I'd say we are of the same generation. Too bad these young'uns can't remember all we can, right?

You should have heard Matt in the car today!!! Whine, whine and more whine! Mom, how come we don't have a tv in the car? There's nothing to do, I'm bored. Meanwhile he had plenty of electronic gadgets to play with, coloring books, reading books etc. to keep him busy. Know what I had to keep me busy on long car rides? Two brothers to beat me up!

Which reminds me...thanks for drinking my favorite wine in front of me, two nights in a row! I'm definitely posting pictures of Chick-fil-a tomorrow!

Amy :)

Good to know. DS and I are having a mother/son date on Saturday afternoon. Perhaps we'll end up there for lunch. He loves chicken, and I love anything I can keep down. It's been a rough week for me. I've gotten to know the inside of my toilet quite well. DH laughed and said I was never that sick when pregnant. He's so funny, NOT!

At least get the small bowl of fresh fruit and see how that goes. Then progress to something bigger. I don't think your stomach will handle a chicken sandwhich, but let us know how it goes.

Nothing like intimacy with your toilet!

Amy :)

Thanks for the sympathy. I can really feel for you with your morning sickness, now.

The sad thing is, it's mostly my fault! I've gotten into bad habits of eating too fast, not chewing the food until it's small enough, and eating too much in one sitting. This is the learning curve the surgeon told me about. Guess he was right. I think, though, that I've learned my lesson. It was not a fun week! Luckily, though, I've survived, and should do well from now on.

Hey - at least I toasted you on your birthday - albeit from Disney!

Alan also brought me home some maple candy! I've got it hidden away until I can taste it. What is the best way to store it until October? Should I put it in the freezer? Leave it in a cupboard? Advise, please.

I haven't tried to keep it for any length of time as I am usually the one making it. It can break down over time so freezing it wouldn't be a bad idea. Better yet, you could just make your own using the Maple Syrup he brought home. Unopened syrup lasts years, and opened syrup lasts a long time if kept in the fridge. There is no secret ingredient to Maple Candy, it is just Maple syrup heated up (I would need to look up the correct temp) then quickly cooled and a lot of stirring. With all the cooking that you do it would be a breeze for you. You'd love the maple cream too.

Hi, guys!

Glad to see everyone having fun tonight - I'm glad the surprise weekend was such a success!

Just wanted to post here in the event it's helpful to anyone - there's a buzz on the Resorts board tonight, as the next round of AP rates might be released tomorrow (some were able to book tonight right before CRO closed). Good luck to anyone needing them! :thumbsup2

Sounds familiar. I had a brother to fight with and an older sister to tattle on us. It wasn't too long before mom and dad bought a 10 passenger van so we could each have our own seats. That put a stop to "he's touching me!"

My kids think they are so downtrodden when we won't let them turn on a movie for rides in the car less than 2 hours long. They lead such a sad life.

Well, perhaps I will stay up for twelve more minutes and toast to your special birthday (with a nice cold bottle of water, followed by my nightly gagging of my prenatal vitamin and nasty antibiotic).

Amy :)

Oh, I'll definitely let you know how it goes. I won't, however, be posting any pictures of Chick-Fil-A for you to see. That would require a camera that works. Maybe someday. You'll just have to imagine it all.
;)

Deb - did we ever tell you our maple syrup story? Apparently somebody told us that maple syrup keeps best in the freezer - so we promptly put ours in there. Paul told me that it had frozen, and I said NO WAY! He proceeds to turn over the entire bottle in the kitchen, and or course, since it doesn't freeze, we now have maple syrup all over the kitchen floor. We hadn't laughed like that in such a long time.

Wow! If you wouldn't mind PM'ing me the recipes for the candy and the maple cream, that would be great! What a treat! Sounds really good!

Well, everyone. It's been fun staying up for the posting party. I never participated in one before. However, it's pumpkin time for me. I've got to turn in and try to get some sleep before the kids have to get up for school.

Good night all! Glad your all back online and feeling groovy!

Sweet dreams Glynis! I'm crashing too...just waiting for Dave's top ten list.

Amy :)

I'm hitting the hay too - 10 hours of driving in a car can tire you out. I really don't understand why, its not like we did anything to make us exhausted. :confused3 Sure wish I had a BIG BOTTLE OF WHITE WINE to toast all of my DDA friends...

Gee - I thought you were just waiting to wish me a happy special birthday. Yeah - I see where I rate.
