Bless you, Karen. My daughter does not go to Tech, but she has many friends who do, and I have a few former students who are also there. We have heard nothing more than you have at this point. It is so horrific. This is what we are coming to????

I hopefully remember correctly that Elin's DD goes to Virginia Commonwealth Univ., which is in Richmond.

The shootings were at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. They are now reporting 31 dead, including the gunman. What senselessness.

Yes, you are correct that it is VCU in Richmond, Robyn. Thanks for posting this so y'all would not continue to worry.

I did get some good news today--My brother registered to do the bike ride again this summer! im so proud of him--hes going to do the 25 mile ride instead of the 10 mile..My whole family will be going for the weekend and visiting with Alyssa's family..i wont be doing the ride, but im looking forward to spending some time with her family and helping out at the ride!

So it will be interesting to see if the Finance Manager has a job tomorrow. He beat the CFO in the marathon by 7 1/2 minutes. The CFO is very competitive. I'm sure he'll have some injury excuse. He's actually a great guy (the CFO) but it will be interesting to see what he has to say.

I am off to take some night time cold medicine. Too bad it isn't nearly as good as it used to be. I do still have 1 dose of the old stuff left but I think I'll save that.

Has anyone ever ordered the long sleeved polo shirts from Disney Shopping? Do they fit true to size? I want to order us each one to wear Christmas Day. They are on sale for $7.99, plus 15% off.

Besides Gary's Grumpy hat he bought last time he went(does this tell you anything ), this will probably be the only Disney item he will wear for our trip(he already agreed to wear the polo because they have one in hunter green ).

Beware of Disney sizing! There is no rhyme or reason to it. I had to send in the DL shirt my bosses bought me for an exchange because it was WAY too tight, even though it is my normal size. I am crossing my fingers that I actually DO get a shirt back from them because the whole process made me nervous. Exchaning park merchandise is different than Disney Shopping, though. Good luck!

So I went to my 2nd interview tonight, and I really liked the interviewer! She was very nice and asked great questions. She was a nanny herself for nearly 20 years, so she "gets it". I certainly HOPE I can find placement through them instead of the agency from this morning, but it depends on which agency the families I like are listed with. Families with new babies don't know one agency from another, so there isn't any logic to who they list with. That means the nannies have to list with EVERYBODY for maximum exposure. Of course if the one from this morning refuses to refer me for anything since I have a child (what was I thinking, having a child?) then being listed with them will be pointless. Grrr.
