I love that movie. I knew right away people would want to know why it is censored.

I'm unwinding. We spent the day together as a family (which I usually love), but unfortunately, we had to drive in DH's work car, which smushes the kids in the back seat. He was on call, so he had to have all his gear with him. It was a bit much for 4 kids all day in the back seat. So, I'm unwinding. Nothing like a bit of DIS to unwind from a day of "He's touching me." "She's looking at me." "I'm too cold." "I'm too hot." Can we say, Calgon, take me away!

And to think only my kids did that!!!
We even drove in 2 seperate cars today to baseball, I went to the field for opening day and I made the banner for DS team, then a couple of hours later he had pictures so I had to rush there for that, forgot the check book so ran home for that then home again as they had 1 hour before there game. DH went a couple of those times too in his car with DD and friend.

All right you all I am trying something in my house today....I don't know if any of you with older kids have gone through this. I sat my family(hubby included) down last night and took them to task for not doing their chores even though these are the ones they all agreed upon. I don't expect my house to be spit spot but I was getting tired of nagging my Saturdays away while doing laundry for 4 people!! So I told them I would not nag them today and in fact after I get off the computer I am not even going to be in the house.....need to leave the house because they keep coming in to ask me what they need to do next!! But if chores weren't done there would be consequences....help me on that part!!!

Consequences:

1. No allowance if they get one
2. Not going anywhere but school activities until the chores are done (not really grounding)

I'm trying to think of something else but my mind is tired after learning how to use my sewing machine!

We started to have a family meeting every Sunday night when the girls hit their teens so we could all talk about what others were not helping with. We talked about what needed to be done by everyone in the week coming up as well. Chuck and I also heard things that we were falling down on for the kids. I really liked those talks.

Yep, that happened in the swap I set up. The person put a space in it because they knew it would be censored. They had this problem all the time. I thought it was too funny they lived somewhere that was censored.

What swap did you set up? I've always wondered about these and how they worked. Never had someone I really knew that I could ask.

I went upstairs to check on my kids and Julia was sound asleep - Nick look horrible to me - I leaned down to kiss him and he was holding his forehead and said mommy - me hot

he was right - he has a fever - then he said my eyes hurt - my head hurts and is holding his forehead right over his eye - which means he has a sinus headache -

I feel so bad for him - he is laying here next to me watching Toy Story 2 - every once in a while he says "head hurts" or "eye hurts"

Poor little thing - and he spit out the medicine

Have you tried rubbing him with vicks, I always put it on our foreheads as well as under the feet and my DS loves the raspberry advil, no other meds will do!!!

OH and DH isn't much better - today he bent down to pick something up off the floor at the EXACT moment Julia opened a drawer in our kitchen -

he has three big gashes on his nose and has had an internal nose bleed and headache all night long

My boys are a mess but so cute -

Buzz just tried to escape Al's toy Barn and ran into the door as it closed and fell to the floor - in unison the two of them say "OOHHHH" it was so adorable!!!

I wouldn't like to be a 'boy' in your house today, hope you are giving them some TLC!!!

wow - that is really a great idea!! I think we will have to do that here!! Well not yet

It really was nice. As they got older, we had less & less time together with the 4 of us all in one place. This was the time that we would "synchronize" our calendars so we knew where everyone was going to be. It evolved into talking about what we all needed from each other. We haven't been doing it as officially as we did when Katrina was here since it is just Becky here with us now. Chuck & I get up together with Becky for breakfast at least 2 or 3 times a week so we do it unofficially then. One of us always makes breakfast for her but we make sure both of us are up at least twice a week. Katrina & Becky had different morning schedules so that didn't work when Katrina was home.

I have to give a HUGE kudos to REI

I got an email from them saying that I had to show Photo ID to pick up my shoes - um since my mom is picking them up this could be a problem

so I sent them an email 1/2 an hour ago - they have already responded to me! that is really good customer service!!!!!

Should have asked my DH first. It seems that he heard it from a couple of guys in one of his previous jobs. They were walking some place and one of the guys used it. Chuck had to ask what it meant at the time. Leave it to the guys to actually use it in every day life. My DH isn't one to use it (only to have heard it). He didn't know that it was in the movie American Pie.
