IMMEDIATE PRAYERS NEEDED PLEASE!!!

Dawn just called me. Caroline is in the NICU, because she choked on her spit-up this afternoon to the point she couldn't breathe and had a seizure. Luckily, she and Dawn had just been to the doctor, so they rushed back and he stopped the seizure. She's had a spinal and she's about to undergo an EEG. So far everything has come back positive, so they're praying the seizure was a result of her lack of air. Hopefully Caroline just has an extreme case of reflux, but they won't know for a few hours yet.

I will keep you updated as soon as I hear anything else!

That is so horrible. Please keep us posted and tell Dawn we're all praying hard. It is so scary and unbearable having your child in the NICU. Please post as soon as you hear anything else.

I'm impatiently waiting for Dawn to call back with an update, but meanwhile I found a picture that is making me do this :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Guess who's married to the mean lookin' guy!

Are you looking for a place for Flat Stanley to visit? He can come here. This is actually how our traveling Pal Mickeys got their start. I suggested (I think!) that we needed to do a Flat Mickey and it grew like Topsy to become the Adventures they are now on!
Then maybe you could hand him off to me!

Is anyone here familiar with the "Flat Stanley" Project??

In a nut shell: (this is our letter)

Hi there!!
As part of our integrated Reading, Writing, Language, Social Studies, and Mathematics programs we have read a funny book called Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. The book is about a young boy named Stanley who is accidentally squished "as flat as a pancake" when a bulletin board falls on him. Stanley is very, very flat but otherwise fine. The story goes on to tell how Stanley discovers some real advantages to being flat. He can slide under doors, go down into sidewalk grates, and even fold himself up small enough to fit into an envelope and be mailed to California for an exciting vacation.
We are sending FLAT STANLEY to visit cities all over America and the WORLD. I have selected you to be FLAT STANLEY's "host family" and hope that you will send him back to me after a short visit. We would also appreciate it if you could snap a few pictures of Stanley’s visit so we can put them in our journal.
Thank you for letting my FLAT STANLEY come to visit you!

I am looking for volunteers!! Anyone willing to take on a Stanley??
ill take stan

The sky darkened and the wind blew and the thunder raged... and we got the same 49 drops that Nicholas experienced on the soccer field this week! We so badly need rain.

And in answer to your Ernesto question... looks like Debbie is spared ( :cool1: ) and we will finally get rain this weekend.

By the way... I tried like the dickens to get on the DIS and post this afternoon with no luck. So I know I am probably behind, but it just was not cooperating!
It has been raining here almost all day they are calling for 6 to 10 inches of rain. We had tornado warnings for our county and there were flash floods. Plus if Ernesto heads this way like it appears he will, it will be an interesting weekend.

When will you be going in 07?

Assuming that they offer free dining again (and I really hope they do since it is already out in the UK!) we will go 9/23 to 10/2 at the CR Tower. If not, we will probably go at Christmastime again at the GF (but only 7 days, not 10 days :()

OMG I'm so excited! I got my gas bill today! (never thought you'd hear those two sentances together did ya? :teeth: )
To give you a back story...we have a gas line that goes behind our house to our barn. About three years ago, the line broke (small leak but enough to scare the crap out of us) and it was deemed our fault because it's a private line not the public gas line. Since we are on budget our gas bill shot through the roof for a year and a half (the leak wasn't noticed for almost two weeks.) It was at $172 for a year, then dropped to $98 then this year it's been at $66. (Becuase we were on budget, we have to pay a set amount each month; because of the leak, it went up alot and we've had a HUGE balance since then.) They just refigured our balance again (budget up in August) and we *still* have a huge balance with the gas company, they dropped our budget to $25!!!
It's hard not to close the account and get the $ that they've been sitting on, but it'll be a live saver this winter knowing we only have to pay $25.
That's my exciting news for today. :teeth:

Chanon,
Anytime a bill gets out of hand and you finally can see clear, that is cause for celebration.

I can relate to a broken gas line
Two weeks ago I was driving to work and was listening to traffax and heard the cross road up ahead had a gas leak. I keep going rounding the bend and in front of my DS's house is the gas co, police cars, people and lots of commotion.
I was surprised I was able to get thru because they blocked the other side. Anyhow, I called their house, each of their cell phones and finally reached my son. He said the plumber while digging up the front had accidently hit the gas line. I told him it was on the radio and I was just concerned. His reply, --"I just left the house, they have it under control and I have errands to run." Naturally, I was a wreck until I knew they had it under control. All I could think was if I didn't hear a big whump, things were fine and they got it repaired. But it took over 5 hours.
The only good thing was they got a new gas meter :lmao:
All this because they had a broken sewer pipe and had to have it taken care of.

My fear of putting it on a colored shirt is that it will lose the soft, shadowy effect since I have to use the dark paper....

Thankfully my ankle cleared up after about 10 days. It was not pretty until it did. A lot of ice and elevating it. Plus pain meds of course.

Stephanie has her boot off finally and she is walking much better now.

:cool1: :cheer2:

That's great I am glad to hear this. But both of you still need to be careful so you don't reinjure your ankles.
