OOC: Good, I kind of read a little bit, so I hope you don't mind me just reacting to something that already happened.

Sorry, this is a mouthful.

Max: As everyone else moved on with the conversations, Max kept thinking. Why were the others so concerned about the cliff diving? Alex had given them safety tips, tolds them how to do it properly. The cliffs weren't even that high, Max had jumped off things higher than that. Cliff diving shouldn't have been a big deal, but people had made a mountain out of a molehill. Just like, in Max's opinion, River had done when she'd learned Max's secret, and she didn't even learn everything, though Max was sure to make sure River thought she had. Always stay one step ahead. But that wasn't the point! The point was, everyone was too concerned about danger! The fact was though, they were always in danger. Apparently they could have died, but people die every day, and everyone dies at some point! It was times like these that Max salmost wished everyone had had her 'childhood', her past. Max had come to terms with her own death before her age was a double digit number. Masx was fearless, she feared nothing, risked everything, and did dangerous things without a care. She didn't see a reason why everyonre was so concerned about safety. If everyone was concerned about safety all the time, so many amazing things would not have happened. Before shre knew what she was doing, Max leaped to her feet.

"I need to say something," she said, glancing around at the others. "Look, I know we're all classmates now, and that's all fine and dandy. But you guys need to get a grip on yourselves. We're living at a school on an island. We live and go to school in a five story mansion, if you count the basement and Professor Collins' penthouse as floors. We have the best food, the best clothes, and freaking super powers! I mean, how cool is that? We can do whatever we want here. And you don't even appreciate it. Some of us come from nothing. And we're taking advantage of this place, because who knows how long we'll be here. We're experiencing things. And yes, that does include cliff diving. Why does that matter? Sure there was a little risk. But for some people, there's risks in their lives everyday, and as one of them, I have to say I wouldn't give it up for the universe or anything in it. Maybe it was a little reckless or dangerous. Dudes, there's danger in our lives everyday. We have freaking super powers! I mean, come on now! You're worried about little experiences like cliff diving? That was one of the most amazing things I've ever done! I can't imagine being worried about safety and saying no. When people worry over being safe, they let all these amzing experiences go by! And all because 'it might not be safe'! And here you are, sitting around, letting all these oppertunities go by. So don't attack us because we're not being 'safe'. Maybe we are taking risks. But we're being spectacular. That's all I'm going to say."

Max stared at the sand under her feet and sat down. She was seriously embarressed. It felt good to say what she thought, that's why Max always said what she thought rather than sugarcoating everything. And she meant everything she said. She came from graves and ashes, all of her possessions lived in her school trunks. She was experiencing what she could before she was forced to move on again. But, at the same time, Max wwas worried this would be like her talk with Toby, and everyone would hate her like Toby hated her. Which really shouldn't matter to Max. The fact that it mattered meant Max had broken a rule. But it did matter.

Ooc: It's fine, I'll just write my character's reactions to Max.

Jack: Jack had frozen in his spot as he listened to Max but didn't say anything, just listened. After she was finished he let out a breath before shaking his head. 'Lots of spirit for a kid,' He thought to himself before holding his hands up in mock surrender. Unlike usual where Jack would get angry for someone speaking like that he was actually just surprised at her. Without a word, so he didn't apologize or make her angry, Jack walked away towards the other group on the other shore.

Alex: Alex watched and listened to Max in astonishment not realizing someone could put all of that in words. When she spoke of taking advantage of the school Alex looked down slightly before peeking back through her eyelashes as she finished. When Max finished Alex smiled and chuckled almost proud of the girl for saying what she thought. "Nice job Max, I don't think I could ever be able to say all of that like you. That was something special," She said.

Margo: Margo listened to Max and took it all in. It got the wheels turning in her head, especially since she had also come from nothing. But then Margo felt herself getting madder and madder. Suddenly, very unlike Margo, words starting rolling out of her mouth. "You know what, if you want to risk your life doing something like cliff diving, go ahead. But not all of us have the freedom to take those risks. Some of us have people counting on us. Some of us aren't just living for ourselves. You wanna tell my little siblings that their big sister died? Huh? They would have no one! No one!" Suddenly Margo was sobbing. She once again felt guilty for leaving them behind. And she was still mad a Max. But was crying more at the thought of her siblings all alone. Max had just happened to set her off.

Alex: Alex frowned hearing Margo and felt bad, not just because of Margo having to leave her siblings but also because her friend was upset. Standing, Alex made her way to Margo and cautiously hugged her trying to comfort her. "Shhh, calm down Mar. Calm down," She said gently trying to help.

Toby: Toby smiled at Alex "you'll have to help me out" he said referring to finding him a fun job. When Max stood up and said what she said his eyes widened and he looked at Alex. He didn't want Max to think that he or anyone was taking this school for granted. Because he wasn't, he may have come from money, and the school may not have given him things he didn't have in the material sense. But he hadn't gotten other things. He felt like he fit in her, he made a best friend and found a sister in her. He learned to be himself, and finally felt me comfortable around people. This school had given him a life outside of his clothes and hair, it made him feel like a person. This school made his superpowers part of him, and something people liked, not something he felt like he always had to hide.

OOC: I forgot that River should have a reaction too.

River: River looked at Max with wide eyes, she didn't understand why the worry over cliff diving had upset her so much. She understood what it was like to have nothing and then come to this school and have everything. But for River it was that she had always taken care of herself, but her she was taken care of. She stood up and walked over toward Max cautiously not wanting to upset her more. She sat next to her but not too close to her, and said "are you alright?" trying to help, she knew she was the closest to Max here, and she wanted her to know that even though she may spend a lot of time with Daniel that she was still there for Max.

Ooc: It's fine, I'll just write my character's reactions to Max.

Max: "That's probably the most I've said all year," she muttered, not intending to be heard but was still heard. Max's eyes wandered everywhere but the people around her. She was beginning to think that they hadn't needed the lecture, especially from Max. Then she looked at River, and tried to brush off her discomfort. "River, I'm fine," Max insisted, stronger than she should have. She took a long breath and added, "Sorry."

Daniel: Daniel witnessed and listened to everything in shock. Who knew that a quiet girl like Max could have such fire in her? River was secretly spirited too, but apparently nowhere near Max, who would get up and say what she believed no matter what.

Professor Collins: Let's head back to the manor and grab some sandwiches and chips or someting for lunch.

Jack: Jack heard the announcement and made is way to the Professor ready for lunch.

Alex: Alex hugged Margo but shook her head at Max," It may but at least you said something you thought. That's something good." Hearing the announcement she sighed.

River: "okay" River said simply. "sorry" she felt she needed to add. She stood and waited for Max to go to lunch.

Toby: Toby stood from where he was sitting and walked over to Margo and Alex. He felt awkward not knowing how to comfort Margo.

Margo: Margo collased into Alex's hug, trying to calm herself. She was embarrassed for having exploded then broken down in front of everyone, and now wished she could just stop crying. She slowed down her breathing, still sniffling. Finally, she backed up, said "I'm alright, really." Then to Max, "I'm sorry."

Max: It was a moment like this that Max wanted to get out a razor, a kitchen knife or something, and cut herself right in the open, or lead them through a punishment, just to see the looks on their faces. But that was suicide. Instead, Max went through all of her temper tricks she'd gotten from the correctional facilities over the past two years.

Max practically breathed, her voice very unsteady, "I went too far didn't I? Oh, sorry, people who tend to not have anyone who gives a care whether they live or die tend to be a little cold." She said they, but clearly implicated herself. She got up and stormed off, muttering under her breath.

Alex: Alex moved next to Toby but looked at Margo with worry," Are you sure? Do you need to talk or anything? Because I'll help in anyway I can." She but her lip nervous for Margo, she hated when people cried especially if it were her roommate and friend.

Max: Max kept walking. She didn't care that Margo was sorry. There weren't many things that got to Max, but Margo had struck one of them, and Max was not going to let it go so easily. She was nothing if not stubborn.

OOC: Hmm.... maybe we should play truth or dare.........

gotta go, night!

Max: It was a moment like this that Max wanted to get out a razor, a kitchen knife or something, and cut herself right in the open, or lead them through a punishment, just to see the looks on their faces. Alex: Alex looked after Max and let out a breath. "Oh Max," She muttered sadly before looking at the others. "Should we go after her?"

Ooc: Night Wings!

Margo: Margo was terrified. Usually, she just smiled, and let anything anyone had to say just slide over. But here, the one time she had exploded, she seriously hurt someone. She couldn't believe it. She hated hurting others. She wanted to cry again, but held it in. Instead, she just looked at Alex and whispered, "What have I done?"

Nate: Nate was extremely uncomfortable by the whole situation, so quickly went to go good food.

River: River stood frozen where she had been when Max stormed off. She looked at Alex with a sad expression and shook her head 'no'. She knew that sometimes Max just needed her space. Chasing her would only upset her more.

Toby: Toby looked at Margo knowing she wasn't talking to him but responded. "it's okay Margo, it's fine. You needed to say what you said. Don't feel bad for saying what you felt" he said feeling like he was repeating himself and not sure what else to say.

Margo: Margo took another deep breath. Toby and Alex were helping her feel better, more that they were supporting her than what they were saying, because despite their words, she still had a sinking feeling in her gut of guilt. "Thanks, but I don't really want to talk about it now. Later, when I'm not so emotional, maybe. But now, like you said, lets eat and not think about it."

Toby: "good idea" Toby said standing and leading the way.
Margo: Margo followed Toby. She tried to not think about it, and smile, and enjoy the beach, but her thoughts kept going back to Max's last words. Margo hadn't realized Max really didn't have anyone. She thought Max was just taking risks, without the thought of the people who cared about her. If she knew what she knew know, that Max didn't think anyone cared about her, she would never of said it. But, Max was wrong. She does have people that care about her, people that would miss her if she was gone. She has Alex, and River, and Daniel, Professor Collins and all the people here. She thought about how sad it would be to have no one, and understood Max just a tiny bit better. So, seemingly out of the blue, Margo said, "Guys, we need to make sure Max knows we would miss her if she died in a freak cliff diving accident." Margo realized by saying this, she would probably make Max even madder than she already had, so she added, "But Max can't know we're trying."

OOC: night!

Amelia: Amelia watched as everything happened on the other side of the beach. She heard what the other students said and watched in astonishment. She couldn't believe everything that Max had said, and she thought the other students overreacted a little bit. She understood where Max was coming from. If Amelia died, it wouldn't make a difference in anybody's life. At least Max had a father, even if she didn't think he cared. If Amelia died, there wouldn't even be anyone to call.
Amelia sighed as she heard the announcement for lunch. She walked over to follow the other students. As she came to the group, she passed Max and without even thinking, whispered to Max, "I get it," and gave her a supportive nod. She then walked on ahead, not inviting a conversation, or even a response.

Daniel: Daniel looked around at everyone sympathetically, though a little confused, and wrapped an arm around River comfortingly. "Yes, let's go get lunch." He began to walk with them towards the house.

Max: Max walked ahead of everyone. It wasn't fair, it simply wasn't fair. She sighed, realizing acknowledging that the situation and her entire life wasn't fair was futile. Nothing was going to change because it 'wasn't fair'. In fact, Max was beginning to think that nothing would ever be fair. Oh well, what did it matter? Max knew there was an extremely high probability that she would die in her twenties, overseas in the wars like so many other young men and women who had signed up to defend their country and would defend it with their lives. Meanwhile, Max had her coping methods. She thought longingly of her sharp shell before entering the manor.
