Hi! Just got home from the city a few minutes ago. Boy was it cold!!!!

We got in early so we decided to pop into Tussaud's wax museum first. I was there in 2001 but Katie had never been. We saw Johnny Depp as Captn Jack.

he had a whole room to himself. We bypassed the horror part, neither of us wanted to see that. We spent about 2 hours in there. After that we went to the theater which is only 2 doors down. Mary Poppins was fantastic!!!! The singing & dancing were great. The woman who played MP was the same woman we saw in Beauty & the Beast last year..she is terrific. "Step in Time" was one of the best dance numbers I have ever seen done on the stage. Lots of fun! After the show I took katie to Ellens Starlight diner which is a 50's diner where the waitstaff all sing. (most are up & coming actors/singers) I am going to try & get some pictures up.
How is everyone tonight?
Sounds like a great day, Anne Marie. I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures.

glad you 2 had a great time.

Jen - Enjoy your dinner!

Theresa - I'm glad you got that report out of the way!:thumbsup2

I was just talking to DH about our trip in 3 weeks. He was asking if it is EMH at any of the parks the night we arrive, but it isn't. Besides, our flight doesn't get in until 8:20 so even with EMH we probably wouldn't have made it to a park. Better to get an early start on Friday morning!:yay:

A quick trip to downtown Disney and a hot fudge sundae would be a nice way to start the trip. ;)

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! I would have loved to see the horror part in the museum :hmghost: We are going to Madame Tussaud's while in Europe, I really look forward to it!

Are you going to the 1 in London?

i know jello with gummy fish in it but Olivia does not eat Jello. gold fish crackers and fish sticks are the first things that come to mind.

Don't forget making a pool or ocean themed cake. I've done both and they were pretty easy. I think I found the recipes on Family Fun's website. I also found a chip and dip dish that was pool themed.

You could make sandwiches and cut them in the shape of fish with cookie cutters. Otherwise, I'm not sure what would fit the theme. I'll have to think about that part.

For a cake, you could do a simple Ariel cake or maybe try this:
http://www.womansday.com/recipes/9686/fish-bowl-cake-page2.html Depending on how much cake you needed, maybe you could do something similar to the Barbie in a dress cakes (where the doll stands into cake shaped like her skirt), but cut a 9x13 cake into the fins and work an Ariel doll into the top. Or maybe do the dress cake with most of the "dress" being ocean with fish around her and then park of it be the fins with Ariel coming out of the top.

For games, you could do a few swimming type races and games if enough swimmers are there. Otherwise, maybe a ball/shell toss into a net in the pool, maybe a fishing game where you put necklaces or other treasures in the pool or in a wading pool and the kids try to catch them.

Instead of a treat bag maybe you could find a little treasure box type of container and fill that.

You could come up with games using "human objects" that Ariel collected. Maybe using a fork to have a race like an egg on a spoon buy maybe a chocolate gold coin on a fork. She also collected pipes so you could find the ones that kids can blow bubbles through. Actually anything with bubbles would be good. Swim through hoops, dive for treasures or fish for treasure like at carivals. Give me a few minutes and I can come up with more

I'm going to finish watching this show and then head to bed. Have a good night!

You could get little buckets and cook something in them. Maybe mac and cheese with a breadcrumb coating on top. It would look like a bucket of sand. If you could find really little shovels for them to eat with that would be very cool :cool1:

Deb

ETA: make that shells and cheese

ooh I like those ideas I will have to watch the movie again to see what all she collected.

Only 44 more days and I'll be at Disney! If I ever make it through the next 5 weeks, I will definitely need this trip! Off to work some more.

I had a super busy day, and I'm glad that it is over. I hope that I can find time tomorrow or Friday to come up with a design for the audience challenge. I have the program, now to find the time.

This one wouldn't post right..anyway here it is again...
