Yes, there was talk of it being at 1900 Park Fare, but since the Toy Story thing never happened, I doubt this one will either.

I wouldn't write off the Toy Story meal yet. The last I read, they were having problems with Buzz moving around from table to table due to his wings. I know that at DL, Belle is in her yellow dress at the Princess meal, but because the dress is so "big," she stands in the center of the restaurant and you go to her. Maybe they'll decide to do the same thing with Buzz, though the whole purpose of a character meal, IMO, is the characters come to you! ;)

I'm also hoping that something will pan out (no pun intended) with Tinker Bell, since she is featured in Disneyland's Parade of Dreams. Of course, I don't think she'll ever be at a meet and greet with Peter, because he is already so small! The Tink we saw in the parade was bigger than him! :teeth:

Hi. I feel pretty silly lamenting about this, with the more serious problems we all face, but I figured you might be wondering where I've been all day, so here goes:

We lost one of our cats today. We noticed Mickey was acting a bit odd on Saturday, but it was easy to assume he was at odds with Lucy, the other cat. (Lucy is the alpha cat and she typically puts him in his place.) Yesterday, we noticed he was walking funny, so I made him a vet appointment today for when Kevin got home from work, so someone could stay home with Alyssa. Well, when Alyssa and I got back from getting her pictures taken this morning, Mickey couldn't even walk, so I begged Kevin to come home early and I rushed him to the vet. He had a bladder infection and though he survived the process of unblocking him, his heart gave out after the procedure. I feel terrible. He was only seven. And Alyssa keeps asking where he is. :guilty:

I'm going to turn the computer over to Kevin, because I asked him to design our Easter card, but I'll try to check back in later tonight and respond personally to some posts from the last 36 hours...

Amy

Amy and famly- so sorry about the kitty!!!!!!!!! When we had to put Katie 1 (our 11 year old beagle) down last January I cried for about 3 days straight- so don't feel silly lamenting on this. :grouphug: It will get better, I promise.

Pal Mickey on vacation sounds like a great idea. I was going to do a mascot exchange or flat Stanley/Stacey with my Brownie troop this year. But after researching it I decided not to because I knew my girls could not do a whole year without having anything back from their mascot or or doll. Instead we exchanged postcards with other troops across the United States and abroad.

For those of you thinking about doing a pal Mickey swap, exchange or whatever. I have some suggestions but you may do whatever you want with them.

Instead of just having one being sent, since it seems like there are multiple people interested send out multiples. You can either exchange among the people who are sending out Pal Mickey's or you could send them to different people.

As for having a Pal Mickey specifically for Walt Disney world, instead of mailing him to different people, I would try to keep him on WDW property.

You can do this two different ways. The first would be to meet up with the next DDA he is going to be staying with and you can pass him on that way.

The other would be to have Pal Mickey have a box or a suit case as a permanent home. When you are getting ready to leave you ask guest services to either pass it on to the next hotel or store it at the hotel until the next family arrives. Label it who it is for there length of stay, where they are staying, put you contact information on it, etc. This will only work if the next person is arriving soon and if you are all staying on property.

Becky

Thanks for the ideas. We are going to have three travelin' pals. I figure as much enthusiasm as we've gotten, people won't mind getting different ones over the year. Deb, Theresa & I will all be sending our Pals off on adventures. If people want one for their Disney trip, let me know and I'll work that in the schedules.

:badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

I just spent the last hour typing the longest post ever, responding to virtually everyone's posts over the last 48 hours, and I somehow lost it when I was trying to copy and paste!

I don't know if I should :lmao: or :furious: or

Please know, you are all in my thoughts, and I'm sending everyone a ton of :grouphug: and :wizard: but I can't possibly type that all again.

I'm sorry!

Kristin - I don't know if you have the time, or the inclination to do this for me, but my family are going through a bout of post-Disney woes, and I thought I'd make some T's for all the kids for the summer. Would you be willing to send me some of the character designs without the Walt Disney World at the bottom? If you are, let me know and I'll PM you my request. If you are too busy, don't worry about it. I know how hectic things can be.

By the way, how is Kyle doing with his big-boy bed?

Sure, PM me the ones you want. :)

Kyle seems to be doing OK with it, but between the bed rail and the tall headboard it must seem like a crib to him. I think we weathered this storm OK, now we have to get back to the potty!

Vicki,

I love the idea of a travelin Pal. We are headed to Michigan, Kalamzoo, then to Niagara Falls and then ending in Massachusetts the end of June to visit family. If one is available we would love to take him our travels.

I think I need to pay attention to the "signs" and back off from accomplishing anything today. After feeling so rotten that I lost everything I typed, I went upstairs to make a marinade for some chicken skewers. For whatever reason, I decided to sniff it, and I got my hair in the honey, orange juice, and seasonings. For crying out loud, how long have I had long hair?!!

I'm going to wake Alyssa up from her nap and we're going back outside to absorb some sunshine. It's a beautiful, sunny 70 degrees in Cincinnati today.

:rotfl: The signs are definitely indicating that you should just go outside and just hang out in the sunshine!!!!

:grouphug:s to you Amy. After having such an emotional few days, just go take your little girl and relax for awhile. Let her and that little 'rumbly in your tumbly' remind you of all the joys in life.

Thank you so much for all your kind words. I get all teary-eyed every time I look at one of Mickey's favorite lounging spots and trying to fall asleep was tough, because he always slept on my legs. He was such a sweet kitty. Kevin and I rescued him from the Target parking lot in August 1999 when we were returning a broken item from our wedding registry. He was the smallest, dirtiest orange and white hairball, but he was our first "baby."

Here's a picture of me, Alyssa, and Mickey, taken a couple days after we brought Alyssa home from the hospital. You can see, Mickey was no longer small!

Thanks again for your condolences. I'm taking Alyssa to an activity at our community center, but I'll be back at naptime to finally respond to everyone else (I even took notes! :) )

Amy :)

So I was doing very well on the cleaning until a blue hi lighter decided it wanted to decorate my Khaki pants. Watch out for all blue items. :rotfl2:

Then my Mickey Mouse hole punch landed on my big toe.

Then I went to the dentist.

So I am now on the Disboards.

Amy, Kevin, Alyssa-Sending :grouphug: to you it is no fun to lose a pet. My cat Penny I have had since I was in 2nd grade. I will be very sad when she dies.

Perhaps you will have to get a new cat once you are settled into your new house.

Since everyone is talking about things from their childhood I thought I'd share some stories before I head off to work.

My godmother used to make cakes for a living. Up until my 10th birthday, she would make my birthday cakes. My 5th birthday I got a cake shaped like Kermit the Frog, with a stuffed Kermit the Frog. I still have Kermit. He's the uglest thing in the world, but he's brings back so many memories. Isn't it odd how one thing can do that??

Speaking of cakes, my Mom would make us a themed cake every year, plus my Aunt who is 5 years older than me and my cousins. She also made anniversary cakes for people, she made her other sisters wedding cake.

Here are some examples.

Even my Cabbage patch Kids got there own First Birthday cake

I have so many pictures of my Mom's creations perhaps I should make her a mini album as a portfolio of her past work.

You definitely have some wonderful ideas! I, for one, would appreciate places like you have described for after school activities. Here in our area, we are really limited in what our kids can do, since we have to drive them at least 30 minutes to get to the nearest "big" city where there are places like this. It would be amazing to have one in our little community.

I think it would be a good thing to have in lots of communities. So many places kids go home from school to an empty house, trouble is waiting to occur. Whether they are within the house all the time or out on the streets. Most places don't have lots of after school activities or if they do they are unaffordable to many.

Here kids would most likely have to be bussed to the location unless, I could set something up right nearby a school.

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been around. Everything's fine.

I put my t-shirt designs here for anyone who still wants one.

Glad to hear you're OK. I'll be sure to post photos of the Pop shirt after I make them.

I just booked a trip. :cool1: I booked 10 nights starting Aug 23rd for 2 rooms at POFQ with FREE dining. We will likely only go for 7 or maybe 8 nights but I figured this would give me a bit wiggle room since I haven't booked airfare yet. It is "costing" me about $600 in lost discounts and purchasing extra passes but that still sounds like a good deal for the meal plan. I'll have the extra passes to use in the future. And thanks to Beth for telling me that they priced the package at value season rates when value season doesn't start until Aug 27th.

I asked DH if he would rather stay home but he says he'll miss the kids too much for a whole week. I can understand that and I want him to have a good time with his children but I also don't want him being grumpy like last time. He said its soooo boring to ride the same rides he's already been on. I'm hoping to find something for him to do on our Magic Kingdom day(s). There is plenty of new stuff in the other parks.

Has anyone been to the Kennedy Space Center? How old would you think would be good there? I think Lizzy would like it but would Joe(5) be too young?

I will be there the same time as you! Woo hoo free dining!!!! :thumbsup2
