Does anyone here drive a minivan or a mid-size SUV? We realized yesterday that we cannot fit 2 booster seats and a carseat in the backseat of my car. That means once I have the baby we would not be able to carpool with any of DS's friends (by law they'll be in a booster seat for 3 more years) or pick them up for playdates, etc.

We've been looking at minivans but didn't plan to buy for another year or so. Now we're looking to buy something before school starts in August. If any of you have an SUV/minivan (or a car even) that will comfortably fit 3 carseats in the backseat and you would personally recommend, please let me know.

We're looking to buy used (unless we get some incredible deal) and probably won't go older than a 2002.

I drive a Honda Odyssey. I love it! The back seat is pretty big, and would probably fit 2 boosters and a car seat. I've never tried, but there are 3 seat belts back there, and if your boosters are like the one my DS uses, it should work. It's more slender than a regular car seat. Hope this helps!

Back from gymnastics and now I have a killer headache. I took some motrin and hopefully that will kick in shortly, before I have to get Nicholas at the bus stop in an hour.

All this talk about Disney (people planning new trips, Amy leaving tomorrow, people getting back from Disney) is really making me anxious to go. On our way home from the gym Alyssa wanted to listen to The Happiest Celebration on Earth CD. Then she started talking about all the rides, saying "when we go back to Disney can we go on Soarin', the Tea Cups, Figment" etc., etc., I need a Disney fix!!!

OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!

Would you like to see a grown woman crying?!?!? I can't even beleive this:

today in the mail there was a large envelope from WDW for me - I had no idea what it could be - inside was an envelope that said "for Julia" and inside that envelope was a picture of Belle in her gold dress - signed; a collage that I had made of Julia and Belle and given to Belle the last time we rode the tea cups with her which she had also signed and a handwritten letter to Julia from Belle - here is the text of the letter:

okay - I think I might stop crying sometime today - Julia is on cloud 9!!

Wow!!!!!!!!!! Talk about Pixie Dust!

We're supposed to get "the worst snow storm of the winter" in the next few days.... which is REALLY unfair, since it's not winter. At least we're all in the same stupid, cold boat.

I guess maybe they should call it the worst snow storm of the spring

We got McDonalds on the way to school and the woman said - Hey - maybe you'll get a snow day tomorrow - all I can say - this will be me :furious:

Amy - maybe you can all and see if Delta will put you on a flight tonight and get the hell out of dodge!!!

DH is out of town tomorrow and we have a snow day - can I just say -I will go

I know I shouldn't complain since we've been in the middle of a drought for the last 6 years, but I'm so tired of snow and being cold. I want my nice, warm, dry summer.

Ok, DVC members....

Two specific questions from Kyle ( :thumbsup2 )

1) How long a term is the financing through DVC?
2) How much of a down payment did you make if you financed? I guess more specifically those of you who bought recently (Deb, Tammi, Steffy, Lindsay, etc).

Thanks :goodvibes

:Pinkbounc Oh boy!! Does this mean what I think....?

Kristin -

I took Julia to WDW on her 3rd birthday - and seriously can you think of a better way to spend your birthday as a kid?!!? Nick was born in August so we will never take him on his birthday and I feel bad for him!!!

Tell your DH - Kyle is only young once and you should go now while he still wants to!!!

Take Nick on his half-birthday. That's what we've done with Katie since her birthday is in July. California in July is a bit much!

have you ever seen American pie?

Okay I am going to have to pm this to you

:lmao: It took me a minute to get what American Pie and Mil ford had to do with each other :scratchin, but then I got it! (Yes I am a natural blonde, so some of these take me a few minutes!!)

Well, this has been quite a morning. I got Katie and Jacob out the door to the bus stop this morning, ran around doing laundry and dishes, and getting the twins dressed. Mondays are the day that I help out at the school doing the take-home reading project. We got there, did our bit, and left as soon as possible. Today is "early out" day, so I had to do all the shopping for the twins 4th birthday before Jacob came home early from kindergarten. We ran to the store, got the stuff for cake and ice cream, Winnie the Pooh burgers, Piglet's potato salad, and Owl's fruit salad, then zipped home. As I'm unloading groceries, I saw the light flashing on the answering machine. Then I heard my cell phone ring. Duh! I'd forgotten to take my cell phone with me.

I answer my cell phone, and it's DH. He tells me the school called him to let him know that Jacob slipped on the way to recess and fell into a brick wall. They told him that he had a gash on his forehead, and someone needed to pick him up right away. So, I buckle the twins back in the van, speed to the school with horrible visions flashing through my mind, and get there in record time. Jacob was sitting in the office, holding a bag of ice on his head. He had a gash about an inch long that was bleeding quite a lot (head wounds, you know?). So, I get him to the car, drop the twins off at my SIL's house, and take Jacob to the hospital. Meanwhile, Jacob is freaking out because he just doesn't want stitches. I didn't dare promise him that he wouldn't get any, because frankly, it looked pretty bad to me. The doctor confirmed what I thought, and I had to hold Jacob down while the dr. gave him 4 shots in his forehead (ouch!), and then 5 stitches. Poor little guy tried so hard to hold still, but he was crying hysterically!

Once it was over, we went to Wendy's for lunch, picked up the twins and came home. Whew! I need a nap. Jacob is white as a sheet, and has a headache from Hades! I'm hoping that the Motrin will kick in and he'll get some relief. Luckily, there was no sign of a concussion!

So, how's your day??????

Clare -

I read your posts in the middle of the night and was too tired to type a response -

Suddenly my headache doesn't hurt quite so bad.

We had to do that with Alyssa when she was 2. She cut her chin open and needed stitches. Took her to the E/R and they wrapped her in a sheet like a mummy (coccoon) so she couldn't fight them. Oh did she scream and cry. It broke my heart. All I could hear was "daddy!" "daddy!". He was up at her head. I was getting nauseous, so stayed by her feet. As soon as they were done and she got unwrapped, the crying stopped. I think that is what she hated most of all.

:grouphug: to Jacob. Hope you feel better.

Glynis -

poor little Jacob - watching your little one get stitches is the worst!! Give hime big hugs and lots of ice cream!!! Around here - ice cream cures EVERYTHING!!!!
