Hey Marci - how are the sinuses doing?

Good morning, Tammi! I'm hanging in there. I had to have all the duct work in the house where we office replaced -- it had mold in it. It was tough those few days they were working, as it stirred up all kinds of gross things, but after a few rough days, I'm much better.

It's been in the 70s and 80s here in Dallas, so everything is starting to bloom. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks.

Today the high will be 80. This afternoon, we are flying to Tahoe for a few days of skiing with the boys. The highs on the mountain are supposed to be 5 - 10 degrees, with lows in the -5. BRRRRR. I'm a Texas girl -- I'm going to freeze!

Ok, I have really been trying for awhile now and finally got a co-worker to assist me in learning a graphics program. I don't think I am going to attempt anything more difficult, but at least I can make a name design for my kids. Please give me your honest opinions, good or bad. If you think of a way that it could be better, let me know.

WOW -- great job! I'm very impressed. I think it looks great. What program did you use? I really need to jump in and try some myself. My DS10 is taking a Digital picture class in summer school this summer, and they are going to scrapbook pages and make picture books/photo albums. Soon, he'll know more than I do about computers and graphics software.

Thank you. Actually, I just did it in Word. He showed me how to use the 2 color blending, doing the border, outlining, and such. I'm sure a "real" program has many more features/options, but I was overloaded with just Word.

Welcome! Sorry to hear about the ear infections. I really hate those. It's worse when your child has a high pain tolerance. My oldest never feels pain in her ears until literally minutes before her eardrums burst.

Have fun at dinner tonight! I love celebrating birthday's with family!

Emma's only symptoms are not being able to sleep, her eardrum burst last year and I only knew when she told me she couldn't sleep, and being really cranky.

I am talking to my mom right now...biopsy went okay but won't know anything until Tuesday. It's more of the hurry up and wait game!

mommy2emmersNmo - I just had to say that I have a picture of my sister that looks just like Emma's in your signature. She was 5yo and I was taking her on her first trip to WDW. We had a Mickey bar as soon as we arrived at the hotel and she is posing exactly like that!

That is too funny! Emma was five on this past trip, her first. This was the last one she had. She would have just ate that the entire trip. Not long after we got back we found out she was lactose intolerant so I suspect that that Mickey bar was her last for a while. I should frame it so she can relive it. She is very upset that she cannot have ice cream.

You are in Salem, MA right? I have cousins that live right near Springfield. And my SIL lives on Hanscom AFB, which is much closer to you. But as much as we are in MA, we come up every summer for about a week or so, I have been to her house for about a total of 16 hours!

Matt (as you probably have guessed) is one of the three little pigs in the play. He's mad that he has to the the responsible pig (brick pig) when his two best friends are the laid back pigs (they get to wear their bathing suits). I thought it would look cute to have matching t-shirts; and each will have their nickname on the back - bricks, sticks and hay. He has quite a lot of lines and then a song to sing by himself. The teacher thinks it will help with his stuttering.

I am very sorry for not "civilianizing" my posts. I must tell you the other day I caught myself speaking to another military member and I almost said "my Disney Husband and Disney Daughter #1". I laughed inside so much.

Please, please, please always ask if I just go on and on about something that I don't "civilianize". I get so excited and forget to slow down and explain myself.

Military lingo 1O1 ... TDY =Temporary Duty (the Y is said to stand for yonder, this was from many many years ago). So if I say DH is TDY that means he is out on a trip with the military.

Congrats on the promotion!! My SIL and BILare both the AF as well. I believe she is a Major and he just went back in two years ago and finished Officer Candidacy School. They are stationed at Hanscom in MA but are awaiting a new reassignment. Most likely they headed to England and if not there then to VA to the NRO. My dh is hoping they get England, as he will not have to see her so much!! They do not get along really well.

I agree, the lingo can be confusing if you don't know much about the military. My mom works as a civilian at the Naval Academy and before that at the local Army base so over the years I have picked up on some things but there are things she says that I have no clue what she is talking about!!

Have you ever been asked for a hard copy of your signed tax forms? I was told they radomly select people....I have made 5 corrections so far...I feel like a big dork. Anyway, I haven't lied about anything...I am just totally ignorant as to how this process works. Is the EFC towards all costs? I.E...tuition & housing?

Here is my childish problem of the moment:

I am sitting here all nervous because I am waiting for a paramedic to come over and draw blood from me. Since a few people have died around me I have become a tad paranoid...so I got a life insurance policy for myself so my kids would be taken care of. So now I need a BP check, blood etc. I have terrible veins so they NEVER get it in the first try. So I am freaking out! Like I said...I know it's childish...

And now your BP is going to be sky high. I always tell my nurses to make that band as tight as they can to make my vein bulge. If they miss on the first try that is the only chance they get. Luckily I have pretty good veins though. Good luck!
