Jen great pictures.

I did some investigating on our half marathoners, I just left a message for Glynis and have not heard back from her.

Jennifer and Kyle did well, they finished in a little over 3 hours. Jennifer has been having knee problems, besides that they are having a good trip. They relaxed a little after the half and Illuminations was just getting ready to start in the background, I could here it on the phone. It is very crowded and they sat there for an hour waiting for it to start, it was about 85 degrees out today. She said the rooms were pretty much all sold out. They are heading back to Ohio tomorrow, as it was just a quick trip for them.

Becky! I'm so sorry that I never got back with you. My phone was having some problems on the trip, and so I basically just turned it off!

I'm glad to know that Jennifer did so well! I was so bummed not to be able to see her and Kyle! 3 hours is fabulous! My BIL and I finished at 3 hours and 27 minutes. Not too shabby for a first timer, eh?

I ask you all... does this woman look like she will be 40 tomorrow!?!?!?!

Tammi and I had a wonderful dinner. We were there for FOUR hours!!

I think she looks beautiful, as does her dinner partner! I'm so glad that you guys had fun! We celebrated Tammi's birthday at WCC! I'm just sad that Tammi couldn't be with us!

Great pictures Jen!

Please say prayers for my FIL, Mel. His last childhood friend died today. There were 4 of them that used to hang out as kids. They would have reunions every year with the 4 guys and their families. They continued for years (even after Chuck & I married). This is going to hit him very hard.

I may end up driving him to Milwaukee for the funeral on Monday. It is a holiday for me. Chuck starts his classes at the college that day and can't really miss that. Chuck's SIL is having hip surgery so his brother can't take Mel. I don't know if Mel will let me take him but I would love to spend the time with him if he'll let me.

Hi! Just got home from the city a few minutes ago. Boy was it cold!!!!
13.gif
We got in early so we decided to pop into Tussaud's wax museum first. I was there in 2001 but Katie had never been. We saw Johnny Depp as Captn Jack.

he had a whole room to himself. We bypassed the horror part, neither of us wanted to see that. We spent about 2 hours in there. After that we went to the theater which is only 2 doors down. Mary Poppins was fantastic!!!! The singing & dancing were great. The woman who played MP was the same woman we saw in Beauty & the Beast last year..she is terrific. "Step in Time" was one of the best dance numbers I have ever seen done on the stage. Lots of fun! After the show I took katie to Ellens Starlight diner which is a 50's diner where the waitstaff all sing. (most are up & coming actors/singers) I am going to try & get some pictures up.
How is everyone tonight?

What a great day! Sounds like a lot of fun all around.

Chris and I are trying to decide where to make reservations for our anniversary. We will have the boys with us and we love WCC, but we would also like to try Le Cellier and Concourse Steakhouse. We will probably do a character breakfast that morning too. I think we will have the DDP for 2 days later in the trip so we could try the other restaurants then. So WWYD?

Deb

Chuck says LeCellier before Concourse Steakhouse. He thought it was more meat & potatoes type fare vs. special sauces. He didn't think that Concourse would be as kid friendly.

The food was great at both of them.

Vicki--

I will be praying for Mel...I hope he'll late you take him to the funeral

You could get little buckets and cook something in them. Maybe mac and cheese with a breadcrumb coating on top. It would look like a bucket of sand. If you could find really little shovels for them to eat with that would be very cool :cool1:

Deb

ETA: make that shells and cheese

See, I had to get my lame attempts at ideas in earlier before Deb came home and gave the really good ones! ;)

:welcome: home Glynis!!

Great pictures Anne Marie..:dance3:

Glad to hear you may soon be painfree Deb.:goodvibes

:wizard: :wizard: to all in need.

I wrote a long note and just erased it. I have a meeting in the morning and I'm going to get some sleep. Nite, nite DDA... hang in there..:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

maybe I will do the cakes in pails. with graham cracker crumbs.

That reminds me....The character meal in California Adventure used to have a dessert on the kid's menu that was vanilla pudding coated in crushed vanilla wafers and it looked just like sand. I think they have candy/chocolate shells out there that you could use to decorate.

night Steffy

Well i am home dinner with Steve..im uploading pictures now so ill share some..
He is definitely leaving for Iraq on Tuesday morning..He is coming ove rMonday night say "see you later"
The table that they sat as at tonight was the same one we sat at last time he got deployed, as well as the same one we sat at with Alyssa...very strange because the place is HUGE!!!

I'm glad that you had a nice night, Jen, and especially that you got to have your send off dinner with Steve. I know how important that was to you all. Great pictures!

hmm will have to look.

I knew all of you ladies would have good ideas.

I don't think we'll be doing any signature meals. I am a very picky eater so I am finding it hard to find restaurants that have apps, entres and desserts that I would eat. The kids are picky eaters too. Chris will eat more than we will, but he is still not very daring. That is one of the reasons that we would only do the DDP for 2 days, we wouldn't eat enough otherwise to make it worthwhile. I think that we will probably try all 3 restaurants during the trip, it is just which restaurants on which days. The kids have each requested an character meal and all 3 want to to WCC. We have a lot of counter service places that we like and some that we haven't tried in the past so we'll enjoy trying those too. I find that I am much happier preparing a quick meal at home than spending hours in a restaurant. The kids are very well behaved in restaurants, but if it were a daily thing I'm sure they would easily get bored.

I am also very concerned that if we have the DDP for too many days we would continually over eat just because the food is free. I've worked way to hard to lose this weight to put it all back on during our trip. Chris too.

Chuck & I are the same way. I'm trying to push myself past my comfort level as I get older but I'm still happiest with regular fare!

Becky! I'm so sorry that I never got back with you. My phone was having some problems on the trip, and so I basically just turned it off!

I think that is EXCELLANT!!! You did an amazing job and we are all so proud of you!

Okay I think I am heading off to bed.

Good night all!!
