THANKS! And now we are 500 miles from the nearest Chick Fil-A. Boy you know how to hurt a girl...

Hey, I didn't chime in that I was born in 1972 too. Oh wait, I just did! :lmao:

here is the dole whip recipe I used

it was so easy!!
Pineapple 'dole" whips

Prep: 10 min.

Freeze: 3 hrs.

Makes: 8 servings

2 cans (20 oz. each) DOLE Crushed Pineapple

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 tablespoons lime juice

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries, mini marshmallow or mini chocolate chips, (optional)

1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped

Drain pineapple; reserve 2 tablespoons juice. Set aside.

Place pineapple, lemon juice, lime juice, sugar and reserved pineapple juice in blender or food processor container. Cover; blend until smooth. Stir in cherries or marshmallow or chips, if desired.

Pour into two 1-quart freezer zipped bags. Store bags flat in freezer. Freeze about 1-1/2 hours or until slushy.

Stir gently pineapple slush into whipped cream until just blended, in large bowl. Return to freezer until completely frozen, about 1 hour. Serve.

Of course its easy if you leave ingredients out!!!

Okay Tammi - this is bag number one

I think this is for people who like to travel light or have a stroller and don't need a place for water bottles - I am working on a backpack and will hopefully post that soon!!

the bag part is about 11x16 inches and you can see my video camera inside it

each strap has a pocket on it with a velcro closure - one has an elastic band on it making it perfect for a cell phone - and one does not - more designed for fast passes - I think I will move the cell phone pocket to the front of the bag as it is awkward to reach the pouch on the back strap - the strap also has a long strip on it for pins to go on

I absolutely LOVE the bag! I might just have to order one. Let us know when you are ready to accept orders and what you charge! I can sew, but I could never do what you have done. You are one talented Queen!

Marti and Paul (note I put Marti first so as not to offend  ) I just mapquested the distance between North Hartland, VT and Rochester, NY. It's only 337 miles or about 6 hours. I have 3 boys, 2 of which are about Matt's age. So....when can I expect a visit? You are probably the closest DDA member to my home. Within a couple of weeks we should have the SugarHouse in full swing. Sugar on Snow. yummy. If you really like pineapple I make a mean Pina Colada. Never tried to make a Dole Whip :scratchin .

I read your post that your next trip is to DC so I guess I won't expect you soon, but it would be fun.

Deb

I'll just say - we are so exhausted from our "quick" weekend surprise that we won't be going anywhere too soon. This traveling makes an old girl feel even older!

Here's a little potty humor.
As I know I've mentioned before, Colby is in the throws of potty training. This has been the longest potty training ever. :confused3 . We have been offering bribes to get him to poop on the pot. He used to do it, but then decided that he like the diaper better. Anyway, he announced tonight that he had to go pee. We sent him to the bathroom. About a minute later he is yelling for me to come to the bathroom. I figured he hadn't made it and needed new underwear. Much to my delight he made it and he pooped all by himself. :cool1: That is huge. I called Chris into the bathroom and we made a really big deal of it. Colby, still sitting on the toilet, looks Chris straight in the eye and announces "that pays money". I thought I was going to die laughing. I hadn't offered him a monetary bribe in a while, but he remembered and was looking for his quarter. Don't we all wish that taking a poop would pay. We'd all be rich. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Deb - You mentioned earlier that it was time to do some sugaring. Do you make your own maple syrup? Alan brought me home several bottles of syrup from his December trip to Vermont. Now, of course I can't eat any of it, but I made heart shaped pancakes for the kids for Valentine's day, and the syrup dripped on my finger. What was I to do? I had to taste it! Incredible! Better than anything we get here in Utah!

Well, I know for a fact you couldn't really beat me up. You saw my tattoos...I have a high pain threshold and I'd take you down in seconds! :lmao:

Amy :)

I really wish I had the picture of Paul's reaction to the tatoo - now that is priceless.

Hey -- we're so tired after our long trip and all you people want to do is bash. So unfair. Is there anybody here that will defend us??

glynis that is so awesome!!

how close are you to vegas? when i am out west this fall - how close would I be to you?

Vegas is about 6 hours away from Alpine. However, you should let me know when you're in Vegas. DH and I make several trips there a year. It would be fun if we could meet. It would be even better if I could convince DH to spring for AP's for DL, and then we could meet you there. Wishful thinking on my part, though. He says I should just be glad I get to go in June, and then to the World in January. I guess I should count my blessings.

Since I've seen the bag up close I feel I can comment on this. I will however, deny it in a court of law (forgive me Amy for the following sentences):

The bag is very very well made. It was clearly thought out, everything has a place and everything in its place. Even a place to put your pins. Since I can't sew either, I was totally blown away by how well it was made. It looks great and was very comfortable around my neck. The best part (for me) was that it was not a huge bag; therefore it shouldn't become too heavy for a day in the parks.

We do make Maple Syrup. We actually sell it at the restaurant that I work for as well as other locations. We make around 500 gallons per year. I know all about not being able to eat it. This is the 3rd year that I have been on a low carb diet while making Maple Syrup. I always end up breaking the diet at least once. There is nothing better than fresh Maple syrup on a warm raised donut. I also love Maple Spread (It's like a really soft maple candy that is awesome on fried bread dough). Just writing about it is making me hungry. If anyone is going to be in Vermont within the next month, please let me know and we can get together for some Sugaring. It is a lot of work, but so much fun.

Why, thank you! By the way, I saw the picture of you and Alyssa where you are on your stomach. I could never do that while I was any amount pregnant.

Chris Hunter. That is too funny :rotfl2: My dh is Chris and my ds8 is Hunter. It struck me that it is a small world.

Deb

I knew those names sounded familiar! How funny is that?!? I have a Jacob Hunter, and my sister has an Ian Hunter. My grandfather's name was Hunter, and we all wanted to honor him. Pretty cool!

Actually, when my brother decided on Chris Hunter, it really confused his 3 year old son Shaun. My SIL's brother's name is Chris, and Shaun calls him Uncle Chris. Now there's a new baby with the same name, and for the first 3 weeks, Shaun called him "Uncle baby Chris Hunter." It must be confusing.

You can compliment the Queen's homemade bag Marti. We all know I'm a better cook...there was definitely sugar in my cookies! ;)

I didn't pay her for that testimonial either!!!!!
