Hey guys!
I work at the Boardwalk and the new rooms look awesome! One of them has been completely renovated and the CMs got a sneak peak. Much more neutral- yellows and white. Super comfy looking. Looks polished but I think with all the white that dirt and stains would show easily. The TVs were cool too. I think you'll find it a pleasant change. They're taking out the carpet and wallpaper and curtains. Woohoo!
Let me know if you have any questions about the boardwalk in general:) I know nothing about halloween as I haven't been here in Oct yet- sorry.

Thanks for your reply nascargirl! One mor question, once you get to Epcot via international gateway how long does it take to get to Future World through World Showcase if you walk normally? Trying to figure out which would be easiest on the boyfriend as he melts in hot weather. I love love love the BWI theming but the convience of a monorail resort to both MK & Epcot can't be beat.

Thanks :)

It's about a ten minute or less walk:thumbsup2

Any idea when they will be finished? What area did you get the 'sneak peak.'

They are sprucing up the Innkeepers Lounge with new paint. Also the goal is to make the kitchen bigger and up to date. The CM thought possibly new carpet and hopefully new furniture. The rooms are getting flat screen Plasma TV with new cabinets, new bedding. We are heading down in about 3 weeks and will post something when we come back:thumbsup2

We will be there in 3 weeks too! We check in on July 3rd after a week at Pop. I have been a little nervous about the renovations. This is our first stay at the BWI - we booked a standard. We have been wondering if we should switch resorts but at this point we are going to wait and see what happens. We really have been looking forward to staying there.

Do you know if they are renovating the Garden Suites also? If so, will they be renovated by Oct '08, that's when we will be staying there :) ... thanx

Is this just for the Villas? We stayed there in December and while I enjoyed it thoroughly, because we were right above the Boardwalk Bakery, facing the BW itself, those rooms did need some updating, IMO. So are those the rooms being updated? If not, will they be? Thanks. Can't wait to stay there again. popcorn::

If your allowed, I would love to see a picture. TIA

Hi, i noticed from your post that your location in the boardwalk inn will be similar to ours during a future stay. did you hear any noise at night when trying to sleep, and is a nap possible during the day? thanks

Hello, we will be staying at the boardwalk starting on 6/26 for seven nights.

I have looked over this thread but could not find an answer, so hopefully somebody will be able to help. I understand you will be able to see the fireworks from the boardwalk itself, is there a specific spot on the boardwalk we should watch them from? We have an Illuminations cruise booked the night we arrive, but it would be great to be able to hang on the boardwalk one night and be able to watch the fireworks.

Also, one other question unrelated to the boardwalk fireworks. What would be my best option for getting from the Poly to the Boardwalk after Wishes. We are planning on watching wishes one night from the Poly, but the thought of going back to the MK to get a bus and fighting the crowd has me second guessing that idea. There will be five of us, so a cab is probably not an option.

Sorry for all the questions in one post, we are leaving soon on our first trip and I am suddenly starting to think of everything I had planned on asking the last three months! :)

Thanks

Why would 5 of you preclude a cab? There are plenty of cabs that have minivans as the mode of transport. Just request one of those.

That is the only way I would get from Poly to BW after Wishes. I can't imagine another way that would be better. MAYBE if it is an EMH night at DHS, you could grab the Poly bus from there to DHS and then take the boat back to BW. But that's only if you plan to go on the DHS EMH night.

I will be staying at the Boardwalk for my first visit this December. I will have a boardwalk view. When is the construction expected to end?

At the front desk we have no idea how long it will take. People are speculating a year but we haven't heard too much about it. I saw the room about 3 weeks ago during my first week of training so I don't remember where it was. I'm pretty sure it was in the Inn on either the first or second floor. The outside paint was a pinky/salmon color in the hallway and different than the rest of the resort. Maybe when I do a runner shift in the next few weeks I'll pass by it again and remember, but it's a huge resort to just walk around to look for a room- and I can't do that in costume. I can't take a picture unfortunately because they are not officially finished. They do it in phases- they'll change the carpet and then need approval, than change the bedding and need approval, so it's taking awhile to get the model room ready, but I believe it's close to done. I don't have access to the room and when I did see it, it was for educational purposes only and had to be escorted by a manager. I wouldn't want to try going by myself in case there were workers in there or the manager was showing someone else- don't want to put my job in jeopardy. I know concierge level is getting work done in a few weeks as the cast members there are moving down to front desk and many of us will be deployed to other resorts.
If I hear anything, I'll let you know. We just haven't really been updated about this. No one has even asked about it at the front desk despite the work crews constantly going in and out.

You can see some of the high fireworks if you walk over towards the beach club, but nowhere near the amount that you'd see in Epcot. You can't hear the music though, unfortunately. I heard you can see some of the MK fireworks as well in the distance but I haven't seen them myself.

Trying my best to remember, but I know once we closed the balcony doors you could not hear much if nothing at all. As far as the fireworks, yes you would hear them but that was temporary of course. And I believe a nap is possible durring the day especially with the doors closed. Hope this helps. I can't wait to stay there again. popcorn::

Hi, would you know if all the deluxe consierge/club level rooms only have views of the boardwalk. i know the standard consierge/club level rooms have both, but the initial info i received was that the deluxes only had boardwalk views, no garden views. today, someone from cro told me they had a choice of boardwalk, garden or pool. can you (or anyone in the know!) help with the correct answer? thanks in advance

thanks for your reply, paladin. i can't believe i talked to 2 cro members just this am and both said if i reserved a deluxe consierge room i would have a choice of boardwalk, pool or garden view. they are still notorious for giving out wrong info. thanks for verifying this info for me!
