Nick seems much better this morning - still a little warm - but he actually wanted to get out of bed and is tormenting his sister ;)
lol...that's how you know they are feeling better.

Good Morning Everybody;

Sorry I haven't been around lately, I have missed you guys SO MUCH!!!!

I am getting ready for Kyle's First Communion on Sunday, luckily the party is at my in-laws house but I still have a ton to do!!! I am right now as we speak in the middle of boiling eggs for deviled eggs, and potato salad, wish me luck!!! I have used all of your advice on how to make the "perfect" boiled egg and hopefully it will work!!!

Cody's care has been monumental!!! I could have never imagined all that we would have to do for him, it's like having another child!!!! He tore the top layer of sutures out over the weekend and we had to get those re-sutured again now we are back to square one as far as how long the stitches will have to be in for, he has to wear one of those hoods that looks like a lampshade 24/7 that is SUCH a pain, he has MANY meds. that we have to give him, and we are supposed to be giving him showers twice a day because he has developed a staff infection. On top of that I think he is depressed, he is SO mopey and he wants to get out of our room SO bad, we had to section off an area for him and put down lots of towels and sheets because he is still bleeding and draining a lot!!! Thanks for all of your well wishes and hopefully this recovery process will get better and he will be back to normal SOON!!!

Last night I took Carli to the pet store to get a hamster, she missed the one that we were watching for Kyle's class SO much!!!! She seems to do very well having a pet of her own, we made her sign a contract agreeing to take care of it , and do her chores around the house, and most importantly stay in her bed all night, this last one is SUCH an issue w/ her and I think having an animal in her room helps her sleep better!!! We'll see!!! She named her Maya Minnie Honey, but she decided that her nickname will be Cinderella :lmao: !!! The hamster is a baby teddy bear hamster and she is actually very cute!!!

I'm sure some of you all know this, but I had to cancel my trip w/ the DDA to Disney World!!! I was extremely depressed about this this week, I was SO looking forward to going and meeting everybody!!! I have never had a trip away from my kids before, and I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to getting away and having some fun with friends!!! Sadly though it just wasn't meant to be, after all that we paid in the last few weeks for Cody, and for this party this weekend, I just couldn't go in good conscience. It was becoming a MAJOR issue w/ Dave and I, Dave said I would have to choose between this trip and our families trip in December, obviously I had to choose the family trip. Hopefully in the future there will be another trip to go on w/ everybody!!! Thanks to all of you guys going on the trip for including me in your plans and also for understanding why I had to cancel, I hope I didn't mess up any of your plans and I know that you all will have SUCH a GREAT TRIP!!!

When I cancelled the airfare I couldn't get a refund but a credit towards another flight, so I went ahead and booked our airfare for December :woohoo: , so at least I have that to look forward to!!!!

I will let you all know how the party and everything works out, and I promise to get back to posting regularly next week once everything settles down!!!

:wizard: To anybody that needs it!!!!
:grouphug: To everyone else that may need it!!!!

Unfortunately I haven't been able to keep up to speed w/ everything that has been going on, so if I need to know anything let me know or PM me!!!

Julie

Julie -

Here's some :wizard: and:grouphug:. Congatulations to Kyle. I'm sure he and all of you are so excited. :wizard: for Cody that he heals quickly. It is so hard to keep an animal quiet.

Don't forget, there is still the DC meet in July if you can make that!

Julie -- :grouphug: to you for the DDA trip, Cody's care, and the party. Congrats to Kyle -- I know he will have a fantastic party because he has a mother that has worked hard to plan it! Our compound dog had his ACL fixed 8 weeks ago. He's part wolf, part husky. He has been moping the entire time! I don't have any good advice, other than to say hang in there!

I just wanted to let you all know that I just got off the phone with Denise

Rees is in recovery and doing well. The endoscopy indicated that everything looked good - and now they will have to monitor the probe for the next 48 hours - either Denise or John will have to be awake and with Rees for the entire weekend - so Denise might be looking for some company in the middle of the night!

Denise sounded great and we even chatted for a bit! She is so grateful for everyone's well wishes and will pop in when she gets a chance!

Thanks for the update Kate. When you said the endoscopy looked good, does that mean they think he might not need the surgery to repair his fundo?

Julie - I know how you feel about missing the trip. I really wanted to do the DDA Disney and DDA DC trip but just can't swing it financially. Plus the Disney trip is the same weekend as my cousin's "post wedding" reception. Good Luck getting all your errands for the weekend completed and taking good care of the dog :thumbsup2

Kate - Thanks for the update on Rees. I know this has really been weighing heavy on Denise so I am glad she is one step closer to having it behind her.

By the way........how is Nick today and how was your evening??

I am not sure about that - I started to ask her but my kids are running around and I got distracted -

I am pretty sure it all depends on the probe results

Since you all were chatty last night telling stories, I thought I would share one. As y'all know I have been on my diet and have been walking with the dog every morning. I have a 30 minute window I try to keep within and as we have gotten healthier and faster, our walks have taken us further afield from our house, but still in our general neighborhood/subdivision.

I have two students, aged 4 and 6, who live a little less than a mile from my house, but on the same street/cul-de-sac, and they have been seeing me walk some mornings when their Mom or Dad takes them to school.

Yesterday, in class, I told them that I was almost to their house on my walks. I told them that they ought to look for me today because if they told me which house was theirs I would wave at them as I went by this morning. They looked at their Mom and she started to laugh. She informed me that I would have no trouble finding their house because for the past 2 weeks, every night before they go to bed, the girls have been using sidewalk chalk to write
HI MRS. H on their driveway!

Ahhhhhhh!! That is sweet!!

We've missed you too, Julie! I am sorry to hear that you had to cancel the DDA trip, but understand why as well. I hope that Cody is doing better soon. Have a wonderful party this weekend and congratulations to Kyle.

Many :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: to you!!

Both of my kids are SOOOOOO in to getting gift cards. You could get her a generic one to a mall, or her favorite store etc. They love how they can get what they want.

Not sure.....but less than $100. I do have 2 gifts (small....great deals though!!) I found a Cabbage Patch baby for $10 and a large Oddball stuffed for $10. She is right now into the Disney Fairies Books and animals are her first love.

I would do gift cards but that's what the Grandmas usually give....Mom wants to be more creative than that!!
