dipped in Milk Chocolate, rolled in Butterfingers and then Drizzled with Caramel well I marked the wrong box and it got rolled in Peanut Butter cups, not my cup of tea so I took it back for DN and he was happy!

We also enjoyed the slushie drinks here, yes we did have some major sugar rushes going on, but nearing the end of a 10 day trip it was a good pick me up!

We will make it back to Goofy's no doubt a great deal for a snack credit and we had a few to use and this was a perfect place to do it!
Chef Mickey's I dont know, it was always fun and this time was lacking in that department. The food we did have was just ok, so those added up mean a return trip next time is up in the air?

Later I will add Liberty Tree Tavern and the Pluto incendent!

I am loving your reviews. I can't believe the Flying Fish's response to everyone being wet. Your ESPNZone experience shows how it should have been handled. I don't know when our next trip will be but I have wanted to try Boma's for Breakfast since MickiNicki's photos in the spring. You photos have made that desire even stronger. I also agree that the Goofy's treats look so good.

Add me to the "I cannot believe FF" chorus. I was there last week with ADRs for Cali Grill (Thursday, 8/21 I think). By the time we finally got there after sloshing through the downpour and the ankle-deep puddle in front of MK (not an exaggeration..my friend's shoe floated away!!), my pants were soaked from knee-down and I had no issues. I am glad ESPN made up for it.

So after after a fun filled day of this and that we had dinner set for The Liberty Tree Tavern!

We had been here on our previous trip before the MNSSHP and really enjoyed the Characters and the Food! So went knowing what to except but it was new for DSIL & DN who had never been.

Our waitress was wonderful, she was a busy girl but always smiling and just great! The Food also was very good, I know sometimes this place gets slammed in reviews but yet again we thought it was yummy!

So here is what we started with
The rolls & butter here are soooo good as is the salad!

and then the veggies, also good but when you have all the other stuff who really eats the veggies!

and the ever famous Mac-n-Cheese

and my favorite the Mashed & Gravy mmmm i love these!

and the main course, also yummy!

Now i like this Character dinner (sad its leaving) because they bring the food to you, no running up to the buffets in between characters and running back so you dont miss the shot but hey thats just me!
So anyway my DS had to buy a new autograph book while on this trip as is other had started to overflow. So this one just had a few pages filled, so you know how even when you flip to a page the book wont stay open there cause its new...(I hope that made sense) ok so my DS had his book open and ready for Pluto, so he (Pluto) comes around to the table and stops for a picture and then takes the book, which had of course shut, and when DS opened it back up he handed it to Pluto he had opened it to a page that said you guessed it Pluto.
So at this point Pluto backs up and shakes his finger at DS like shame, shame, shame and shakes his head no at him!
So I tell Pluto, "no, no Pluto thats not from tonight that was from earlier when we seen you at Chef Mickeys for breakfast, remember"? you know what he did, took the book laid it on the table and shook his finger at me and walked away!! I looked at my hubby and did the "Oh No He Didnt" I was so ready kick that dogs butt it wasnt funny!

Really I couldnt believe that, and then the worse part was my DS's feelings were hurt, and I thought if he even cries I'm so gonna be on You-Tube kicking Pluto's Butt!!!
But thankfully Minnie saved the day, as we are making excuses for that darn dog Minnie comes over and points to DS who's head is kinda down on the table and I give her a quick low-down on what just happened and

Minnie saved the day, she was flirting with Ds and just all over him trying to make him feel better, it was really nice! I am so glad she did, really I think she saved what could have turned ugly quick, into something funny we could joke about...wheww...I'm still mad at that darn dog!!

Oh and let us not forget dessert!

It was good but we were really full, but we managed to put a dent in it!

All in all we did really like (with the Pluto exception) Liberty Tree Tavern and since it will be changed I dont know if we will go back, I guess we will have to wait and see on this one!

Up next our last day and the lunch that got changed 3 times!
