Just had to stop in and say welcome, welcome, :welcome: ! To my Rc'er friend Pas :goodvibes I hope you love BWI and I will be looking forward to your thoughts when you get back....hope there's no more changes in the works, but with you, I am sure we never truly know until you are HOME, :rotfl: looks like the BWI is getting a lot of love from our peeps right now :)

CRF4L, I've been thinking of you! :goodvibes hope your travels are safe and you have another amazing time at the BWI. :)

As for views..... I booked the deluxe room, not only for extra space, but because at the boardwalk, the atmosphere looks so lovely that I would want a boardwalk view to keep in the middle of it all! If you want something more peaceful, those courtyard views look lovely :goodvibes

Hello pas130, and welcome! You switched! :) We love BWI CL! And I have to say that our view from our BWI room in August was my favorite view of any Disney resort so far! We requested a Boardwalk view, and it was wonderful. Not too loud, peaceful in the morning, and so close to the water. Here are a few photos:
Thank you so much!!! I am showing my DD the pics (she is home sick) She LOVES the decor. I heard back from IPO and he said the same thing about the rooms & views. That they will be fine...and he put in for us to be close to CL lounge as a request (he suggested it would be easier with the little ones) Now I just have to go 133 days without changing...that would be a record :lmao:
Well I can't believe that tomorrow at this time I will be back at the Boardwalk Inn.
Safe travels!!! I know you will have a FANTABULOUS trip :goodvibes

HRH thinks all the views are lovely :dance3:

Hi BWIers!

I am booked for a special girls/sister's only trip in Feb, actually at the poly but I'm considering switching over to BWI, for price difference, epcot location, and the all important balcony issue.
Balcony is pretty important to us mamas-its the only place we can get some quiet me time before kids wake up and after they go to bed! :goodvibes
A CM I booked with said getting a balcony at the poly shouldn't be a problem, but after reading some reviews here, it seems like it might be a problem.
A few people mentioned that at BWI my chances of getting one will be higher.
Thoughts?

I don't know how many rooms do not have a balcony at BWI. But I would imagine you would have a better chance at BWI than Poly. Poly has balconies on the 3rd floor, and the 1st floor has patios (not-enclosed, which is less than ideal with little ones IMO)

I believe there is either one or two rooms at the whole BWI that do not have a balcony. And obviously if you got one of those, you could ask to move!!

I am getting so excited for my trip! I know the next 54 days will go fast because of the holidays. Thank goodness I have all of you here to help me through it, too.

So my mom and I are going to BWI next month and now she is starting to question some of our reservations. We both love Greek food and are adventurous eaters--is Kouzzina good? I have heard mixed reviews, but am considering changing our res from Les Chefs de France. What do you think?

Also, right now we have a standard view-club level. I am considering upgrading to a Boardwalk view, but my mom really wants to see the fireworks from our own balcony. I told her we can watch from the Innkeeper's balcony. Again, any opinion on this???

Thanks!!!

I can't answer the Kouzzina question as I haven't eaten there, but regarding the view, it's my understanding that you cannot book a Boardwalk view CL. CL rooms are all "standard view," which includes views of the boardwalk and courtyard views. All you can do is put in a request to IPO for a boardwalk view and hope for the best. :thumbsup2

A DIS friend of mine stayed at BWI in 2010 and was given a room without a balcony but they did move her the next day after she spoke to BWI management. As near as she could figure there are 3 rooms without balconies so your changes of getting a balacony are probably much better at BWI. I did put down a request for a "full balcony" on my reservation, I hope they honor it

Does anyone have pictures of the BWV views of a preferred/garden view???I was unable to get a Boardwalk view and am wondering what the preferred views are? Are those rooms closer to the lobby???why are they preferred??:confused3

Thanks
Tracy

bowbat is right, a CL Boardwalk view can only be requested, unless you book a Deluxe Room, then you will have a guaranteed Boardwalk view, but you will not be on the CL floor. We actually prefer the Epcot (Courtyard) View and being on the CL floor, so that's why we didn't book a Deluxe Room.

I hope you have a great vacation, erinscreen.

ooh thanks. I can't decide! Probably will just stick with what we have and I will know for next time!

I always stay in a standard club level room as it's just me :) I've had garden views and also boardwalk views, this year I had the same room with a boardwalk view as last year lol

Both are great views in their own way, I love the Boardwalk view first thing in the morning and during the day but, and I know some people might say it's no big deal, there is sometimes noise. I'm a light sleeper and the sound of the joggers early in the morning always wakes me up, not to mention the sound of laughing and people having fun in the evening. That aside the view is amazing.

On the other hand the garden views are so peaceful and there's something about watching the fireworks from your own room/balcony that is magical.

The view from the Innkeeper's club balcony is great if you haven't got your own 'personal' fireworks view.

I've only eaten breakfast at Kouzzina but that was very very good, so if the evening meals are as good you can't go wrong.

Ok, so we check in at BWI on Jan 7, where do we go to get our refillable mugs and get a quick bite of breakfast before heading to the MK?

We have eaten dinner at Kouzzina and thought it was very good. I had the spreads for an appetizer, which were delicious. For an entree I had the trio (lamb burger, cinnamon stewed chicken and greek lasanga), all three were very very good

From the AllEars Newsletter:

Kouzzina at Disney's BoardWalk has new breakfast items. The French Toast Baklava is super-sweet and includes Grilled Fig and Anise country bread with honey, walnuts, and cinnamon along with bacon or chicken sausage for $11.99. For a hearty choice, try the Breakfast Skillet with eggs, Pequillo peppers, Nueske's bacon, onions, Greek cheese, and sweet potato hash topped with arugula for $13.99. In addition, the breakfast potatoes are now a potato hash.

YUM! Someone needs to try this and report back to us:thumbsup2

Hello! Well, I can't believe I'm on the BWI thread. Yes, I'm one of those EX- I'll-never-stay-at-the-clown-pool-place. But after seeing how COOL the slide is, I think I can avoid looking at the clown :thumbsup2

Anyway, I am planning a WDW trip for next summer. I am tentatively looking at 6 nights at a moderate and 3 nights at a 1 bdr villa. We've stayed at VWL and LOVED the room (WL was just ok though) and we'd like to try a resort we have never stayed at. BWI fits the bill with access to Epcot to boot!

I know this is the BWI thread but there doesn't seem to be a villas at BWI thread but I'm sure you can answer all my questions about location and food and such!

Just wanted to say Hi for now and will follow along. I'm sure I'll be asking you guys questions soon :)

That was me! I'm not a huge fan of waterslides - they are generally just OK. But the BWI slide is great fun and I really loved it. Our boys still prefer the slide and pool at BC. On the pool issue, I agree. On the slide issue, I disagree - BWI's slide is my favorite slide anywhere ever.

As for the clown, didn't even pay attention to him. We were having too much fun and most of the time at BWI, I was enjoying the beautiful view of Crescent Lake.

Hi to my fellow BWI fans!
I will be staying at the BWI, for the 3rd time, over Christmas. Since I usually go to Disney in the summertime, I don't know what to expect at this time of the year. Anything you can tell me would be appreciated.
