OOC: Good, I kind of read a little bit, so I hope you don't mind me just reacting to something that already happened.
Sorry, this is a mouthful.
Max: As everyone else moved on with the conversations, Max kept thinking. Why were the others so concerned about the cliff diving? Alex had given them safety tips, tolds them how to do it properly. The cliffs weren't even that high, Max had jumped off things higher than that. Cliff diving shouldn't have been a big deal, but people had made a mountain out of a molehill. Just like, in Max's opinion, River had done when she'd learned Max's secret, and she didn't even learn everything, though Max was sure to make sure River thought she had. Always stay one step ahead. But that wasn't the point! The point was, everyone was too concerned about danger! The fact was though, they were always in danger. Apparently they could have died, but people die every day, and everyone dies at some point! It was times like these that Max salmost wished everyone had had her 'childhood', her past. Max had come to terms with her own death before her age was a double digit number. Masx was fearless, she feared nothing, risked everything, and did dangerous things without a care. She didn't see a reason why everyonre was so concerned about safety. If everyone was concerned about safety all the time, so many amazing things would not have happened. Before shre knew what she was doing, Max leaped to her feet.
"I need to say something," she said, glancing around at the others. "Look, I know we're all classmates now, and that's all fine and dandy. But you guys need to get a grip on yourselves. We're living at a school on an island. We live and go to school in a five story mansion, if you count the basement and Professor Collins' penthouse as floors. We have the best food, the best clothes, and freaking super powers! I mean, how cool is that? We can do whatever we want here. And you don't even appreciate it. Some of us come from nothing. And we're taking advantage of this place, because who knows how long we'll be here. We're experiencing things. And yes, that does include cliff diving. Why does that matter? Sure there was a little risk. But for some people, there's risks in their lives everyday, and as one of them, I have to say I wouldn't give it up for the universe or anything in it. Maybe it was a little reckless or dangerous. Dudes, there's danger in our lives everyday. We have freaking super powers! I mean, come on now! You're worried about little experiences like cliff diving? That was one of the most amazing things I've ever done! I can't imagine being worried about safety and saying no. When people worry over being safe, they let all these amzing experiences go by! And all because 'it might not be safe'! And here you are, sitting around, letting all these oppertunities go by. So don't attack us because we're not being 'safe'. Maybe we are taking risks. But we're being spectacular. That's all I'm going to say."
Max stared at the sand under her feet and sat down. She was seriously embarressed. It felt good to say what she thought, that's why Max always said what she thought rather than sugarcoating everything. And she meant everything she said. She came from graves and ashes, all of her possessions lived in her school trunks. She was experiencing what she could before she was forced to move on again. But, at the same time, Max wwas worried this would be like her talk with Toby, and everyone would hate her like Toby hated her. Which really shouldn't matter to Max. The fact that it mattered meant Max had broken a rule. But it did matter.
Ooc: It's fine, I'll just write my character's reactions to Max.
Jack: Jack had frozen in his spot as he listened to Max but didn't say anything, just listened. After she was finished he let out a breath before shaking his head. 'Lots of spirit for a kid,' He thought to himself before holding his hands up in mock surrender. Unlike usual where Jack would get angry for someone speaking like that he was actually just surprised at her. Without a word, so he didn't apologize or make her angry, Jack walked away towards the other group on the other shore.
Alex: Alex watched and listened to Max in astonishment not realizing someone could put all of that in words. When she spoke of taking advantage of the school Alex looked down slightly before peeking back through her eyelashes as she finished. When Max finished Alex smiled and chuckled almost proud of the girl for saying what she thought. "Nice job Max, I don't think I could ever be able to say all of that like you. That was something special," She said.
