The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 24

We need prayers here: A local marching band(Alameda) semi carrying it's equipment jack-knifed this morning ending up on top of a car carrying some of the band members. The dad of one passed away. I am sure this will affect all of the marching bands around.

Prayers sent. Have you gotten an update on this lately?

I am going to be honest with you all.......I will be reading along but I don't promise I will post...real life stinks right now...this stuff with my grandparents is bugging me and there's other things......and I am just an emotional mess and I'm not even sure why (and no Jennifer it isn't what you think...not even a possibility )

So you all are in my thoughts and prayers ...hopefully this will be better in a couple of weeks.

Theresa -- sending a huge and prayers to you. My new motto since Mom passed away is to take one day at a time. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am finally sitting down for just a minute... each of the families should start getting here any time now! Kyle surprised me and was home when I got home from the early church service! Of course, it wasn't much of an "Easter together". He cut his finger and had to get it stitched up (he considered just doing it himself, the dork!). Now our drain and garbage disposal are acting up. Ten minutes ago, we had (sorry for the image ahead)... what looked like vomited, finely chopped potato skins and brown water filling our kitchen sink. Totally not appetizing, sitting right across from the island full of food. UGH! He went to the store and is now trying to fix it.... I'm trying not to freak out (hence being here)

We have cheesy potatoes made and ready to bake... the ham is thawed in the fridge, ready to be cooked and glazed ... deviled eggs, angel food cupcakes and a fruit plate (as well as tons of candy) are out - and, of course, already being consumed.

When everyone gets here, mom and I will try and figure out how to correlate the cooking times (she's bringing corn souffle, green beans, etc). Then we'll have our egg hunt while the (early) dinner is cooking. Yes, all adults and still an egg hunt This is the first year I've hidden the eggs (80 of them ), so I'm a bit nervous about the outcome!

I can't wait to see pictures of your day... especially all those cute kids in their easter outfits, if it was warm enough (or you were prepared enough) to wear them. My adorable, spring/Easter dress is hanging in my closet with the price tags on since it's been snowing for 5 days now.

My boys are off today, but I'm at work for a while this morning. Randy is bringing them here, then we'll leave after I get the new admin settled so that the boys can play and enjoy their day off.

I had a very long stressful day at work yesterday. I was hoping to only be there 6 hours, but it turned into 10. The only good thing is it was time & a half We finally had dinner around 8 last night.

Garrett is back to school today, but Riley is off for one more day. Both have baseball practice tonight & Garrett's 1st game is on the 28th. I work today, but have the next 3 off The best news is, dh will be going back to work this week Winter layoffs suck, but not much road work you can do in the winter here.

me. The bathrooms are cleaned, I have dusted, swept the floors, laundry is done, just have to scrub the tub, ugh. Of all the cleaning there is I hate scrubbing the tub.

I agree 100% that is the worst job in the house. It takes forever with our crappy water here. That you tub cleans easily today

Here is a picture of Leighanna with the Easter Bunny. I just added a little frame around it. It definitely was not as good of an Easter Bunny as Amy's was! My baby is growing up!

I should have realized I wasn't alone in this. It seems in the DDA that I can always find a group of people that are just like me regarding certain things. It isn't always the same group of people depending on what we are discussing. That's what I love about this group. We accept each other for who we are but usually have someone who is like us and can understand.

Well things aren't any better here.....grandma has decided that she will be "sick" at supper because she really does think Abi is doing this on purpose.
Jim told me a little of what he said to her and what she said back...she just flabbergasts me.

One apt. we went to look at today was rented when we got there...but the other one might actually work better for us anyway...apts are definitely smaller than we are used to but there are no houses for rent around our area....we've downsized before we can do it again.

Continued good luck for find an apt quick! Just keep your mind focused on having a new space for you & your family.

Bob and I are headed to Richmond at about 4:00 to take the girls out to dinner. It was just too much to ask of this Mom not to be with her daughters on Easter!

The Easter Bunny stopped by and left a gorgeous journal for Kristin and an antique English china trio set for Kathrin. Won't they be surprised?

Marci-as of last night one of the band students was still in the hospital. It's a miracle to me after seeing the wreckage that all but one survived. Members of the band are going to play for the service of the dad....I got so choked up hearing that.

Abi is home not feeling good....I didn't have to work anyway....but I don't feel so hot...but I don't know if it's all in my head or if I'm sick...so I think I'll go cuddle with my sickie and figure it out.

Good morning. We will be hitting the road around noon to head back to Virginia. I hate the thoughts of that long drive. The visits always go too quickly.

It sounds like most of us had good Easters.

Deb - I really like the new cut/color. I went darker a few years ago and have found that I need to have lighter highlights. It gives the gray something to blend into.

We are adding onto our house and the girls are wanting a Disney bathroom. Imagine that...... Any ideas or photos? I have checked Disneyshopping but have not found anything that excites me. We will probably do a Mickey/Minnie theme or maybe tinkerbell as the girls are ages 4-11. I would love to see some photos if anyone has some.

We are adding onto our house and the girls are wanting a Disney bathroom. Imagine that...... Any ideas or photos? I have checked Disneyshopping but have not found anything that excites me. We will probably do a Mickey/Minnie theme or maybe tinkerbell as the girls are ages 4-11. I would love to see some photos if anyone has some.

Do your girls like the new Disney Fairies line? That could be really cute! Sorry I don't have any photos. DH is just barely starting to jump on the Disney bandwagon, and I haven't been able to talk him into much, yet!

Good morning, DDA!!! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day! Of course, the forecast is for rain and colder temps starting tomorrow, so I'm determined to enjoy today!

I'm so proud of myself! I got up at 5:30 this morning, and went for a walk outside. It was so peaceful and nice! I hope things stay relatively nice so I can make it a habit again. I've got about 5 pounds I've gained back since Christmas that I need to get rid of.

No big plans today. Just putting away Easter decorations, cleaning a couple of bathrooms, and maybe starting to clear my garden area! Alan started some seeds for me in a mini greenhouse, and I can't wait to get them in the ground. I know I won't be able to for about another month, but I can at least start clearing the garden of last years old stuff. Yum!! Home grown veggies!!!

Theresa - I'll continue to pray for the families of the band members. What a sad thing. I hope that you and Abi both feel better soon, and enjoy some much needed cuddle time!

I would love to have a room just for Disney items. I always see things I would like, but have no place to put it. Maybe once the boys are grown I can use one of their rooms.
