that looks like my sunshine who passed in 2000KMH1 said:Thank you so much for all your kind words. I get all teary-eyed every time I look at one of Mickey's favorite lounging spots and trying to fall asleep was tough, because he always slept on my legs. He was such a sweet kitty. Kevin and I rescued him from the Target parking lot in August 1999 when we were returning a broken item from our wedding registry. He was the smallest, dirtiest orange and white hairball, but he was our first "baby."
Here's a picture of me, Alyssa, and Mickey, taken a couple days after we brought Alyssa home from the hospital. You can see, Mickey was no longer small!

Thanks again for your condolences. I'm taking Alyssa to an activity at our community center, but I'll be back at naptime to finally respond to everyone else (I even took notes!)

First, how would anyone know they are blue? Do you plan on showing them off??KristineN said:I am having a total "mother" moment. My son broke up with his girlfriend. (His 1st real girlfriend) I guess she broke up with him...I didn't want to push for details...but I feel bad for him.

After feeling so rotten that I lost everything I typed, I went upstairs to make a marinade for some chicken skewers. For whatever reason, I decided to sniff it, and I got my hair in the honey, orange juice, and seasonings. For crying out loud, how long have I had long hair?!!
I'm going to wake Alyssa up from her nap and we're going back outside to absorb some sunshine. It's a beautiful, sunny 70 degrees in Cincinnati today.

Actually, it's 17.3 miles of bridge and tunnels, but it cuts 100 miles off the trip! It's a very low bridge, though, and the two tunnels are only about 1 mile each. The only part I don't like is that the tunnels are one lane each way, and there are sometimes lots of big trucks in the opposite lane. I just keep as far to my right as I can and keep on driving.ReAnSt said:Just make sure to keep Kate far, far away from there because I am sure she would not appreciate the like 13 miles of bridges and tunnels. Or just the bridge part.

Second, does drowning your sorrows in a pint of ice cream work with boys too?
Third, let us know how you handle it because will will all be there one day, hopefully without the blue ****s.

bethbuchall said:Not what I should be telling you, I'm sure, but...my mom kept a lot of our old Fisher-Price toys. My kids and my brother's kids have a great time playing with those at her house. It's something new and completely different for them. My mother is very organized, though, and had them in boxes in the basement. I just have stuff strewn everywhere.

See...that's the difference between moms and dads.KristineN said:I am better...once the initial shock wore off. Bill being the typical man says, "Whatdya think, they were gonna get married"? No mom wants to see their kid hurt...his dads are like, "there's better ones out there" <slap> on the back. oh to be a man![]()
KMH1 said:Hi. I feel pretty silly lamenting about this, with the more serious problems we all face, but I figured you might be wondering where I've been all day, so here goes:
We lost one of our cats today. We noticed Mickey was acting a bit odd on Saturday, but it was easy to assume he was at odds with Lucy, the other cat. (Lucy is the alpha cat and she typically puts him in his place.) Yesterday, we noticed he was walking funny, so I made him a vet appointment today for when Kevin got home from work, so someone could stay home with Alyssa. Well, when Alyssa and I got back from getting her pictures taken this morning, Mickey couldn't even walk, so I begged Kevin to come home early and I rushed him to the vet. He had a bladder infection and though he survived the process of unblocking him, his heart gave out after the procedure. I feel terrible. He was only seven. And Alyssa keeps asking where he is.![]()
I'm going to turn the computer over to Kevin, because I asked him to design our Easter card, but I'll try to check back in later tonight and respond personally to some posts from the last 36 hours...

The Dr told her that there is a 37% chance that the chemo will work, she will do chemo for at least three full months. If after 6 months ( I was told the chemo can stay in your system for three extra months) it hasnt done its job then she will have a less than 50% chance to live.
She has started her chemo on a 24hr drip and they will test her in a few days to see if it has started to work.
That is all I have for now. DH sends his thanks for all the PD and prayers from you all. He is still in aaaww how you all care for people you have only met over the net.

for your SIL and familyUP Disney said:Ok, now I'm beginning to think I've went 'round the bend (as one of my elder relatives used to say) but I'm going to tell you my idea anyway. One of you, don't remember who, commented that it would be cool to have a DDA Pal Mickey similar to Flat Stanley. It got me thinking. I am probably not going to get a chance to meet most of my DDA friends in person, so I was thinking about having Mickey travel around and meet you instead. You'd be responsible to take pictures, sign his passport, get him a souvenir and ship him on to the next person. I'd provide the money for the souvenirs, pictures (unless you have digital) and shipping. He is going on the DDA trip, Japan at the end of June and WDW with me in December.
If I can't meet you all, at least something that belongs to me can share in your lives for a little while. I'd add to his website with where he's been and post pictures.
Is this totally nuts?
