The did we do anything but eat on this trip deluxe dining report! Aug 12-21

Thanks everyone, glad ya like them! :goodvibes

So on day 6 it was all starting to catch up with us so the night before my son says, "can we sleep in tomorrow" well I didnt want another meltdown and we all agreed that some extra sleep would be nice!

Now all the while DS knew we were gonna miss our Breakfast at O'hana with stitch, and when he said "thats ok" I knew he must have needed a little break!:umbrella: we had been dodging rain off and on at this point, so a nice long morning will do us all good.

That said by the time we were up and out we were starving! So we headed to Columbia Harbor House in Magic Kingdom, now because we were all hungry you guessed it, no pics:sad2: we thought of it when we were done BUT i do remember what we had to eat!:thumbsup2
I always like eating lunch here and this time was no different! DS had the Kids Chicken Salad, he was thrilled to see this, he loves chicken salads! So he was a happy camper and thankfully the Ranch dressing here wasnt the same they serve at Mama Melsrosa's! We did use a snack credit here and get him a chocolate chip cookie for his dessert, as he dosent like pudding or applesauce and was already getting grapes with his salad, he ate the cookie first (hey its vacation) and said mmmmmmm! Oh and his salad got a thumbs up as well!

My DM, DN & DSIL all had the Anchors Away Tuna Sandwich, which they all deemed very good:thumbsup2

Me & DH had a platter that had both chicken and fish on it, with fries. Again we liked our meals as well, and we both like to add the vinager on the fries, I think thats one reason we like this place so much!
We (the adults) all had the Apple Crisp for dessert, and well it was really, really dry it needed some vanilla ice cream!:rotfl:

Cokes to go around, and we found a seat fairly quickly! Would we go back? Most likely ths one of our favorite counter service stops!:goodvibes

So tonights dinner has going to the Castle and Cinderella's Royal Table!

Now I had never even attempted to get a ressie here, I just didnt think my DS would want to eat with a princess! Again, mommy was Wrong! On our last trip he says "I want to eat in there someday" so like any good mommy(who has wanted to eat there as well) made sure that this was the first ADR she tried to get for this trip!

We were celebrating my DS birthday here :cake: and i am really glad we chose here to do it, he really liked it and loved getting a sword! Just eating here gave me a feeling of pixiedust:
Here is DS's Birthday Cake
disneytripwithbrad283.jpg

Now before I start can I just ask, has anyone ever ate here and got the creepy guy as your waiter? and by creepy here is what I mean...He was very nice he came over and nicely explained how everything worked, wished my son a Happy Birthday and collected drink orders...turned to walk away and leaned back into the table and went "He, He, He" ????? Now I dont mean happy, gigglie ha,ha,ha I mean more like a deep long drawed out he,he,he!!

Now at first we all just thought oooookaaayyyy what was that?!? and left it at that.
UNTIL he brought back drinks, took orders, stepped away and BAM right back with He, He, He. So now I am like.... WTH is with that!!
He did it EVERY single time he came to the table, C R E E P Y !!! :scared: I mean dude really, it wasnt funny the first time and after the 10th time we were all like "yeah, yeah ha, ha, ha we know, we know! so Revenge of the Nerds waiter aside here is our appy pics

This was mine and my DSIL it is the BLT salad, very good, crisp, cold and tasty the way a salad should be!
disneytripwithbrad287.jpg

My DH also had salad but he chose the Castle salad, he loves blue cheese so with that being atopping on this one, for him it was a no brainer! He really enjoyed it also!
disneytripwithbrad285.jpg

my DM had the Corn & Crab Soup now this is something I wouldnt think I would like but I tred a bite (or 2) and wow it was really, really good! My DM liked it as well
disneytripwithbrad286.jpg

DS had the Chicken Noodle with his cake, yes he was enjoying them at the same time, but hey whatever its his vacation too!
disneytripwithbrad288.jpg

The only let down here was DN appy, he had the Vegetable Spring Roll, he ate it but wasnt thrilled with it, and said he wouldnt order it again.
disneytripwithbrad284.jpg

So now on to dinners
My DS had the Chicken Nuggets w/ mashed and veggie, and no if your wondering he didnt eat the veggie, saying he was to full from the cake!
disneytripwithbrad295.jpg

Me and DH had the Roasted Lamb Chops, these were very good and the herb pesto that was drilled over the dish, mmm and the potatos were tasty as well
disneytripwithbrad292.jpg

DN had the Cheese Tortellini, he also enjoyed his dinner
disneytripwithbrad294.jpg

Now my DM and DSIL both had the Prime Rib they came out and my mom's looked wonderful and she said it was, then you get my SIL ordering it "Very Well Done" eweeee it looked like....well shrivled up Prime Rib! She stated that "some of its tough" ya think?? For some reason the picture of DSIL Prime Rib is so dark you cant even make out what it is, but trust me its better left unseen! but here is DM
disneytripwithbrad293.jpg

It was time for dessert and DS (who had no room for veggies) found room for
disneytripwithbrad304.jpg

My DM had the Poached Pear on Angle Food Cake w/ Mango Sorbet and said it was her favorite desset of the trip
disneytripwithbrad307.jpg

The rest of us had the Chocolate Cream Cheese Buckle with chocolate ice cream, it was strong....I mean like :hyper: strong, wow this could make you bounce off walls!
disneytripwithbrad305.jpg

Overall we really enjoyed our dinners here. Eating in the castle i would say is something you should do at least once, just to say "yeah there's the castle I was in there" Oh and the pictures before hand very nice and the fact that they are included, all the better!
Now we could have so done without, Revenge of the Nerds Waiter, he was strange, creepy strange. But we all would go back. I think next time we will try Breakfast or Lunch just for something different!

Alright so tomorrow finds us in MGM or Disney Studios whatever you want to call it!
We have lunch at the Sci Fi and Dinner at 50's Prime Time

Dinner in the castle looked really good! Glad your DS had a good birthday there. We did lunch with the princesses two years ago and really enjoyed the menu. I think the blueberry buckle with lemon sorbet (ice cream? something) was my favorite!

Glad to know not to order my prime rib well done anywhere!

Thanks again guys, I'm glad you are enjoying them!:goodvibes

So next up takes to Sci Fi, we went here for the first time on our last trip and my son thought it was great, now we had dinner and it was so-so but my DS really wanted to go back so I thought well then lets try lunch!;)

We had another Hit!! we all liked our meals, service was good and its nice just to be in there:thumbsup2
So first up DSIL had 7 Bean Beef Chili, she liked it but I believe she thought it was a little spicy
disneytripwithbrad322.jpg

My DN had the BLT Soup
disneytripwithbrad323.jpg

Hubby had the Onion Rings
disneytripwithbrad324.jpg

and my mom and I had the Spinach Dip, this is my son's favorite appy ever. No matter where we go if this on the menu he gets it and half the time is all he will eat. It was really good!
disneytripwithbrad325.jpg

Now my son wanted a turkey sandwich so my mom and him switched meals, she got his burger, salad and fruit and he had the spinach dip, turkey sandwich & fries...you know its all about keep the wee one happy!
disneytripwithbrad326.jpg

and the turkey sandwich was also lunch for DN
disneytripwithbrad327.jpg

Me, Dh & DSIL all went for the Bacon Burger
disneytripwithbrad328.jpg

No complaints from anyone, everybody enjoyed there meals and Lunch was 100% better here than dinner!:thumbsup2

Desserts were simple we all had Milkshakes, Vanilla & Chocolate
disneytripwithbrad331.jpg

disneytripwithbrad332.jpg

oh but my DN had the Chocolate Tart, again he said it was tasty!
disneytripwithbrad330.jpg

If returning, and we will most likely, to the Sci Fi we would go for lunch, hands down!:)

I'll be back soon to add 50's Prime Time Dinner

Thanks for the great reviews!

Looking forward to your 50sPTD as we are having dinner there in December!

Alrighty gang here is our dinner at The 50's Prime Time Cafe

Now this is a place you want to like, sounds like fun, home cooked type meals whats not to love right?.......well not for us. Unfortunatly our waitress made us leave with a sour taste about the 50's cafe.

At first she was great in to her part, joking having fun and so on. But she seemed to like the other better, it seemed we were her only table in the room we were in and the other room appereared to be all her's. No biggie, until you leave us sit, sit and sit some more after we have asked for something.
First up we had drinks, but she had taken so long to come back and get our order that basically every glass was empty upon her return. Now I know the whole acting thing to go here and I get that BUT while she is explaining the dinner(and there faves are always the most expennsive) she starts to bad the Meatloaf and something else, going now out of character and saying things like "no I mean it I wouldnt order those they are terriable, unless you want to take it for you dog" and on and on.
Ok first why do that, say your favorite dish and move on, it so happened that the two she "hated" were the 2 cheapest dinners on the menu??
The other problem my son had said he wanted the...you guessed Kids Meatloaf! So now I am getting the, what should I do now mommy look, after she had him scared of the flipping Meatloaf! So my DN says "its ok I am getting Meatloaf too, so DS says ok thats what he wants......that burned my butt though...
So here our the appy's
DS ordered the Kids Tossed Salad and traded it for the Shrimp Cocktail with my DSIL
disneytripwithbrad342.jpg

and the Shrimp Cocktail
disneytripwithbrad341.jpg

Now I ordered the Onion Rings and they were good but really greasy
disneytripwithbrad344.jpg

my DH,DM and DN all had the Crabcake and said it was really good!
disneytripwithbrad343.jpg

So we got our appys and no drinks, so after asking yet again and waiting yet again she finally brought us another round of drinks. The the Main Dishes Came out
My DS Meatloaf with Mashed
disneytripwithbrad348.jpg

and my DN Meatloaf which by the way they both loved and cleaned there plates!
disneytripwithbrad349.jpg

My DSIL had the Pot Roast and she said it was alright, not great but not bad
disneytripwithbrad347.jpg

Me and my DM had the Fried Chicken again really tasty but it too was really greasy, now I know its fried chicken but it just seemed really greasy and I know my fried chicken!
disneytripwithbrad346.jpg

and then you get my hubby he order Tuna Noodle Cassarole, never in a million years would he eat this at home, never! He ate it here and deemed it good, but after all the razzing I gave him he would have ate it even it if tasted like dirt and told me he liked it!
disneytripwithbrad345.jpg

So then we move on to desserts, now folks let me tell ya we were in this resteraunt far to long....again she would bop out to our table try and be funny then *poof* gone and we wouldnt see her, could hear her but she basically left us hanging
So we ordered dessert and she looks at the glasses and says "more drinks too?" as she is walking away, um yeah and we need silverware, she keeps walking, and we say again "and silverware"
By now we are all getting mad we have sat way to long waiting....she dropped off drinks, now we all had some still left except DN guess who she didnt bring a drink for...yep DN and no silverware
Brings desserts, no silverware
Me & DSIL had Smores
disneytripwithbrad361.jpg

they were ok, and yes we started to pick at them with our fingers

my DM, DH & DN all had the Dad's Sundae
disneytripwithbrad362.jpg

and my DS had a chocolate sundae
disneytripwithbrad363.jpg

I had to get up and get the hostess to get us silverware. After trying to get the bill, Myself, DSIL, DM & DS walked outside leaving my hubby and DN in there to deal with her. :rolleyes1

So overall the meals were ok, not bad or great but the service was just bad, bad, bad. I mean I get the whole acting thing and its fun no doubt but when you are acting dont forget to waitress.:sad2:
Would we go back, well no time soon I am sure. I am a past waitress so I am pretty forgiving in this field but this one might take a while.

So that bad experience behind us we move on to a whatever day and
Lunch at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and what was to be The Flying Fish turned into the ESPN Club for dinner, stayed tuned to see why!:goodvibes

Sorry to hear you had such bad service at 50's Prime Time. The servers are half of the the experience.

I actually have been "meh" on Sci-Fi but your pics have me thinking of trying again. My DM is big on "seeing" her food so those dark restaurants like Sci-Fi and San Angel Inn have been missed over the past several years. Maybe I can convince a lunch try?

Looking forward to the rest of your reviews.

my SIL too a little flashlite for the Sci Fi, she remembered from the year before how dark it was.;)

Well I cant sleep so how about some Whispering Canyon Reviews!

We enjoyed this place on our last trip, but my mom was sick the day we went so I wanted to go back so she could join in the fun!

Thank godness we had a good waiter after the night before I was little scared, but he was great!
My son is kinda shy so he never wants to get up in front of people but here he will...who knows why but he did last year and again this year! Our waiter asked me if we were celebrating DS birthday on this trip, I said yes we did at the castle, he said well "Castle Smashel we will show ya how to do it right" so he took my DS out to do the pony race and after it was done he had the resturant sing Happy Birthday to him! It was really nice and DS thought it was pretty cool!:thumbsup2
So here are the appys
DS had the Watermelon, his favorite fruit so this was a no brainer for him!
disneytripwithbrad368.jpg

I had the Southwest Chicken Soup, and yummy! Creamy, thick and a little spicy!
disneytripwithbrad371.jpg

DM & DN had the Sausage and Cheese plate and they both enjoyed it
disneytripwithbrad370.jpg

and hubby and my SIL both had the Nacho's, these were yummy as I stole a couple!
disneytripwithbrad369.jpg

These were all big appys, so go here hungry. I mean we never went anywhere that we didnt leave full but man the food here just seemed extra big for some reason!
Me, DS, DH and DN all had the Skillet, all good! DH & DN liked the ribs DS & I liked the taters and Sausage
disneytripwithbrad383.jpg

oh and here is the cornbread
disneytripwithbrad384.jpg

DSIL had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, she liked this alot!
disneytripwithbrad382.jpg

and DM had the Smoke House Stacked Sandwich, a big Yum-O for this one, mmm this was good, cause you know I had to taste it. I just kept thinking I need to taste it for my friends on the Dis!!:thumbsup2
disneytripwithbrad381.jpg

So now for dessert we were stuffed but it was raining out and we thought oh why not!
So I chose the Cinnamon Tortilla with Ice Cream bananas and caramel O M G wow was this good, it was so good next time I want it first!
disneytripwithbrad388.jpg

DM had the Apple Caramel Pie another winner
disneytripwithbrad387.jpg

DH, DSIL & DN all had the Smores Cheesecake again all declaring mmm, mmm, mmm!!
disneytripwithbrad386.jpg

and my son was thrilled to have Worms and Dirt!:lovestruc
disneytripwithbrad385.jpg

My DS, DH and DN all had Bottemless Milkshakes for there drinks, they all loved them!

We really like it here, we have done Lunch and Dinner so maybe we will give breakfast a try next time, who knows but I'm sure we will be back!:cool1:

Thanks for the reviews - Yachtsman Steakhouse looked fab, as did Whispering Canyon :thumbsup2

We'll be there in a few weeks. Going to WCC for my bday. Those nachos look awesome! Thanks for the review.:thumbsup2

You guys are so welcome! have fun on all the upcoming trips:goodvibes

Ok so on our 8th day we had WCC for Lunch but this was the day that the rain was coming, and when it rained it rained.

So we spent part of the day at AK, we were to go to the Flying Fish for dinner this evening so our plan was before we get any wetter, get out of dodge and head to the Boardwalk...wrong...we got caught in one nasty, wicked blowing rain storm!

So we got the Boardwalk and head to the Flying Fish, as soon as we got off the bus the rain slowed somewhat, but that said we were dripping wet. Trying our best to dry up a little we entered the Flying Fish, and I go to the check in girl and say "I know we are soaked but we just got caught in that storm it that ok" she glances at everyone and says "sure, there is no way around the rain today"
So we were waiting off to the side and a man approaches(I'll call him Valantino) with two shirts and says to me "the gentalmen must change" now I know there is a dress code and I was also well aware of what everyone had on, it was wet but no swim suits no tank tops, so I asked him why "they need to change" now I'm a little peeved thinking "buddy everyone is wet today" my nephew, who is a big guy, says is this suppose to be for me? Valantino dosent answer and again looks at me and says "well look" kinda looking at my DH & DN, at this point DN took a shirt off the guy and says "you really think this will fit me" it was an extra large and my DN needed something bigger and of course I am not being rude but you knew he would not wear a extra large, so that was it I grabbed the shirt handed them back "valantino" and said you know what we will go elsewhere, and he was shocked....he stuttered out "what...why" I just walked away:confused:

Again I know the dress code and when we calmed down other than being completly soaked they honestly looked fine, but not fine enough apparently for them :confused3
The guy was just rude and had a nasty tone which wasnt called for. I hope when he left work the wind outside blew him over!

Ok, ok so we go out of the FF and again its down pouring, so we figured we would try the ESPN club, we had been there about 10 years ago and liked it, it was pouring and we were there, so off we went!

I walked in to see if they had anything, and the sweet guy at the door say's "how are you" a liitle wet I say he offers me a towel and towels for everyone with me. Now that my friends was service, my mom is in a wheelchair and he was concered for her if she needed to get up and dry off or what he could do to help.
Now we did have rain ponchos on but this day it did not matter, it was a driving rain with wind blowing yeah it was nasty. Anyway they told us they would get us seated in just a few minutes, and they did!

Let me tell ya we had the best waitress of the trip here, nice, personable and on her game! So to start things out my son lookes at the kid menu and dosent want anything on there, he wants a chicken sandwich, so when the waitress comes back we tell "ya we are on the DDDP but DS want a chicken sandwich so we will just buy it seperatly, so she says hold on.
Now I dont want to start an uproar or get anyone in trouble but she came back and said (she knew this because we talking to her about it) "since you guys have so many credits my manager says he would run another Adult Credit on a seperate slip for your son if you want him to" again weather it was right, wrong or indifferent they offered and we accepted!
So here is what we had
DS thought he was a big shot ordering from our menu he got the Sideline Fries
disneytripwithbrad412.jpg

DSIL & I had the Mucho Nachos these buggers were tasty!
disneytripwithbrad417.jpg

My DM had the Clam Chowder and said it was just what she needed to warm her up!
disneytripwithbrad415.jpg

DN had the Teriyaki Wings and said "finger lickin good!
disneytripwithbrad411.jpg

DH had the Hot Wings, and yes they were HOT!
disneytripwithbrad416.jpg

All the appys were a hit, my DS loved the dipping sauces that his fries came with and I love the jalepenos on the nachos, mmm!

So dinners of course as you know my son had a Chicken Sandwich done his way, just cheese, lettuce & ranch dressing...he was a happy camper!
disneytripwithbrad418.jpg

My DM, DN & DH all had the Upper Deck Hot Roast Beef Sandwich it got big thumbs up all the way around!
disneytripwithbrad421.jpg

My DSIL had the Extream Ruben Sandwich, this her favorite sandwich and said this one was really good, and she should know!
disneytripwithbrad419.jpg

I had the Chamionship Chicken Sandwich, the sun-dried pesto made this sandwich awesome, very good!
disneytripwithbrad420.jpg

Now we were all stuffed, it was still raining buckets, we were tired so we think no desserts, but she asked "want to take them along for later?" well of course we do! So they got our desserts ready to go, called us a cab for up at the Boardwalk and we were on our way!
This turned into a great night, who knew the ESPN Club would be a shining star of our Dining Reviews, the food was really very good but when service goes above and beyond to help out, that what Disney to me is all about! Oh that and we did manage to get my brother the brand new Pittsburgh Steeler Hat!
Oh, oh, oh our desserts now here is a MESSY FOOD WARNING** these baby went through alot so take that into consideration when looking at these "um messy but yummy desserts"
DN & DS had the Pinapple-Carrot Cake Upside down thing. (sorry these dessert arent listed on allears:confused3) they liked these
disneytripwithbrad425.jpg

My hubby had some kind of Rocky Road type cake, to which he said "oh yeah thats goooood!
disneytripwithbrad422.jpg

My poor dear mom's dessert to a beating as it was some kind of Chocolate-Banana Cream Pie. It looks like it got flipped around a few times!
disneytripwithbrad423.jpg

it was yummy none the less

and I had these little gems, yet another O M G dessert, dang these were good! They were called Cookie Pretzels w/ Dipping Sauce. The sauces were a Cup of Chocolate & Peanut Butter, they got covered with the sauce on the trip back but still so Yummy!!:lovestruc
disneytripwithbrad424.jpg

Would we go back, another in a heartbeat, yes we would!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Tomorrow finds us at Chef Mickey's & Liberty Tree Tavern I wanted to trip a waiter & *gasp* slap Pluto...check back here to see why!:goodvibes

Great update, sorry you didn't get to eat at Flying fish but ESPN looks like it was a great substitute!

Wow, that was really rude at Flying Fish. In that kind of weather, what can they expect. Time to relax a bit!!

Glad you enjoyed ESPN, looks really good!

great reviews!!! we are doing DXDDP in October. What's the dress code for Flying Fish? We are eating there too. Is it just like Cali Grille? We ate there last trip and my husband just wore khaki's and a polo shirt.
