~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Lou: I'm glad to hear Louie is feeling better. The stomach thing is really awful. Back on My Feet is a cool organization, sound like a worthy fund raising cause to me-- good luck.

Howard and Cam: Have fun with the Special Olympics, it sounds like a good time and for a really worthy cause. I'd like to volunteer for them too.

Dave: Your trip with your dad sounds really nice, I'm sure you will both enjoy it. I'm still jealous that you got to talk with Peter Mayhew

Things here are pretty much status quo. The storm this morning was really impressive-- pitch black and tons of thunder and lightening. I ran 6 today (indoors on the TM) and am eager to try a new pair of shoes I just got but didn't have time today, so we'll see how they work tomorrow. I had finally found shoes I liked then New Balance stopped making them :sad2:

Lou- The relay sounds like fun, and I really do want to do one with the Bots. That's the same weekend I'm taking my Dad to the Kennedy Space Center though. Hope everyone in your house is getting better.

Cam- Great to see you here. Stop by any time. Good luck with the Special Olympic stuff coming up. I really admire you guys for that.

Colleen- Good job on starting your NYC training. Are you coming up for Baltimore, or is NYC your trip north for the fall?

Hello Mike :wave2: Was thinking of Optimators in Germany today, and thought of you.

Howard- hope your foot is getting better. Congrats on signing up for the Philly Distance Run (even if Cam doesn't think it's a good idea).

Hi Debra- Don't be a stranger over here since you've signed up for Baltimore now. We know how to find you.

Hello to Jen, Jodi, Sara, Chester, Megan, Cindy, and Matt too. Hope I didn't forget anyone.

So I got a couple good runs in the past couple days. Yesterday I did 3 loops around my neighborhood for 3.75 miles. That's all I could manage before the rains came. It was raining my whole run, and I was trying to hold out for 4 loops (5 miles) but it was starting to come down. It was fun running in the rain though.

Today I did 5 miles in perfect weather. It felt great. I'll talk to you all later. See you over on Facebook! :thumbsup2

Cam - Miss you, too! Glad to read about Jenn saving some serious glute down in WDW! That's neat. I probably wouldn't be that generous with my services...come to think of it, I wasn't. Maybe that's why I left that whole paramedic thing behind. Anyway.....I hope to see you before January.

Rube - AKA first time NYCer! I can't wait 'til that weekend, congrats on the commencement of training! Looks like LOUoophole might have found a way to get in!! Not sure NYC can handle 3 BOTS all @ once.

Mike - RU running at all? What's up next for you? Shouldn't you & Kathy be leaving soon for your summer @ Disney?:rolleyes1

Chester - I sent Sparky the foster dog down to you & Tracy a few weeks ago...has he arrived yet?

Tiger - Glad to see you're having fun on the links! Smart dude, listening to your body & backing off some runs. Good luck training for the PDR, wish I could make it there.

Jen - Nice job on the 6 dredmills! But I'm confident you could have dodged that lightning. BLT, eh? That sounds great. We're currently booked @ OKW. Hoping to change that to BWV or BCV.

Lou - Definitely sign up with that charity, that'd be a blast. Um, I'm digging the notion of that Philly relay...can I wear my pajamas?? Who else is in?

Mindy - I saw that you (he) signed up for the Goofy. Did you (she)? Did you run that lawyer race yet?popcorn:: I'm not gonna say anymore.

Dave - That just sounds like a great trip with your dad, you're a very thoughtful son. My mom would be lucky if I took her to the grocery store . Maybe you could suggest an astronaut-based run while you're down there?:rolleyes1:laughing: I mean, since you're on a roll with all that kind of stuff.

Sara - ?What up, wench?

Running some. Still having issues with my feet/ankles/arch. I dunno, just being mindful of them. Howard, what did the beginning of your PF feel like?
Spencer's "graduating" from 8th grade tomorrow. He has to make a speech, etc. teehee. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Mike - RU running at all? What's up next for you?
Yep - Steady diet of 6 and 8 milers. 25-35 miles a week. I haven't done a LR for a while though. Nothing up for a few months.

Take it easy on the tootsie. Rest and ice and accupuncture if appropriate.

No heckling Spencer during his speech!

Lou - Was that organization profiled in Runner's World a few months ago?

I'm sick...man, this sucks! Hit me about an hour ago. I'll be suffering for the next 12 hours.

By the way, I booked NYC through that charity. I'm all in for $3000!

Lou

:wave2:

I haven't been on here much lately. I'm actually busy again at work, which I am very thankful for, and using my free time to research our trip to Japan - I'm getting very excited.

Lou - I'm sorry that you are sick. I hope it gets out of your system quickly. Congrats on NYC!

Jodi - She has not signed up but will. He and She are running lawyer race on Saturday - you don't need to be a lawyer to run it. It's actually the D.C. area's largest 10K! (and raises money for the American Heart Assoc.)

Mike and Colleen (or is it just Jeff?) - still doing Richmond? I think that will be my fall marathon now that I feel like I have to run one.

I'm even all registered and everything.

Japan? When are you going to Japan.

Lou - Feel better soon, buddy.

I got 10 miles in this morning. The first 2 miles I was thinking "Man, I need a Jodi-stop." That taken care of, the last 8 I was thinking "Man, It's hot!"

Tiger - Glad to see you're having fun on the links! Smart dude, listening to your body & backing off some runs. Good luck training for the PDR, wish I could make it there.

Jodi~ Tiger I am not, but the guys I work with are making me feel like it. They are disassociating themselves with me because I scorded so much better than them. It's pretty funny actually. I made an apointment next week to get fitted for new irons. Cam "gave" them to me as a graduation present last May (May '08) and I haven't done anything to purchase them. I want to be properly fitted and then shop around a bit, they could be a high ticket item unfortunately. I will get my current set re-gripped and pass them on to Andrew. His starter set is WAY too small for him now. Once this is all done, I'll take him out for a few rounds this summer and to the driving range. It is a long overdue promise there I hope to make good on.

As far as the Plantar Faciitus, it felt like a tingling sensation followed by severe pain when it first came on. It got worse the more I ran on it/walked on it. It is still twinging now most likely aggrivated by the aircast. I am running on it and it seems to be holding up so far. I have the ice and stretching routine ready if it comes back full on.

Lou~ I hope you are feeling better.

Mike~
Nice run my man.... 10 is a good thing.

Hi to Sara, Colleen (Mrs. NYC!), Jen, Debra, Cindy, Matt, Chester, Megan, etc.

:grouphug:

Howard

Good Morning Bots.

Mike: I saw in RW this month that Richmond is their choice for a Marathon Challenge. Have you run there before? It’s on my list, but probably not for this year. Good job on the 10 miles in the heat.

Cindy: A trip to Japan sounds great. Is it just for vacation? Or do you have to work while you are there? Good luck in your race this weekend.

Lou: Sorry to hear you’ve caught the plague. Hopefully it will pass quickly. I always view it as an opportunity to drop a few pounds. Good luck raising money for your charity. I also saw it in RW a few months back.

Jodi: Sorry to hear about your arch/ankle/foot pain. Hopefully it’s resolved quickly.

Dave: Glad you’ve had some good runs lately. Your trip with your Dad sounds terrific.

Jen: I hope the new shoes work out. I hate when they discontinue the shoes I like. The new resort at WDW sounds great. I hope you like it. I still need to book something for January. Just trying to figure out which price point I’ll be able to afford by then.

Cam: Hello. Have fun at the Special Olympics.

Colleen: Congrats on getting in to NYC. Good luck with your training.

Howard: Glad you enjoyed playing golf. Too bad your co-workers are so jealous of your abilities. A nice new set of clubs sounds great. Can you believe it’s been an entire year since you graduated? Hope your foot continues to improve.

Matt: It seems like your training is going well for Baltimore. It makes me feel like I’m way behind for my fall marathon. Good luck in your race this weekend.

Sara: Congratulation on your race. I’m glad you enjoyed it so much.

I continue to train for the Tri I am doing in July. I feel like it’s really cutting in to my run training since I only have so much workout time in a week. My LR is only up to 7 miles at this point, but I still have time to build up. I only have 2 5K races scheduled in June so I’m not too concerned about the lack of distance, but I think I’ve lost a bit of speed. It’s probably because my legs are always so tired from the biking and swimming.

Have a great day everyone.
Cindy

Wow, the crickets in here are deafening. Where is everyone? :confused3

CindyLou- Great to see you posting here. Good luck on your Tri in July. I keep hearing about people doing Tris. I might need to try it sometime.

Howard- I hope your foot continues to improve.

Mike- 10 miles on a weekday. I'm so impressed.

Cindy- Feel free to post any ideas or plans you and Matt have for Japan. I'm very curious to hear everything about your trip.

Lou- How are you feeling? Are you over your bug?

Jodi- How did Spencer's speech go?

Let's see, for me I did 3 miles of "pseudospeed-work" on Wednesday - I alternated fast and recovery laps on the track. I did some biking yesterday for cross-training. Not much else going on besides running the kids around to their activities.

If anyone wants to procrastinate on a Friday, I put a new blog up profiling one of the killer whale trainers at SeaWorld San Diego.

To all the Bots:

Just passing through. I have to go let Sparky out for a walk.:moped:

Hope all is well,

Chester

I have to go let Sparky out for a walk.:moped:

He is quite demanding, isn't he?

Sorry I haven't been around either, BOTS. No reason. I keep lurking here wondering why nobody is posting :rotfl:.

The Chiropractor cracked my feet apart & stuff so that seems to help...the ankles are a lot looser, therefore my chi is beginning to flow again :hippie:.

5 miles is a LR for me nowdays. Did 4 today in the nasty, soupy, humidity.

I wanna try a tri, too!:yay:

Hmmm, what else?....nope, that's about it.

Good Morning Everyone: I'm waking up and fueling up for my LR today. I have 9 on tap as I'm still trying to build up after the cruise. After my run, we're heading up to Toronto for a family overnighter. This is my Father's Day present, and I'm really excited. We've never been to Toronto. It's only 3 hours from us, but we've just never made it. So this should be fun. We're going up for an arts festival on the waterfront called Luminato. Cirque du Soleil is having free performances for the weekend, so that should be interesting.

Jodi- Good to hear from you. Thanks for checking in. Thanks for the comment on the blog. :thumbsup2 I knew I could count on you to stick up for me.

Chester- Thanks for checking in too. Always good to hear from you. Take care.

Let's see, who else has posted??? Oh, nobody, so I guess I didn't miss anyone... ;)

All my best everyone...

ETA: 9 miles in the books in 1:27 for a 9:40 mpm pace. I thought I was going faster than that. Oh well, no matter it's done, and I felt great. No walk breaks and very relaxed run (albeit slow). Now we're off for Toronto. Yippeeee!

CindyLou - Wow, training for a Tri...nice! I think the swimming would do me in.

Howard & Dave - Congrats to your Pens...(it was painful to watch Sid the Kid hoist the Cup). Great come from behind series win.

Dave - Toronto sounds nice. Probably a great time of year to go too.

Jodi - Cracked your feet? That sounds enjoyable.

Hey Bots - Let me know if any of you guys are in for this 20in24 relay http://www.20in24.com. It sounds pretty fun.

I'm recovered from a nasty stomach flu. The stomach part hit me hard for 12 hours. Then I just felt feverish for another 24 hours. Yesterday I felt better and decided to run 8 miles in Philly along the river (same loop as the race above). Hit 8.00 miles at the top step of the Art Museum and called it a day.

I'm psyched about NYC. Haven't had a chance to digest it yet but will start looking over the charity thing and planning for that weekend tomorrow. I'm hoping I can book a room at the same hotel as Jodi and Colleen. I figure the three of us can try to figure out how to get around together that weekend.

Have a nice weekend!

Lou

Hey All,

Lou - Glad you're feeling better. Nice job on the 8.

Jodi - I'm happy to hear your chiropacticated feet feel looser. Nothing like a woman with loose feet. Wait, I think that's supposed to be a loose woman with feet. Well, whatever. Let the Chi flow!

CindyLou - Be sure to let us know how your Tri goes.

Dave - Have fun/I hope you had fun in Toronto.

Chester - For a minute I thought "I have to go let Sparky out for a walk" was a Disboard approved code for something much more interesting.

Howdy to everyone else!

As for me; I ran. It's hot.

Mike - I ran, too, and yes, it is HOT!, ugh.

Lou - Nice job on 8, post-vomitus.

Dave - Have fun in Toronto.

Yes, running, 6 miles, hot.

Hey to all you other non-posting-lazy-BOTS.

Dads like them too. I ate 9 of those silly things Friday night before bed!

I agree. I love ICEEs but I am starting to become a water ice junkie. I find that Philadelphia water ice tastes better then Jersey water ice....although Jersey shore water ice is not bad. I ate one before my 8-mile run on Friday and one after the run.

Suffered through 12 miles today. It was miserably warm and humid this morning. Anybody else get out there today?

Lou
