Thought I'd post some pics of Mo's birthday celebrations...

Saturday we had family come in from MI/PA for the day and we had a little party for her.

Thanks for all the replies to my emergencies. They came in really handy on my second shirt. The first one, however, has some parchment paper stuck to it. Anyone got any easy ways to get the parchment off, or should I just chalk it up to experience, and get another shirt?

Wash the shirt and it may come off or throw it in the dryer and peel while hot?

Here's a couple of cakes we are looking at as well - we found out our cake person - www.thecakeloft.net - so getting some more ideas together!

wow, what a tragedy in Virginia. My heart goes out to those families.

It seems that everytime a news special aires on one of the past shootings it spurs another round. Just a couple of weeks ago they did a special on the columbine shootings complete with the personal videos from the shooters and now a new shooting with more victims. It is horrific.

The first cake is gorgeous! But you girls with the cakes really are a very bad influence on me! Now I want cake!



So I went to my 2nd interview tonight, and I really liked the interviewer! She was very nice and asked great questions. She was a nanny herself for nearly 20 years, so she "gets it". I certainly HOPE I can find placement through them instead of the agency from this morning, but it depends on which agency the families I like are listed with. Families with new babies don't know one agency from another, so there isn't any logic to who they list with. That means the nannies have to list with EVERYBODY for maximum exposure. Of course if the one from this morning refuses to refer me for anything since I have a child (what was I thinking, having a child?) then being listed with them will be pointless. Grrr.

I just spent a little while on the Dillard's website with Cassidy. I think we will be able to find a dress there...that's not too out there or too revealing or too expensive. I just bribed Cassidy that if we could find a dress under $50 I'd get her Mary Jane Crocs to go with it!!

Thanks for the compliments on the girls...What's funny about the candles is that Molly has for the past 2 years asked to blow out the candles when we light the menorah. And of course we keep telling her no those candles don't get blown out. I am sure we are confusing her!!!

Don't parents interview the agency like I did a pediatrician? Wouldn't the smart parents pick the better agency?

So, they were watching that, and we also had footage from the P&P party parade, and Aurora came on the screen. My DN3 said "Aurora" and my DN5 said "Sleeping Beauty" at the same time. I then asked my DN5, "what's her other name?" and she promptly responded "Briar Rose." Someone's bringing that kid up right!
