Welcome back Loco. We missed you!

I also am going to enjoy watching how they now justify everything that was so horrible just a week ago. Funny how that reality thing comes back to get ya!

hey Loco - I thought banning meant forever- how are you able to post? I thought that was what happened to you. Never thought we'd see you again. Glad you are back :)

I agree - it will be nice to sit back for four years and not to have defend the president

My banning message said "You have been banned until Nov. 11." It was for being argumentative. That's all it said.

Hi guys

Just checking in. I have been working more at my PT job since Chritmas is getting closer so I have not been around. The pace of this thread just awes me. looks like I missed a bunch. I'll have to go back and read some.

Hope you all are doing well.

Welcome back. this thread really flies. I have given up trying to get back up to speed when the real world intrudes.

Hi everyone:

I got banned! Right before the election! I've followed along on your comments since then, and as I predicted the posters on the Conservative Thread are right back to their happy, productive, fulfilling lives. I LOVE CONSERVATIVES!!

So, the election…

I'm so glad it's over, and actually so relieved I get to take the next 4 years off from defending my president, his policies, the war, etc. It all belongs to President Obama now, and I get to sit back and say, "Hey, how's that Obama presidency workin' out for ya'?" every time another business closes, another 10,000 jobs get lost, another chunk of change disappears from our paychecks, another terrorist threat pops up, etc.

I was especially amused today when Team Obama announced that they won't be rolling back any of Bush's executive orders on terrorist questioning, terrorist surveillance, etc. You know, all the stuff they were going to impeach Bush for. Now, Obama has seen 1 or 2 daily security briefings, and he's like "Oh, crap. Ummmmm, yeah, the bad guys are kinda bad. Scary, even. That Bush guy, he was a freakin' genius!" And now Russia is meeting with Cuba, forming a groovy alliance and all. Good times.

Yup. I'm settling into my comfiest chair, with a nice hot cup of coffee, and I'm gonna watch the show. It's going to be quite interesting, and such a disappointment, I think, for a whole bunch of folks walking around with Kool-Aid mustaches. How do you suppose they'll handle the disappointment?

Welcome back. I got 10 points and they expired yesterday (now to find my signature in this messy room....).

I predict the disappointment will not be handled well.......yet am certain it will still be Bush's fault. ;)

Bwahahahaha I thought our thread got locked because our old one was bumped and locked as a jumbo thread.:rotfl:

I did too. I couldn't figure out what was going on for a minute!

I took a peek over at the BO thread. I have no idea why? They seem to have decided that they don't care what we think. I say :cheer2: They still think we are all wacky though. Poor guys they are in for such a disappointment. I don't think we'll look so wacky next year. May I add I really hope for our country's sake I am wrong and BO does a great job.

I did too! An email that I opened kicked me back to Nov 6th-it was like Groundhog Day!

Hey Loco!!!! Welcome back to the land of the posting!!!!

Welcome back, loco! :cool1: Love your outlook on hussein's presidency. I'll join in my LaZBoy, grab me a hot chocolate, sit back and watch the
'splody heads from the PTS. :happytv:

I am worried about this one. Glenn Beck had a statistics expert on his radio show today talking about this race. When he examined the results, only the Franken/Coleman race show any anomalies. As they discover "new" uncounted ballots, they should run about the same percentages for each candidate as the others that were cast, but they are not. 100% of these votes are going to Franken, with Coleman actually losing votes.

Wow, this really something.

LOL! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That is too funny! I think I'll join you.

Yes. An election official had ballots in his/her car and they were ALL for Franken. Who would have guessed that one?

Surprise, surprise, surprise....:sad2: :sad2:

Some of us aren't lucky enough to get FOX News. :sad1:

And there are some of us who pay a ton of $$$ extra each month because they are addicted to it!!!;)

I really wish the satellite people would do ala carte.

Some of us aren't lucky enough to get FOX News. :sad1:

 If I see it on YouTube in the coming days, I'll post the link.

Greta's about to go on her snow machine ride with Todd. :rotfl2:

So they seriously found and counted votes for Franken out of the trunk of a car? Seriously? The GOP needs to send an army of lawyers up there NOW if they haven't already. This reeks, IMO.

I thought it was really funny this week when H had his press conference and said that he was going to meet with his economic advisor's to come up with a plan for the economy. Excuse me, but you have been running for 2 years and yapping about all your plans and now it is crunch time and it turns out you never had one in the first place.:confused3

I took a peek over at the BO thread. Poor guys they are in for such a disappointment. I don't think we'll look so wacky next year.

I think it's already beginning. First clue....they've scrubbed bo's agenda on his website. I don't think it's going to take a year but, I'm sure they will find some justification....they won't be able to face the truth

I think it says something about Bush's character that he can feel so gracious towards a guy who spent over two years running him into the ground.

Bush: Obama scoped daughters' bedrooms after visit

WASHINGTON – After a confab about the state of the world, President-elect Obama wanted to scope out his young daughters' future bedrooms in the White House, President Bush said Tuesday, recounting the tour he gave his successor this week.

"One of things President-elect Obama was interested in — after we had our policy discussions — was his little girls. How would they like the White House?" Bush told CNN about Obama's visit to the Executive Mansion on Monday. "It was interesting to watch him go upstairs, and he wanted to see where his little girls were going to sleep."

Bush also said that before he met with the president-elect, he called former President Clinton to recall a similar meeting the two had after Bush was elected.

"I said `Bill, I'm getting ready to meet with the new president and I remember how gracious you were to me,'" Bush said. "'I hope I can be as gracious to President-elect Obama as you were to me.'"

Obama's wife, Michelle, who went on a separate tour Monday with first lady Laura Bush, also wanted to check out the bedrooms that Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, likely will use during the Obama presidency.

"Clearly, this guy is going to bring a great sense of family to the White House," Bush said. "I hope Laura and I did the same thing, but I believe he will and I know his girls are on his mind and he wants to make sure that first and foremost he is a good dad. And I think that's going to be an important part of his presidency."

Bush said that when he leaves office, his daily pace will go from "100 mph to near zero overnight."

"I'm not sure what to expect," Bush said. "I know I'll miss certain things about the presidency. I also know I'm looking forward to getting home, so I've got mixed emotions."

I was fortunate enough to have met President Bush. It was when he ran for office the first time. He is very warm and genuine. I had my brother, who has Down Syndrome, with me. He spoke to us for several minutes....had his arm around my little brother. It was a special moment. He's a class act. I wish I could be as gracious as he.

Hey Loco!!!! Welcome back to the land of the posting!!!!

Doncha wish it could have kicked you back to November 3rd!!!

Whew, has it only been a week!??!?!!? And what a week it has been....

I went to bed with a sense of dread about our world. I woke up, heard something in the news, and thought 'hey, it's not our guy they're talking about!' It might be pretty nice to be on the outside looking in for a little while...a little little while, until we get the House back.

Loco - welcome back! You were sorely missed - thanks for your great attitude! You are always a shot in the arm...the good kind...

McCain on Leno Counters Claims That Palin Sunk GOP Ticket
The former Republican presidential nominee had only kind words for his running mate, though he didn't address anonymous accounts that she wasn't prepared

LOS ANGELES -- In his first interview since conceding the presidential election, John McCain said Tuesday that Sarah Palin did not damage his presidential bid and he dismissed anonymous criticism aimed at her following their crushing defeat.

"I'm so proud of her and I'm very grateful she agreed to run with me. She inspired people, she still does," McCain told Jay Leno during a "Tonight Show" interview taped for broadcast Tuesday night. "I couldn't be happier with Sarah Palin."

In an interview that mingled flashes of humor with political analysis, McCain did little to deflect responsibility from himself. He alluded to the difficult political environment for Republicans nationwide and conceded, "I could tell you a lot of things that we may have made mistakes on." He never listed them.

"So, that's the way it is," he added.

Asked by Leno to address griping about Palin from unidentified McCain operatives in the days following the election, the Arizona senator said, "These things happen in campaigns.

"I think I have at least a thousand, quote, top advisers," he scoffed. "A top adviser said? ... I've never even heard of ... a top adviser or a high-ranking Republican official."

However, McCain never directly addressed the embarrassing controversy over Palin's expensive campaign wardrobe purchased by the Republican National Committee, or statements by unidentified McCain aides who have reportedly said she was not prepared on foreign policy or other issues. The Alaska governor has said in interviews she did not ask for, or want, the $150,000-plus wardrobe for her and her family.

McCain also disputed that a different vice presidential pick would have changed the outcome against Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden. And when asked if Palin drifted off the campaign's message, he responded, "Did you expect mavericks to stay on message?"

At campaign rallies, "The people were very excited and inspired by her. That's what really mattered, I think," McCain said. "She's a great reformer."

McCain's appearance at Leno's Burbank studio was scheduled to coincide with Veterans Day. It was the former naval aviator's 14th appearance on "The Tonight Show" but his first TV interview as a vanquished presidential candidate.

While shielding Palin from blame, McCain also steered around a suggestion that skewed media coverage tilted the election toward Obama. "One thing I think Americans don't want is a sore loser," he said.

"I knew I had a headwind. I can read the polls," he said, in an obvious reference to a political climate soured by an economic crisis and unpopular Republican president and war.

What's this say about the GOP brand?

The "party has a lot of work to do. We just got back from the woodshed," he said.

On a day when McCain reflected on his loss, Palin talked about the future.

In a series of national TV interviews, Palin attributed the ticket's defeat to the troubled economy and Bush administration policies and indirectly put her name in play as a possible future presidential candidate.

What about another campaign for McCain, who will be 76 years old in 2012?

"I wouldn't think so," McCain told Leno, with a hint of resignation in his voice. "We are going to have another generation of leaders come along."

Tonight I went to my first Young Republicans meeting - it was cool...

Our speaker, former W TN prosecutor and campaign chairman for Bush 41 and 43, compared 2008 to 1992 - that, with a dem POTUS/Senate/House, they overreached and we were able to get control over the House/Senate in 1994. The Dems are thinking they won't make that mistake again but with Pelosi calling the shots, that won't be the case.

He also said that it is important to pay attention to governorships - right now the Repubs have 21 - in 2010, we should get about 4 to 9 more. Bill Frist is thinking of running in TN!

He mentioned a Chip something or other as chairman of the RNC and said he would be great - it's good to know of the many who are out there.

Lastly, he reminded us that GWB once had an approval rating of 90+% but look at what happened. H is at the top of his game now - where can he go from here except down?

I spoke to the head of the YR club - she talked about their various service projects in the community as a way of networking with organizations and letting everyone see that Repubs aren't the bad guys in all this. This is what happened in our city council race -- a Repub ran against a union Dem in the very liberal Memphis and WON!!!!! Due in part to the relationships made by the candidate...

Anyway, it was encouraging... we can do this!!!!
