And I think they have incorrect information on the website too - the description says the same thing that CRO said (they are probably reading the same info from the website).

Yup, the deluxe concierge are all boardwalk views, though some are on the 3rd floor and some on the 4th

We're considering a stay here with an AP discount. If you book a standard view studio, what are the chances you'll get anything better? No other views are offered. Thanks!

Does that mean you can see some of Illuminations from your deluxe concierge room? are you high up enough to see?

Also do these rooms all have full balconies?

Thanks

You can't see Illuminations from a boardwalk view room - it's actually behind you. You can see the fireworks from the balcony of the concierge lounge, though. If you look into the distance from your room, you are able to see Wishes though.....

But would the lounge be open that late on New years eve?

So no rooms at there face Illuminations? What about garden view?

The lounge closes at 10pm. Cast members who work the evening shift are done at 10:30. This gives them time to clean and set up for the morning. You will be able to see the high fireworks from a garden view room.

We had a Garden Suite room with a large balcony. Our room was right under the concierge lounge so we were able to see Illuminations with the same view as the people on the lounge balcony above. It was awesome!

This is the view from our room. Illuminations was in that direction.

We'll be at BWI for the first time in late August, and we're wondering what standard room would be best to request. Anything without a view of the parking lot that is close to the main lobby is much preferred.

Does anyone know if any of the regular guest rooms will be renovated by this point? We're hoping the renovation is not bothersome during our stay, as this is our first time ever at BWI.

Congrats to those getting ready to stay soon! I am sure you will all enjoy the stay. The Boardwalk is great!!:thumbsup2 Can't wait until next July! We did get a quick tour of a model of what the refurbished rooms are going to look like when we were down in May and they are going to be great when they are done! Like I said, I can't wait for our next trip!:cloud9:

We are heading to the World this coming Tuesday night.:cool1: The beginning of our trip we are staying off site as we are going with a tour group for the Nascar race in Daytona Beach. We are planning on visiting our castmember friends up in the Lounge before it closes for 3 weeks. Then on Sunday 7/6 we will be arriving at the Boardwalk for a few nights.:thumbsup2 We are looking forward to the renovations as they are indeed long overdue. We will have something to look forward to when we come back in Jan 09.

I might have missed it, but, I have seen pics from some BW rooms looking at illuminations. What rooms face Epcot?

You could request a courtyard view, close to the lobby. Some of the courtyard views are closer than others.

I'm not sure about the renovations.

Have a wonderful stay! :)

The renovations are going quickly and not very disturbing at all! The concierge is going down for the next few weeks which many are upset about (guests and CMs alike) but they'll be up and better than ever! If you're in the area.. rooms 3215-3218 I *THINK* are the model rooms.. you can walk by and how the paint and carpet outsite the rooms are different than all the rest. Our master keys don't even work for them so no one can see the inside but the outside is how the rest of the resort will be done as well. Again, I'm not 100% sure because I haven't gone by them for about a week but you'll know when you pass them. The villas will be going through an intense refurb next year.. they're gonna look great. Let me know if you have any BW questions!

We arrive July 31st. Thinking about changing from a 1 Bdrm villa to deluxe concierge. Will the Inn Keepers Club be done by then? Are they still operating concierge level during rehab? TIA:)

What are they doing with the guest who've already booked CL during this time?

The renovations explain why there was little availability for the first week of November 2008 back at the first of the year when we booked. Does anyone know how "under construction" the resort will be in early November? I'm not really upset, but it would have been nice to have known about the renovations when we booked our package. I had a hard time talking my husband into this (and into staying at the Boardwalk), and now I'm a little concerned that our stay will be challenging due to construction. Should I be worried? It's too late to change, but I can prepare myself (and him) if it's going to be bad. I really appreciate any advice any one can give.

Does anyone know if the Innkeepers Club will be closed on the weekend of the 8th of August or will it be closing after this? I had heard it wasn't going to be until Sep. that this happens. Someone has to know the answer to this. Any help appreciated.

So happy to hear that BWI is being refurbished! It is our second favorite (second only to the GF) We stayed in the Inkeeper's Club last January and we loved it, but the rooms were looking a bit Shabby! We will be back January 20-22 2009 for our January 22 wedding at SBP!

Does anyone know if the refurb will be done by then?
