The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 30

This was my favorite from the Oct. trip, everything was so good! I have it booked for our Dec. trip, hope my family feels the same.

The only restaurant my girls were poor eaters was the Rose & Crown....that has become our no need to go back restaurant.

I am waiting to pass judgement on the changes until somebody actually uses it next year and gives a review.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reminder...I have to email my resume out to a few promising jobs tonight.

I would covet good thoughts at 8 AM (my time) on Thursday as I am meeting with the head of SPRC and my boss to break the news to him that I am leaving.

I was just pricing out some rack rate packages so I will be able to evaluate whatever deals come my way. Will somebody please talk me out of the Deluxe Dining? I keep thinking how NICE it would be to have all of our food paid for up front and not have to worry about it. $70 per person, per day for 3 meals, 2 snacks, and a refillable mugs. Booking through AAA would save us $480 off the cost of the room if we can't get a Bounce Back or some other deal. The problem is DS doesn't eat $70 worth of food in a day. Heck, even when he was on the child's DDP he barely ate $10 worth of food in a day!:rotfl: Well, maybe that's not true. He probably eats $30-$35 worth of food each day if we go to dinner at a TS with a menu. If we do buffets it doesn't matter that he doesn't eat because we still pay the adult price. Hmm.
Neither does Katie. I don't like that she is considered an "adult" when she only eats air!:lmao: We have decided to skip DDP for both April & August & just get the DDE card. Last year by the 5th day we were all so stuffed that we didn't enjoy the last few TS meals. It was just too much food.

The biggest thing is that tomorrow is my second anniversary of my gastric bypass surgery. In the past 2 years I've lost 100 pounds, and kept off 96 of it. I'm celebrating that!
Wow!!! That is wonderful!!! You should be sooo proud of yourself!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Well I spent all day marking down Halloween costumes.
People were coming in & buying them like they were free so the store was very busy. I ended up getting the Cinderella dress & crown for Sophie as a present for Christmas. She loves to dress up.

I was marking down the lady & the tramp infant costumes & the shed all over me! yuck!:sad2:

My kids are so excited about tomorrow they won't go to sleep! Sophie is Princess Jasmine, Daniel is Harry Potter, & Katie is a Frankensteins bride.

Theresa - Good luck!!:wizard:

Anne Marie - People keep telling me DS will grow one of these days. Planning so far ahead of time makes it tricky to guess if he will be eating more than toddler sized portions on the next trip!:rotfl2: But now that I have really taken a good long look at an apples to apples comparison of prices I think I can avoid booking anything with DDP!

This morning I noticed the lids to 2 of our Million Dreams refillable mugs are missing. (I was trying to take coffee in the car with me.) My lid and DS's lid are gone. I looked in the sink and the dishwasher and then I was out of time. So I asked DH tonight (since the kitchen is his domain) and he has NO CLUE where the lids are. We looked EVERYWHERE in the kitchen, under all the appliances, under the living room furniture, everywhere. They are just gone. The best we can come up with is that Arabella must have knocked them into the trashcan and we didn't notice. We usually keep some mugs and lids on the counter next to the coffee maker. She obviously discovered the lids and thought they were nice to play with. Like hockey pucks.:sad2: What makes me mad is that those mugs are only 2 months old and now they have no lids!

Good luck tomorrow, Theresa.

Elizabeth - were you a math whiz in school? You sure having this pricing thing down to a science. It makes my head spin just trying to comprehend whatever it is you are doing. I'm going to send all my vacations your way and have you figure out what's most economical for me. :teeth:

Mine are too. I can't watit to see pictures of all the DDA boys and ghouls. Tonight was our school halloween skating party from 6 to 8. My kids wanted to go, but I told them when we went on Saturday that it would be then or tonight. They picked Saturday. It's just too much for us to get home, eat, clean up, go skate until 8, come home and get showers and into bed. So I talked them out of it. I just got them in bed now so hopefully they will be well-rested for a big night around our neighborhood tomorrow. I know I should get to be early too!

Bernadette,

Can you believe how fast our trips are coming up? Chaos at work has taken over for me also, I don't even have my suitcases out of storage yet, :scared1:

I hope that the crowds aren't too bad, I was surprised at the number of people there in September, but it seems that this year has been a record year for attendance.

I was just looking at the weather trying to decide what to pack, I guess it will be a mixture, shorts in the day with a light jacket in the evening.
I can’t believe how close we are. My suitcase is just under Joe’s bed. I was hoping to get my T’s made this weekend but wasn’t feeling up to it. I do have most of the clothes set aside but I think we'll need a few warm clothes as the nights look cool. I looked at the long range forecast for here and it says highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s. AND…snow on the Sunday we are away and on the day we came home.:scared1: YIKES….I thought I would have to worry about snow delays on my January trip not this one.

And I am partly to blame for that, Bernadette! Sorry about that...
I tried not to respond to everything because I knew that the posts were adding up ahead of me, so hopefully it wasn't too bad. :flower3:
I don’t think you need to apologize for that. I think we were asking for it.;)

And, as for a maid... I have an idea  Let's get a DDA maid and send him or her around the country like our Pal Mickey's did for a while! When one of us goes on vacation, the maid can get the house cleaned while we are gone, and house-sit in the process. Anyone have an idea where we would find an employment office that could help us with this task?
That is a great idea!!!!

Debbie & Bernadette- Your trips are fast approaching!! :cool1:
I don't know if I should  or :scared1: Can't wait to be there but so much to do.

DDA!!!:cool1:

YAY!!! My first ever milestone!!!!!:rotfl:
Congratulations!!!!

I am famous!:cool1: Mary put a little note on MouseSavers thanking me for the info on the new Bounce back!:rotfl2:
Cool!!!!

And Chris, is it possible that the Pirates Crocs are just the most uncomfortable Crocs made??? I mean how much do they hurt!!!!:scared1: I don't know if the dryer trick will help or what? What did you do with yours???:confused3
Sorry your Pirate Crocs aren’t working for you. I’m afraid my Mickey Crocs just are not as comfy as my old ‘regular’ Crocs.

Also, Bernadette... I can hold off on my photopass CD order until you get back from your trip if you want. Let me know!
How nice of you to offer. I’ll have to check with Vicki to see if she wants to wait as I told her I would go in with her.

Beings we switched to MGM, we are going to see KA there. This will be our 1st time seeing a CIRQUE DU SOLEIL show, hope we enjoy it!

I promise to take pictures wherever we go :thumbsup2

That looks SO cool!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: I'm impressed that you know what a Cheetah Girl is!!! :rotfl2:

You are a cool Grandma!
:thumbsup2

Janet...

I will be curious as to what you think of KA...Bill & I saw it a couple of years ago....

What is it about SWA that you hate? I think their seats have more room, they are leather, and we have never had a canceled or late flight. Now watch....I'm sure I've just jinxed myself into a problem the next time I fly with them.
I think the seats on Jet Blue are much more comfy than SWA. The SWA ones have a weird angle to them-they sort of push you forward a bit. I don’t mind SWA and I thought their snacks were fine. I also didn’t mind the cattle call as the planes board so fast but when I went with my family I was able to preboard with Emma and I wouldn’t really care when flying with adults. BUT…SWA flys out of Providence RI and is at least 50 miles away vs. about 15 for Logan and JB. That long drive home is a drag after a trip when you’re already in post Disney depression.

I really dislike the "humor" (?) of the airline, flight attendants, etc. I'm not sure... Unless it's on a TV commercial, I just sort of find it obnoxious. Definitely just a personal preference, because I know a lot of people particularly enjoy that about SWA. :)

I miss the perks of the other airlines we like to fly such as XM radio, better snack service, etc. Stupid stuff, but it annoys me when I'm flying with them and they don't have any frills whatsoever.
I wasn’t crazy about their humor either but I don’t know if the pilot on my JB plane in Aug was much better. We were put into a holding pattern over Orlando due to thunder storms and he said “we have enough fuel for that” and then we were put in that holding pattern for another ½ hour and he says “we might have enough fuel for that.”

The JB snacks are nice! And the TV’s are great too.

I won't be making ADRs until February.:rolleyes1 And if we are staying for 16 nights I won't be able to make them all in one phone call. I am pretty sure you can only make ADRs for 10 days past your arrival day, so I will have to call back to do the rest. Oh, my. I will have to call back EVERY DAY for a week, won't I? That will be fun.:rolleyes1
I need to call and order my new DDE card because we will need that in December.
I guess I should be thinking about ADR’s for Emma’s trip in early May and then August.:scared1:

Hunter received a game for his birthday and it has the whole family waiting in line to play. The game is Katamino. It has 18 different shaped blocks that fit into a wooden grid. The object is to get your 9 pieces to fit in a square area before your opponent does. It is great for all ages. Colby has beat us all several times :rotfl: I think that it would make a great Christmas present for kids of all ages.
That looks great!

:teeth:

I suck at math!:rotfl2: I just have too much time on my hands while I wait for DH's vacation bid. In one column I added what each day of a AAA package with deluxe DDP would cost, then I added in tips. In the other column I added up what a room with an AP discount and OOP food with the DDE discount would cost using the same room and food I used in the package. Not factoring in the one day passes the package would require the DDP costs $50 more. If I do factor in the tickets it is even higher. What we might save with DDP is wiped out by the tips and the higher room rate, without even getting into the park passes we would have to buy in the package.

Bernadette - The window for ADRs for that May trip will open in a couple of days, won't it? Do you have your matrix started? You better chop chop!:rotfl2:

ummmmmm....

wellll.............

truthfully, it was not my cup of tea. I am not a big cirque fan....but I think I may one of the few people in the world who didn't like it. :)

I have to know, what did you think?
