I have to do my own shopping. Alan hates to do it, and this way I know that I'll be getting what I want, instead of what was on sale on December 24 at Walmart! Although that can sometimes be fun, too!

I always choose and purchase my own presents too. I have GREAT taste!! However, last year the girls took their Dad aside and told him to "get with it!" Kristin took him shopping and I got perfume I had mentioned that I liked that I would never have purchased for myself. That was a very nice surprise!

OMG is it time for Disney yet?????

My DGD did a book report on a historical novel set in 1974. Yes, you read right 1974. Back in medieval times when girls weren’t allowed to play sports.

The plumber is here to replace my leaky faucet. My ancient plumbing doesn’t have the same connection as my new faucet. This has caused a major problem and it is looking like he will have to replace the supply lines with PCV. You wanna know how old my ancient house is? 56 same as me.

The cable man just left. He was complaining about how many splits were in my decrepit cable that wasn’t outputting enough signal. I told him to replace my flipping modem. He kept going around my house with his flipping meter telling me how one of my weak splitters was probably dried up and depleting the signal. Finally when he sat in front of my computer, he saw that the flipping modem wasn’t recognizing my IP. You know, I was building computers before he was a glint in his father’s eye.

I need to go where it is never too late to have a happy childhood. I need to go where I can be 10 years old again.

I need to go where I am not the mother of a child old enough to star in a historical novel. I need to go where 56 is not antiquated and in need of replacement. I need to be where the cable repairman graduated preschool!!

I NEED MY HAPPY SPOT!!!!!

Okay, back to cleaning my room while he welds my pipes.

Oh, Steffy!! Sounds like a rough couple of days for you. There are times when everyday happenings makes us feel ancient, aren't there?

This... is PERFECT I need to go where it is never too late to have a happy childhood. In just 11 days we will be at the MK playing with one another again!

Who all is bringing their Pal Mickey to Disney for the October DDA trip? Nicky is coming. He still hasn't decided what outfit he plans to wear. He is leaning toward dressing like Tigger. He knows how much I love Tigger!!!!! He figures then maybe if we see Tigger, I'll get some extra attention thanks to him.

I am not bringing one for myself, but have a Sorcerer Mickey PM I am giving to my nephew. I didn't know about costumes! Where would I find one of those for him????

Im so excited! my cousin from colorado is going to come here for the week after christmas! i have the week off and we were originally going to go to vegas, but we cant do that..so shes going to come here!! i cant wait

Evening everyone! Guess what I did today?? Haircut AND highlights! I'm partially blond! (Or "colorful" according to thisBob here!) And my brother appeared at the house today and we made storm windows for the back porch. Lots of fun! (Honestly it was! My brother NEVER spends time with me.)

Can't wait to see your new hair! myBob and I both got haircuts yesterday and I think my new do is crying out for COLOR. I would love to have some chunky burgundy highlights (??lowlights??) but the upkeep is just not something I want to have to deal with.

Wow, you all were quiet yesterday! Thanks for making my catch-up easy.

Yesterday was fun again, and the show was just as good as last week. Today is their last performance and the cast is happy and sad at the same time. I am not going back to Richmond today. Kristin took one look at me during dessert after the show and said, "Mama... you need to stay home and relax tomorrow. You look tired."

So, after extracting a promise from her to do the same tonight after the performance, I agreed to not make the drive again. Poor Bob.... now I KNOW we will be doing laundry and packing!

Good morning, DDA!

Mom and Dad got home from Branson late last night and had a lot of fun! They met up with their best friends whom they've known since junior high school. I just think that's amazing, though I still have 5 close girlfirends that I met in junior high so maybe I'll have the same thing.

Not much on tap for today, though Mom did say that they wanted to take up out for lunch today. That was a nice surprise so I'm looking forward to that. I'd love some Mexican food, but Rachel won't eat much there usually so I'll have to think of something else I guess.

Well, I hear the shower has stopped so I had better get up there for my turn. Have a good morning everyone!

They have the Pirate costumes at Disney that you could get for him.

I bought a Tigger Disney Water Baby to get Nicky's costume. The Disney Water Baby got some hand me down clothes from another doll and was donated to Goodwill.

Others buy stuffed animals or dolls at Goodwill for the clothes. Others sew them.

You could just make him a matching t-shirt if you guys are wearing them.

I leave today and won't be back again until next Sunday. That leaves me 3 days at home. I'm trying to get some stuff packed this morning. Right now, I'm packing 3 bags. One for work this week, one for the scrapbooking week-end with my cousin (next Friday), and my Disney one.

Becky & Chuck went to church and I told them I was staying home packing. Of course, I had to check in here first.
