Currently booked in a standard @ BWI this fall for about a week long vacation with the DW. Thinking about upgrading to a Garden Suite but can't decide. Thoughts? How are the views / placement of the Suites?

We actually won't spend a ton of time at the resort to be honest as we tend to be out and about a fair bit.

Also, I'm a pretty detailed planner so generally don't need help navigating reservations, etc. Fairly familiar with the WDW landscape. Is there a priority perk for staying in CL when it comes to getting dining seats?

The CL breakfast option seems good & convenient but not certain it is worth it. Not too concerned about the cost at this point but we're also pretty Scroogey (sp?).

The rooms do look pretty cool but not sure if it will matter that much.

Torn.:confused3

Personally I am a supporter of staying Club Level because I think it's worth it and etc. However one thing we do is make it back for the food offerings, so if you don't plan to spend a lot of time at the resort maybe it's worth it for you and the fact you also like planning your own ADR's. As for the Club Level Cast Members getting you ADR's in my experience if a restaurant is not available it won't matter because they use the same system for ADR's, however I heard they might have a better chance of getting ADR's for restaurants located at their resort.

I just booked BWI Deluxe CL for March 2011!!! I'm so excited! We haven't stayed at BWI since 1997!!!

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread, it's wonderful information!

After reading through this thread I'm trying to figure out what would be a good request. It seems like we would like the bigger balcony so the 3rd floor may be best, but will we lose some of the CL feeling by being down there? Also, are the rooms over Seashore Sweets deluxe? How far are they from the lounge?

Thanks!

I sent my first email to the boardwalk IPO today and Patty emailed me back within an hour. I thought that was great and so fast! So far so good!

Thanks for the feedback. We'll probably stick with the standard room for now and put the $ into the piggy bank.

Returned recently from the BWI. Had a really nice stay in connecting standard view rooms (then moved over to a 2BR at the BWV). I liked the newly renovated rooms, they are very comfortable. Rooms were near the elevator with a view mostly of a tree, but looking down could see some of the courtyard/garden suites area.

My DD asked me to switch from AKL to the BWI for our Christmas trip, so we're staying here for the first time! We'll be checking in Dec. 4th :goodvibes
DD said she doesn't think the clown slide looks creepy! LOL:rotfl:

I am receiving conflicting information (and couldn't find my question in the thread).

Can I request a microwave for my room if I am staying club level at BWI (not villas)? The CM on the phone said I could add the request to my online booking, but I only saw request for a pack-and-play and fridge (which is weird, since the room already has one). It would just be nice to have one to make my oatmeal the morning of the marathon - I'll use the old coffee maker trick if I have to.

I thought CL served oatmeal in the AM now? Perhaps you won't have to make it at all.

I suspect that they don't serve it at 2:30am! The buses for the marathon start at 3am and stop at 4am. It is possible that they open up the CL for the half-marathon and marathon mornings.

Good point! :lmao:

I would email IPO and ask them direct about the microwave and the possibility of the lounge opening early (or at least being unlocked).

Ok we just switched to standard view club level at BWI from BC CL standard due to 40%! It looks like we will be happy with the decision from reading this thread! (of course, I looked before we switched) Thanks for all the info!

I'll be shocked if you aren't happy with BWI!!!

We just returned from a stay at BWI Deluxe Club Level. It was the best club level I have had on property. Everyone is so nice. You will definately enjoy it.

Don't you just love the deluxe club rooms? All the space is wonderful. What did you think about the food offerings in the lounge?

Oh I am not worried about our decision. Just wanted to thank people for all the info on this thread. I am sure we will like it (maybe even love it - like we did bc last year). The concierge service gets great reviews.

Does anyone have a rough idea of the percentage of standard club level rooms that have water views? Just trying to decide if it worth upgrading to Deluxe to guarantee a water view, versus just requesting a water view for a standard club room.

If only a very small percentage of standard rooms have water views, I'd upgrade. If a fair proportion of them do, I won't. I don't really need the extra space of the Deluxe - it is just about the view.

Thanks.
