Kate which recipe did you make, I am going to try one next week when my family come for dinner, did you make it in an ice cream machine - I may just pull mine out and use it for the first time.

We make the one with the ice cream maker all the time.... it's AMAZING!

ETA: I'll post the recipe we use if you don't want to hunt for it. It's really simple!

Does anyone have (or know where I can find) the recipe for Penne Alla Vodka pasta from Mama Melrose? I am having a craving for that.

Did someone say "craving?" Just the word craving makes me hungry! :teeth:

Amy :)

Okay Tammi - this is bag number one

I think this is for people who like to travel light or have a stroller and don't need a place for water bottles - I am working on a backpack and will hopefully post that soon!!

the bag part is about 11x16 inches and you can see my video camera inside it

each strap has a pocket on it with a velcro closure - one has an elastic band on it making it perfect for a cell phone - and one does not - more designed for fast passes - I think I will move the cell phone pocket to the front of the bag as it is awkward to reach the pouch on the back strap - the strap also has a long strip on it for pins to go on

and you should all know that Amy does not look pregnant at all - okay from the front maybe a little - but from the back - I just wanted to beat her up!!!!

Aww, that's so sweet! And you should all know that Kate gave me two huge bags of maternity clothes, so I'm set for when I finally start really showing. :goodvibes

Amy :)

Marti and Paul (note I put Marti first so as not to offend  ) I just mapquested the distance between North Hartland, VT and Rochester, NY. It's only 337 miles or about 6 hours. I have 3 boys, 2 of which are about Matt's age. So....when can I expect a visit? You are probably the closest DDA member to my home. Within a couple of weeks we should have the SugarHouse in full swing. Sugar on Snow. yummy. If you really like pineapple I make a mean Pina Colada. Never tried to make a Dole Whip :scratchin .

I read your post that your next trip is to DC so I guess I won't expect you soon, but it would be fun.

Well, I know for a fact you couldn't really beat me up. You saw my tattoos...I have a high pain threshold and I'd take you down in seconds! :lmao:

Amy :)

here is the dole whip recipe I used

it was so easy!!
Pineapple 'dole" whips

Prep: 10 min.

Freeze: 3 hrs.

Makes: 8 servings

2 cans (20 oz. each) DOLE Crushed Pineapple

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 tablespoons lime juice

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries, mini marshmallow or mini chocolate chips, (optional)

1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped

Drain pineapple; reserve 2 tablespoons juice. Set aside.

Place pineapple, lemon juice, lime juice, sugar and reserved pineapple juice in blender or food processor container. Cover; blend until smooth. Stir in cherries or marshmallow or chips, if desired.

Pour into two 1-quart freezer zipped bags. Store bags flat in freezer. Freeze about 1-1/2 hours or until slushy.

Stir gently pineapple slush into whipped cream until just blended, in large bowl. Return to freezer until completely frozen, about 1 hour. Serve.

heres a pic of new cousin http://photobucket.com/albums/c296/shockerdog_27/ his name is browning ross

He's a doll! I got to spend the weekend with a new nephew, Chris Hunter. I absolutely loved it! I got to hold him, and love him and spoil him (not to mention his older sister and brother), and then I got to give him back! Told DH that it's official, I don't need any more babies! That ship has sailed! DH is so sad

He really wanted another boy for Jacob to play with. Oh well, that's what cousins are for.

OK - done with my private posting party. I won't bore anybody with too many details; but we had fun on game night. (not much game playing; Disney Scene It where the kids beat the pants off the adults). Paul pounced all over Kate (she took it very well!!!!) and the kids ran around and had a ball. Kate so very nicely made Dole Whip for us, I don't know which recipe she used. It wasn't exactly like the one at Disney, but I loved it! If you like ambrosia it tasted very similar to that. We also had Amy's famous sugar cookies and they were great! Would you please email me the recipe -- there's no chance that I'll find it in this thread!! We did get to eat Chick Fil-A for dinner on Saturday and again today for breakfast. Now I understand why all of you like it so much! I actually liked it better for breakfast than dinner. Paul had so much I was looking to see if the man sprouted feathers!

We live about 500 miles from Cincy. We also didn't realize just how long a state Ohio is. But Matt was a good sport about the drive and we are very glad to be home.

Just to make sure everybody knows: I was NEVER invited to game night, but that usually doesn't stop me :teeth: . I did however have an accomplice that shall remain nameless. We would have made MANY more phone calls (heck it was Kate's phone anyway) but we didn't have any other numbers. We were thinking of all of you!

Thanks again to our hosts: Kevin and Amy & Steve and Kate. The kids all got along great and we had a wonderful time. Thanks for letting us in!!!

Well, it's nice to know we were thought of. I don't suppose there's any chance of y'all making a trip to Utah one of these days? Tammi said she might accompany her husband on another ski trip. Deep sigh. It's so sad to be so far away from the group. I know there are a bunch of Oregonians around, perhaps we should all split the difference and meet in Idaho.

Only after I get some new threads.
Need to go shopping.
I'm now proud to say I'm a size 8.

Wow! A size 8! That's wonderful!

I just found out I fit in a size 12. I haven't been a size 12 in almost 15 years! Talk about a good feeling!

And nobody can do a DVC presentation better than me!!
oh - I found a counter argument to the all-star resorts are just fine - from another thread

2) The people who handle the events such as the Wishes Cruise are also the people who maintain and staff the resort pools and, at various points throughout the day, they have to take sample readings of the water in each of the resorts pools. Well, anyway, our driver told us that he/she (don't wanna get our driver in trouble) would be happy to stay at any of the WDW resorts, excepting the All-Stars. When I asked why, he/she told us about the daily pool samples and said that it's routine for any single All-Star pool to have a higher urine reading than all of the other resort pools combined. Sheesh. He/she said it was because of the high concentration of families with children that stay there. He/she then said something to the effect of, "You know, you can only shock a pool so many times in a day before you kill someone..."
