what if you went to the Disney store and got her some stuff from the Disney fairy line

do they still sell Disney Mix Sticks? What about that?

We saw them at Target the last time we were in there. There's an idea.

And the Disney Store would be great except she just told us she's done with her barbies. :guilty: My baby is growing up!! I would believe this more if she still didn't love her "babies" so much.

Thanks for the suggestions....I just usually have everything planned down to last minute by now so I am a little tense!! She hasn't even completely decided what she wants to do for her party ....YIKES!!

Kate-

I forgot to tell you this last night but my girls put in their thanks and those are way cool!! on your signatures for everybody.

Not sure.....but less than $100. I do have 2 gifts (small....great deals though!!) I found a Cabbage Patch baby for $10 and a large Oddball stuffed for $10. She is right now into the Disney Fairies Books and animals are her first love.

Got cha! My kids consider gifts cards in the same league as WDW -- you can never get enough!!

They are still spending gift cards from Christmas. I've been so proud of them, because they have been saving them for things they really want, instead of just buying whatever they see.

How about adopting an animal at the zoo in her name? I think you can do that for as low as $20, then you could plan a trip to the zoo, make her a t-shirt with the animal on it: "This is my adopted animal from the XXX Zoo" etc.

I'm sorry I don't have any more ideas -- I'm much better with boy presents.... Whenever we are invited to girl parties I usually ask the parents for ideas... I do have two nieces, but they are only 1 and 4, so I've been able to get them Disney princess things and they love that.

Good luck! I'm sure they will have a great birthday!

What did the judge say when the skunk walked in the court room?
Odor in the court!

What do you get when you put a fish and an elephant together?
Swimming trunks!

Why did Goofy put a clock under his desk?
Because he wanted to work overtime!

Why was the baby strawberry crying?
Because his parents were in a jam!

Julie

Thanks for checking in with us, Julie. I am so sorry that you had to cancel your DDA trip :guilty: But you were very smart to book the airfare for December. Now you KOW you are headed then! :thumbsup2

Also glad to hear that Cody is doing relatively better. Hang in there this weekend and tell Kyle congrats for all his hard work.

Thanks for the Rees update, Kate. And sounds like Nick is on the mend :) The pictures from the DCL look wonderful too. I bet you are so excited!

Chanon -- kiddy jokes???

Tammi -- sounds like you will be ready for the parental arrival. Now oyu can come help me clean too!

Theresa -- wish I had somesuggestions for you, but your kids are a bit younger than mine and I have no earthly idea what Abi (hope that was the right DD!) might like!

Glynis -- hope the presentation went well today.

Off to teach!

I need help!!

The girls birthday is on Mother's Day and usually I have birthday presents done and out of the way. I have Cassidy's all done this year (purse and becoming part of our cell phone plan). But Abi is another story!! All I could get out of her last night is that she didn't want clothes.
SOOOOOOOO......I need to find a really cool present for a 10 year old. HELP!!!

What about a MP3 player?? Austin is 12 and he has had his for about a year now and loves it. I found one online at www.walmart.com for about $100.00. It is called The Cube and is really small and has great quality. It is one of the smaller ones and only holds about 250 songs but it has been a year already and he only has about 30 songs on it.

After talking to Julia the other night at the Cheesecake Factory I decided that our next cruise........2009.......is going to be a Disney cruise.

Thanks for the suggestions for Abi!!!

It was easy when the girls were younger I could tell them what they wanted for their birthday, christmas based on what I found for them on clearance!!

Not so much now. Abi is my super sensitive, worried about money, kid she doesn't ask for things because she thinks they are too expensive. I think I may have accidently passed that on :guilty: because I did the same thing with my mom. We were shopping one day about 6 years ago and I saw an Easy Bake oven and I said "Ohhhhh, I wanted one of those when I was little!!' She asked me why I didn't ask for one and I told her because I knew we couldn't afford it. Guess what I got for christmas that year?

So any ideas are great ideas if nothing else to springboard from.

Have I told you all lately that I love this group of friends!!

Julie-

So glad to see you back here!!
Sorry about the trip but glad to hear the puppy is on the mend, albeit a slow one!!

What a brilliant idea of the contract for the hamster(love the name/nickname!!).

Hope things calm down soon for you!!

WTG, Kyle on the First Communion!!

Hey DDA....I need some ideas!!! For 2 of Erich's teachers gifts.

At the end of the year I always make his teachers a gift.Last year I decoupaged flower pots themed to the subject each one taught.Well this year Erich has 2 of the same teachers. For the 2 he didn't have plus 2 teachers that are retiring I'm doing the flower pots because they're fun and were a huge hit last year. But I'm stumped on the other 2. :confused3

I have decoupaged picture frames in the past but it's hard for me to find them around here for CHEAP with a wide enough border.

So I thought I'd come to y'all for some ideas.Remember key word: CHEAP!! ;)

Thanks!

again the brainsharing :goodvibes

I am usually out and walking by 7:15 or 7:30 so they are probably still asleep (or practicing the piano ;) ). But if I am late getting out of the house, and if Mom or Dad takes them, sometimes they drive by me as they head to school.

ETA: Wow... not a fancy thing, but...

My 10 yr old (boy) announced yesterday that he thinks he needs an MP3 player or a mini ipod. It appears that his classmates have them.

We acquired some pieces of sidewalk slate (I don't remember where, but you could probably get them at a garden supply center). We painted scenes on them, nothing fancy just flower and had the kids sign them. I did this with basic acrylic paints then sprayed them with a gloss sealer. They loved them and put them in their gardens.

My house threw up on itself and DH  comes home tonight for two nights (yeah!). Along with the fact that I have a bur up my ___ (the area the sun does not shine), because I weighed in this morning only to find I did not gain or loose ANYTHING!!! So that made me a bit misaligned. :guilty: Then I went to Joann’s fabrics to get some stuff for one of my SSP and they wouldn’t take my coupon because the item was already on sale. (this is the first time that has happened; usually they take the item back to full price and then give you the coupon) AND the lady behind me tried to cut in front of me in line.

So I went to the donut shop and bought Elizabeth and I a donut, I also stopped a t Starbucks for a hazelnut latte and then home to the house that threw up all over it’s self.

I started more laundry (why? I have no idea. I must be rather brainless

to add more.) And the dishwasher is running. I am off to get Gabrielle at school then clean up this house.

So I have one last thing to say.

I like the stone idea. Do you have a paint it yourself studio around? We have this great one not to far from us that has tiles for $5 a piece. They are fun to paint and can be used in so many ways!! At the craft stores they have plates that can be decoupaged or colored.

Paula-

seeing your girls always makes me smile :goodvibes .

I am guessing between cleaning house throw up and ODTT we won't be seeing you this weekend so enjoy yourself!!
