My tie dye shirts are now sitting in the dye. The package says to let them soak for 1 hour, I'm thinking that I'll leave them overnight in hopes that the color is more vibrants. All 11 are just being dyed royal blue. I also ordered a couple of the guides for kids that someone posted a link for a week or so ago. It looks really cool so I bought one for my kids and one for my neice and nephew. The polo shirts that I ordered have been shipped. It looks like my Christmas shopping is coming along nicely. I need to pick up a few items while we are at Disney. If all goes well I could be wrapping Christmas presents before long :cool1:

Can you think of other must have items for a Disney trip that I could include in my family's gifts?

Wow, you are always so productive. I wish I could be that way in my personal life. I'm definitely that way in my work life.

I know that the dye I got said overnight and I kept it on for 2 days. The color was so much better than the ones we did with my niece & nephew where we only left them overnight.

I'm also interested in this list because I want to put a special Christmas package together for my niece & nephew for our trip next June. Here's what I have so far:

Autograph pages
Customized Photo album to put their pages & pictures afterwards
Customized clipboard
Light necklaces & bracelets
Tie dye Mickey shirts

Yes, she will be with us. I'm considering letting her do the Pirate Cruise or Alice Tea Party so that would be our only time without her, yet it wouldn't be enough time for anything more than a counter service lunch probably.
How about someplace with really good chocolate cake? Would he like the chocolate lava cake at Kona? Or were you thinking of ordering a cake?

Plus I spent like all of my free time dealing with my bank mess. Which is still not straightened out. They have contacted the federal bank organization to try and get the money back and apparently now I am supposed to wait. Not likely. I am calling the police again on Monday, as I was told to do if they were not helpful at the bank. They are still not being super helpful, wouldn't let me file the dispute or affidavit that the money was taken out, like I have been told I need to do. I don't think they are following the proper procedures and I am going above their head.
:scared1: I can't believe this! I would be so mad. I would definately call the police again and the banking commisionare (sp?) is that by state?

Can you give me details on the washer/dryer. Mom is still looking for one. I think you said Maytag, but which model. How does it work? Will it hold a king sized comforter? Does it shake alot? I know that she will ask me all those questions.
I checked out consumers reports and the LG steam did get the highest ranking at something like 83 points but one of the Kenmores, Whirlpool Duet and Maytag Epic all got 79 points. The saleswoman at Sears said the Maytag Epic was made by Whirlpool. The owner at the small appliance store said all 3 were made by Whirlpool. Sears and Home Depot both carry the LG but neither my appliance dealer or the larger one in a bigger town or Lowes carry the LG. I was afraid to purchase a much more sophisticated machine when the folks I would call if something went wrong couldn't fix it. I think the steam would be cool but that machine was $500 more.

Consumer reports did say that due to new regulations put into effect on January 1st of this year if you want clean clothes you really need to buy a front loader.

I really wanted to buy locally. We have had very good service on everything else we have purchased from these folks. It is a really nice family business. I probably would have gone with the Whirlpool given my problems with the Maytag Neptune (tell your Mom NOT to buy one of those!!!) but my dealer won't be carrying those for another few weeks and I didn't want to wait. I could have gotten the Maytag Epic at Best Buy for $100 cheaper but the local place squeeze us in for delivery and delivery was free (I don't know what Best Buy charges for delivery but it isn't free and I just checked online and it would be more than 2 weeks-I'd spend the $100 in the laundrymat).

The Maytag Epic (and the Whirlpool Duet and the Kenmore as they are all the same machine) is a 4 cu ft as is the LG. It is much bigger than my old Neptune front loader (3. something) and that was way bigger than my old top loader. I was surprised how much I could fit in. The loads did take a lot longer than my old neptune which took longer than a top loader. The "normal" was was close to an hour. The "sanatize" load said it would take 1 hour 55 min. :scared1:, the "whiteset whites" said 1 hour 15 min. I didn't really pay attention so I can't say how long it really took. The laundry seemed much dryer than even my old neptune and it was far less tangled than my old machine.

My old machine had some design flaws-the seal at the door would allow water to collect and there was a mold problem with the machine. There was a class action lawsuit against Maytag due to that and problems with the control panel and other issues. We only had the mold problem and the fact that the bearings went after just 8 years. I had recently notice that our colored hand towels were smelling musty as soon as they got wet. I was about to get all white towels so I could bleach them. That is why I did that sanatize load. I was reading the book on the new machine and it said the use of non-HE detergent (High Efficiency) could lead to a mold problem. I used to use a non HE powder in my old machine so maybe I was part of the problem. We also didn't clean the door gasket with bleach and run an empty load as after as we were told to after Maytag realized the mold was a problem. The design of the door and door seal of this new machine is so much better than the old one. After 1 day of use I am very happy with my new machine.

My old machine was so loud-it sounded like a jet palne. This new machine is so quiet. The sales clerk did talk me into the storage drawer under the machine. A $200 option.:scared1: The guys who delivered the machine put it on the drawer and balanced it. After just one day of doing laundry I am so glad I went with that option. It really makes it so much easier to do the laundry and I'll be doing a lot of laundry on this machine!

UGH! I have been cleaning DS's room for the past FOUR hours!:headache: And all I have managed to do is make a bigger mess! There is a HUGE pile of crap in the middle of the room that I pulled out from under the bed. There are pieces of all sorts of things in little piles here and there. I have almost filled the hallway with stuff to donate, sell at Half Price Books, give to Princess, or throw away. How can his room still be such a wreck when we have taken so much stuff OUT?:scared1: I need another box for train track pieces, but I have decided to take a little break.
:wizard: Hope you can see the light soon. It does have to look worse before it gets better!

OMG is it time for Disney yet?????:dance3: :dance3:
Almost!!!! :grouphug:

Hi everyone--
Well its a lovely saturday and im stuck in the house...definitely feelilng worse today so took some meds, took a nap, and here i am! Guess im not going out tonight!
:wizard: Hope you're feeling better soon!!!!

I sent an email to my coworkers telling them that I'm going to my Happy Place and won't be available by phone or computer! They don't think I can do it. I told them we are talking about "MY HAPPY PLACE".
Now you have to show them that you can!!!!!

I never ordered the personalized maps from disney.com and was looking to do so. For those who did order, would I be better off choosing a lot or a few (or even no) favorites? How do they show up on the map?

Thanks!
I don't know where my are either. They do put everything on the map. I wonder what it would look like if you picked everything.

We are finally FINISHED! And it only took about 9 hours! Insane.:sad2: Now DS will be in there all day tomorrow making a mess because he has so much room.

Tia - On the maps the things you choose are marked in one color, and things you don't choose are marked in another color. Nothing is left off of the map at all.
We had dinner at Citrico's in August and it was fabulous, BUT that was the night they had water cascading down the wall and all over the floor and the suits were running around in a panic. They couldn't grill any of the entrees so the menu was drastically reduced. We were already seated when it happened so we just stayed there. I am pretty sure DH had chicken there - he can't remember. DS and I had fish that was very good.

Stephanie-you will be in Disney soon.

We just got back from the competition...the kids actually lost a ton of pts from last week but they had a BUNCH of revisions they were given 5 days ago. The wind was absolutely horrendous and the field was icky. Cassidy was just telling us the band before they performed had a kid fall and break her instrument and probably a bone. :sad1:

The revisions were because the audience and judges weren't "seeing" the show as was envisioned and the extras were only seen as deterents. The kids perform in Regionals on Monday night at 8. Pixie Dust passing here in Colorado about then would be greatly appreciated.

Huge favor from the disigners here from Cassidy:

Please can one of you help with a design for a dark grey sweatshirt that includes Lion Pride Marching Band and a seperate one(but coordinating) that has just Cass on it for the back of the sweatshirt.

THANKS!!!

I will be working on something for this myself but I would love some extra ideas.

You're welcome. So are you an AKLV owner??? Have you stayed there yet? We have ressies there in December.

No, I haven't stayed at the Villas. I stayed at the resort 3 or 4 years ago and loved it. The only problem was we were all the way at the end of one of the wings. I have a bad back and at the end of the night, it was a very, very long walk to the room. :rotfl2: However, at that time we were smokers and those were the smoking rooms.

People over on the DVC forum say the new rooms are great. We are going to try for a trip there next year, the week after Thanksgiving. This year we are going in Feb and staying in either OKW or BWV and then going again in May & I don't know where we will be staying. I will have used all my points as we went for a week in Sept in a 1 BR and now going for a week in Feb in a 2 BR. Penny

How about someplace with really good chocolate cake? Would he like the chocolate lava cake at Kona? Or were you thinking of ordering a cake?

I figure there will HAVE to be something chocolate involved somewhere, somehow. If the restaurant of choice doesn't seem to have the perfect dessert, then I will probably order one. If there is one way to make Phil happy it is with chocolate cake! I'll have to check out Kona. I always forget what all of the resort restaurants are since we eat primarily in the parks. I have a lot of MK resort restaurants on my list to work in this time, but we've still yet to make it to any Epcot area resorts.

Evening everyone! Guess what I did today?? Haircut AND highlights! :scared: I'm partially blond! (Or "colorful" according to thisBob here!) And my brother appeared at the house today and we made storm windows for the back porch. Lots of fun! (Honestly it was! My brother NEVER spends time with me.)

Hello all!

We just made it back. I am tired and sick!:scared:

I seemed to have picked up some awful bug down in Florida, and it is kicking my behind! The flight home was nothing less than miserable! My head is so stuffed up, that the pressure on the plane just really made me want to cry.

Thankfully I am home, and have some meds here that should work until I can make it to the doctors.

I am glad that my postcards and F&W fest brochures have made it. I didn't bring enough of the large envelopes with me, but I do have a few more if anyone else would like me to send them one!
Just let me know!

I just kind of skim read the last few pages, so if anyone would like to give me a recap, that would be awesome!

Have a great night everyone!
oh Tom I hope you are feeling better.:wizard:

Hi, all. Thank you so much for the prayers and notes of support for Rees (and me!). Keep your fingers crossed. Today is the best in a week. His appetite was better, and his stomach was only distended and hard three times. He still has bouts of pain, but hopefully this new med is the answer.

Sounds like a good day with your brother (no matter how crazy your idea of fun ;) ). Do we get to see pictures of the new hair?

Tia, I am so happy that Phil is FINALLY going on a trip with you and Terra. That is the best news. And for your b'day and anniversary!!!

Oh good! I'm so glad that today has been better. Continued prayers and buckets of :wizard: that he will continue to improve. :grouphug:

Well I managed to trim my nails and I've searched the internet for a Winnie the Pooh 10 lb bowling ball. I cannot find one and that is what Hunter really wants. For some reason I can find them in smaller or larger sizes, but not the size that we need. Ugh. Hopefully he will pick out a different design.

Alrighty, I am being called to read a book so I had better run. After that, I'm thinking that it is snack time. Good night all.

Hi, Glynis. Actually he's not doing well at all and has missed school all week. He was in the hospital on Wednesday. He's having horrible stomach pains, swollen and distended abdomen, and his belly is completely filled with air. They have no idea why, so we're treating it symptomatically and one thing at a time. What we have been trying since the hospital Wed didn't work, and he ended back there again today. So now we try something else until Monday. I have no idea when he'll be back at school. Sorry to be such a downer, but it's been a long week. We were so upset to cancel our WDW trip for last week because of his health and money, but now we totally see it was for the best.

Thanks for any prayers!

Denise,
Prayers for Reese and his Dr.s that they figure out what is causing the little guy so much problems.:wizard:  to you.
