I need to get going, but I'll be back for a little while this afternoon.

I posted my last post at 12:40 a.m. At 1:00 I was calling 911. I had just gone from the kitchen into the living room when Bob went into the kitchen to let the dog out. I heard him say, "Elin... you are going to have to give me a hand. We have a problem." I went into the kitchen and the whole top of our stove was on fire. After trying to smother the fire with pot lids and having no luck, I ran into the laundry room and threw the breaker. I then called 911 and the fire dept. was here within 10 minutes. Damage to the stove is not too severe and the rest of the counter top is not bad either. But our house REEKS of smoke, even though they used their high powered fans to suck it out. I ate dinner out with friends tonight and Bob did not use the stove to cook his dinner. The fire marshall thinks it was probably a short in the burner.

Now, for some odd reason I am WIDE AWAKE and don't think I will sleep much tonight. Just had to come on here and "talk" to someone about it since Bob is as upset as I am.

Elin -- glad to hear that the fire didn't damage things too badly. Hope the weather is nice today so you can air it out some.

Debbie -- love your tribute to June!

Morning, Marci. :wave2:

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

Today WILL be better. I have spoken. Make it a good one.

Hi, Elin. I was thinking the same thing. I think June was looking over you last night. I fell in to bed just exhausted, and fell asleep right away, but woke up around 2 and couldn't really sleep after that. I hope your lesson plans go well this morning and your students play well today.

Within the last week, someone posted that they didn't know why, but they woke up in the night and knew they needed to send out prayers. Who was it and which night was it? I'll let you know why after I figure out if my suspicions are correct.

It was me, and the answer is of course yes. I may have to borrow Jen's flowers too.

Morning Claire........I was thinking this morning when I was looking at everyone's siggie's that I would go back and add June's "tag fairy qoute" when I got to work. I knew I would have to go back a few pages where someone had already posted. Then I see your siggie and didn't have to. I hope you don't mind that I copy/pasted from you.

I keep thinking the same thing. When I got to MK on my trip I'm going to stop by that bench, to say hi to June and to have my picture taken in her honour. And if I can find a purple rose I will take one for her.

Wouldn't it be neat if Disney would allow us to put a small flower pot beside Goofy. We could all bring 1 purple silk rose and leave with Goofy in honor of June.

During all this sadness today, Leighanna took it upon herself to try to cheer me up. She told me to come into the family room and this is what I found.

She said that a tea party with all her Disney friends, would sure to make any one happy. And you know what it did.

Teaparty2.jpg

I told her that Batman wasn't part of Disney. She said that he was there for me. I asked her why? She said he is a superhero, and that I was her superdad.

God sure knew what he was doing the day Leighanna was born.

That little girl is wise beyond her years. You should be a proud Dad.

Kate & Kelli-great photos!

Debbie-I love your new signature.

Tom-what a special little girl you have!

Beth/Deb-do you know what age boyscout starts? Joe was asking me about it tonight. He's still too young isn't he?

Joe's first full day is tomorrow. I wonder how Emma will handle that.

Good night all.

Cub scouts start in first grade. I think that is later than girl scouts.

I'm impressed. I wish I could be that full of life. Lately I feel as if I have absolutely no energy. I know I'm overdue to have my thyroid checked but I feel like it's more than that maybe just the effect of stress or the 3 hours of sleep a night. I am going to the doctor in a couple weeks maybe I'll get some answers then.
Christi, You also must remember there is one big difference between you and I. You have 4 kids and I have none. Taking care of those kids whether they are in school or not takes up an incredible amount of your energy. :thumbsup2 So while I am doing a variety of different things you are caring for your kids and your family which is very time consuming.

Are things any better at home these days?? :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug:

Fire is my biggest fear. Yes, I'm still awake. I'm going to be worthless in a few hours. Just worthless. Can't sleep either.

I'm so glad you were still up and saw the fire. This has such a better result!!!

So glad you two are okay. I couldn't handle anymore bad news.

One of my DGD's friend's uncle has died, they suspect foul play. What a day I've had. I couldn't lose you too.

Steffy- Sending :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug: to you.

So last night when I left here I of course like always couldn't sleep. I made myself do other things, I watched Sleeping Beauty, did some cleaning, homework, etc. I figured no one was going to be around like the past couple nights. Unfortunately I was wrong. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I guess I should have came back and checked to see if anyone was here, but I didn't.

:grouphug: :grouphug: That was a close call. It's a good thing that you were awake to find the fire or it could have been much worse. Looks like you had a guardian angel last night.

Becky - you certainly are driven, that will take you far in life. I loved your Statue of Liberty picture, too funny, it looked like your were having a great time.
Debbie

For those of you who've never been to Whispering Canyon Cafe, I had no choice whether or not I wanted to be the Statue of Liberty. :rotfl2: I was sitting there and next second I know someone is playing in my hair. It was the waitress, turns out she is stuffing the straws into my ponytail, but I honestly had not idea what she had done to me. Next thing she takes my camera and is telling me to hold up my milkshake like the statue of Liberty and that is what results. :thumbsup2 Unfortunately straw papers and rain don't mix, as I left the straws in my hair when I left the Wilderness lodge and it was raining.
