Is this a change to paying dues with gift cards?

Hi @mgarbowski , I ended up using a new gift card to address the issue at that time because I had some time constraints in getting the gift card loaded for use. My guess was it was just a technical glitch that would resolve after a few days, though I was not able to test it....
Thx for the reply!

Wanted to resurrect this page..

How many people paid dues with multiple gift cards or multiple credit cards after the bill went out? (I think I saw one confirmation)

I prepaid last year and I hated the way they applied payments across contracts so I want to wait until the dues bill actually generates to pay. But I want to pay with multiple forms of payment. I have no desire to enroll in autopay.

I use multiple gift cards to pay my dues (same for my AP). I hoard GCs all year when I can get a good deal, combine them to the max permitted and then rattle off the numbers to Member Services when the statement comes out.

So you were able to pay in January 2025 with multiple cards? There was confusion after the new rule for 2025 came out requiring payment in full if they would allow split payments.

You can pay with multiple gift cards, but only if Auto Pay is turned off. And once Auto Pay is turned off you cannot turn it back on once the first payment has come due.

So effectively you can pay with multiple gift cards after the statement has come out but before the first payment is due/the auto pay setup deadline has passed. If you turn off Auto pay during the year you had best have enough to pay the entire remainder of the dues

I think the payment in full conversation was what would happen after Feb 15th and people turned off auto pay.

Prior to the date, you could make as many payments as needed using GC or CC until balanced is paid in full

So you cant pay a bunch of gift cards in january towards it and then turn on autopay for the rest? Or can you do autopay and then halfway thru the year pay the rest with gift cards?

You can pay as much as you want until when they consider you in default if they are not paid in full or have auto pay turned on which I believe @Sandisw is correct with a February 15 date.

According to the “new rules” you can turn off monthly auto pay but the balance becomes due at that point.

I don’t remember if people were able to call MA and pay with multiple gift cards or not as online you could only use one gift card (or so we were informed) which would mean your dues would have to be $1,000 or less at that point since the GC can only hold $1,000.

I paid with multiple GC in full in December as soon as the amounts were posted to our contracts. Technically they are due on 1/15 but allow a grace period until 2/15

You can pay with one gift card at a time, but you can pay with as many gift cards as you wish in total. You just have to make multiple discrete payments.

Last January, I paid with about 30 gift cards. I applied too much to one contract so called MS and they kindly reallocated to another contract. Then MS confirmed I was fully paid up on all contracts. Definitely time consuming but workable. I’ll do the same this year.
