Ok gals, as vague as this is ... keep your fingers crossed for me early early early tomorrow morning (like... way before the sun comes up).

I have some trip details to try and work out for June :goodvibes

Fingers, toes, PD and a couple of prayers to you!

Anyone related to you who lives in your household - shoot if you had a boatload of married kids living in your house with you and they each had a boatload of kids - you could get a boatload of passes!!!!!

Thanks. It is looking like it would only be beneficial for DH & I right now. The kids both live here (except while Katrina is at college) but they won't be at Disney long enough each year to make it worth the money. There's another $200 reason to buy DVC & AP's. Woohoo! I figured out with our two trips next year, we'd save $150 each on park passes. We really like the Park Hopping, Water Park Fun passes. It is looking better & better!!

I'm also trying to include some non-Disney trips that we want to take but are in the DVC plan to help with the justification on why we should buy now. Next year is my 25th wedding anniversary and I've always wanted to stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island but could not warrant the cost. Guess what - yep, Grand Hotel is in the DVC Consierge Collection.

I just caught up reading. I've been out this weekend since Sunday it was my 12th wedding anniversary and my mom volunteered to stay with the kids (DS10, DS5 and DD1) from Saturday afternoon til Monday morning. :yay:

I was reading about kids going to school and all that, and I was interested to know what the school system is like in the U.S. in comparison to our school system in Mexico. At what age do kids start school? How many grades for preschool, elementary, etc.? It's nice to know something new every day.

You had post #12345! I can't believe Kate missed that one :rotfl: I stuck around the other day to get #11111 but couldn't wait long enough. That's a good one, though! :teeth:

Cool!!! I keep looking out for those myself because I know Kate loves them too. I am a numbers person myself so remembered this little piece of trivia about Kate.

DH is out of town - you need to know this for my story

I took the kids to McDonalds for lunch on the way to school and the man say "Have a good day, sweetheart!" as I handed him our money

we drove off and Julia said to me:

"MOM!!! DID YOU HEAR WHAT HE SAID?!?!? DADDY IS NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT THIS - WHEN HE GETS HOME HE IS GOING TO HAVE TO COME DOWN HERE AND TALK TO HIM!!!! YOU ARE DADDY'S SWEETHEART!!"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hope you had a great anniverary celebration. That is really neat.

In our area, preschool is not part of the actual school system. It is for kids that are not old enough for school. You can enroll them in private preschools.

We do have pre-Kindergarten for kids that aren't ready for Kindergarten but are the right age (turning 5 during the school year). That is optional. Kindergarten officially starts our schooling - usually kids are 5 when they start (my DD started when she was 4 but turned 5 a month into K). Kindergarten and 1st through 5th grade are in the elementary school. 6th - 8th grade are in the Middle School and 9-12th are the High School. It is a little different all over the United States as far as what they consider Elementary, Middle (or some places called Junior High), and High School. Sometimes it depends on the number of kids in each grade rather than what they feel is best for the kids. However, I believe everyone has K-12 for school.

I am soooo tired.:headache: I spent all day showing a couple from SC houses. After looking at 20 houses they all look the same....in their price range, I can't tell you guys how many of these homes had avocado green appliances and shag carpeting! :faint:

I did have time to stop by walmart to buy fake crocs for my waterpark trip. They are a very "cheerful" yellow color. Bill said he would pretend he didn't know me when I wear them! :rotfl2:

Tell him as long as he has the kids, it's a deal!!!! :rotfl: I love the different colors and what better place to wear them than Disney. Though, I wear mine all over town (even though it still looks & acts like winter here).

I do not believe Kindergarten is mandatory here. There is talk about passing legislation that it would become mandatory. Interestingly, I personally don't know anyone who didn't send their kids to kdg...

Yup! It's official! She's daddy's girl! I love it!

Well, I'm off to bed early with "visions of DVC membership dancing in my head". Tinkaroo gave me some additional info about SSR which is their home resort and the one I'd probably purchase as well as lots of other useful tips since they just purchased. It looks better & better for me! If you can't tell, I am the one that will actually make the decision. I have to prove to myself that we can afford it. If I can do that, then my DH will be convinced.

Good night DDA. :grouphug: and :tink: to those that need it. Hope tomorrow is a great day for everyone!!!!

OMG OMG OMG I AM GOING TO KILL MY HUSBAND -

He just called to tell me good night and as we were talking he said to me

are you glad XXXXXX got fired?

he knows I TIVO everything - what was he thinking!?!?!? :furious:

Okay - I guess it won't be very suspenseful now :sad2:

Kate,

Thank you so much for my birthday thread! I love the design. Can you think of anything "everyday-ish" to put on it (wording) so I could make it to wear any time?

And thanks to all who posted. It's still an hour away from the 21st, and I've already started celebrating!

Here's the VERY preliminary first draft of our graduation announcement. I have a few things in mind I want to tweak and add to it, but you get the idea. It probably goes without saying, but Kate's recent designs (which were influenced by... Kristen's? please correct me if i'm wrong  ) really inspired this. It's so simple, but I kind of like it :goodvibes

This is really nice. I like the thank you notes, graduation cards, etc. that you guys all come up with.
