Seriously - I think that might have been one of the funniest things I have EVER heard in my life!!!

Good thing we weren't drinking any diet coke (or diet pepsi) at that exact second - there would have been some all over the house.

Unless of course you were AMY, who insisted on regular COKE. What - do you think you're pregnant or something????

Here's a little potty humor.
As I know I've mentioned before, Colby is in the throws of potty training. This has been the longest potty training ever. :confused3 . We have been offering bribes to get him to poop on the pot. He used to do it, but then decided that he like the diaper better. Anyway, he announced tonight that he had to go pee. We sent him to the bathroom. About a minute later he is yelling for me to come to the bathroom. I figured he hadn't made it and needed new underwear. Much to my delight he made it and he pooped all by himself. :cool1: That is huge. I called Chris into the bathroom and we made a really big deal of it. Colby, still sitting on the toilet, looks Chris straight in the eye and announces "that pays money". I thought I was going to die laughing. I hadn't offered him a monetary bribe in a while, but he remembered and was looking for his quarter. Don't we all wish that taking a poop would pay. We'd all be rich. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Why, thank you! By the way, I saw the picture of you and Alyssa where you are on your stomach. I could never do that while I was any amount pregnant.

I don't know how much longer I'll be doing that, but for some reason, this baby is taking his/her time making my stomach expand. Now, my butt and thighs...different story!

You can compliment the Queen's homemade bag Marti. We all know I'm a better cook...there was definitely sugar in my cookies! ;)

Amy :)
I will not deny that for a second!!! Amy's cookies are as good as they look!!!

During lunch on Sunday - we made the decision to just hang out at my house again - and that I would just pick up BBQ and Amy would bring a side dish - so I went to the deli - she went home and made cole slaw and brownies!!!! She is a true Betty Crocker!!

Hey -- we're so tired after our long trip and all you people want to do is bash. So unfair. Is there anybody here that will defend us??

I'll defend you. I was 5 in 1972. I'd just had my first Dole Whip then, too. It was at DL.

Does that help at all, Marti?

Behave yourself Marti, or I'll post pictures of the Chick-fil-a I have for lunch tomorrow! :teeth:

Amy :)

Yes - Amy's cookies are good - but how come NOBODY else on this thread has had any success with them? Does she purposely leave an ingredient out of the recipe before she shares it with us, just so her cookies will be the best????

yesterday afternoon Disney fairytale weddings was on the food channel - steve recorded it for Julia and told her to start planning and he would start saving!!!! he is bonkers - the weddings on there were in the $70,000 range!!!! Do you know how many DVC points we could buy for that!!!

Thank you Glynis!! And I was only 9 in 1972 -- I wasn't exactly ancient!

Since I've seen the bag up close I feel I can comment on this. I will however, deny it in a court of law (forgive me Amy for the following sentences):

The bag is very very well made. It was clearly thought out, everything has a place and everything in its place. Even a place to put your pins. Since I can't sew either, I was totally blown away by how well it was made. It looks great and was very comfortable around my neck. The best part (for me) was that it was not a huge bag; therefore it shouldn't become too heavy for a day in the parks.

Thanks for your thoughts. It looked just perfect for a day at the parks. I made water bottle holders for all my kids since I no longer want to play Gunga Din for them. That has cut down considerably on all the weight in the bag I carry. Next trip, they are each going to have their own fanny packs to carry their own money, autograph stuff, etc. That means a smaller bag for me! I figure Kate's looks perfect for the baggies of dry clothes, wallet for DH, sunglasses, radios, and camera that I will carry. Kate you can count on me for an order if you ever decide to go into business!

That is just so unfair!! We can't get Chick Fil-A here. And thanks for the tip about breakfast, I actually liked the breakfast better than the late lunch we had. Those mini's are really good.

And Glynis - I did notice that they have salads, but we didn't have a chance to have one. I did however have the fresh fruit as a side dish instead of fries and it was really good!

We do make Maple Syrup. We actually sell it at the restaurant that I work for as well as other locations. We make around 500 gallons per year. I know all about not being able to eat it. This is the 3rd year that I have been on a low carb diet while making Maple Syrup. I always end up breaking the diet at least once. There is nothing better than fresh Maple syrup on a warm raised donut. I also love Maple Spread (It's like a really soft maple candy that is awesome on fried bread dough). Just writing about it is making me hungry. If anyone is going to be in Vermont within the next month, please let me know and we can get together for some Sugaring. It is a lot of work, but so much fun.

Deb

Alan also brought me home some maple candy! I've got it hidden away until I can taste it. What is the best way to store it until October? Should I put it in the freezer? Leave it in a cupboard? Advise, please.

well - if she is using my recipe - she missed the step that says - when the cookies stick and get all messed up - throw them away - head to the local bakery and buy the cookies!! :rotfl2:

Although I put in a little more effort than your trip to the deli, truly these weren't gourmet recipes:

Cole Slaw:
bag of shredded cabbage and carrots
jar of Marzetti's cole slaw dressing
mix and refrigerate

Brownies:
box of Betty Crocker mix
follow directions
frost

I'd say we are of the same generation. Too bad these young'uns can't remember all we can, right?

I seriously had a complex around Christmas when everyone was posting about them not turning out! I double and triple checked my recipe when I posted it, I swear! I'll do the same when I PM it to you tomorrow!

Amy :)

Good to know. DS and I are having a mother/son date on Saturday afternoon. Perhaps we'll end up there for lunch. He loves chicken, and I love anything I can keep down. It's been a rough week for me. I've gotten to know the inside of my toilet quite well. DH laughed and said I was never that sick when pregnant. He's so funny, NOT!

That's exactly what my recipe says, too. What an amazing coincidence!

Nothing like intimacy with your toilet!
