The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

I tried to look through the thread for an answer to my question, but I got a little cross-eyed around page 30.

I am meeting some friends at the BelleVue Lounge next week. I am a smoker. I was there a few years ago back when there were no DSA, and I would go out onto the big balcony area outside the lounge for my smoke. Does anyone know if that happens to be a DSA now? And if not, do you know where the closest one is? TIA!

If you go down the stairs next to the lounge, out the door and a bit to the left, there is a covered DSA with benches.

All club level rooms have balconies. There really isn't a bad location, IMO. You may want a room near the lounge. The rooms have a view of the garden courtyard and quiet pool.

You are so right! I wish our budget would allow a third stay there, unfortunately not. We're excited to be trying POFQ for the first time.

I thought that I read somewhere that BWI would be undergoing renovation this fall. It could just be a crazy rumor - does anyone know if that's true and if so do you know when and what Disney plans to do? We are thinking of staying at the BWI in Jan 2009 and just wanted to be aware of any possible construction during our stay. Thanks!

When we were @ teh BWI this past January, the CL CM's stated inside renovations would takae place around 7/8. They were to start with the Concierge florr first. Of course, this could have changed since then. We are heading down to the BWI CL tomorrow, so I will get the scoop and report back after 5/25

Thanks for getting the scoop for us! We'll be checking into the BWI on 10/25 and I'd love to know if renovations will be taking place.

Are there any standard club level rooms with a Boardwalk view and a daybed? I am trying to decide what to request. I know it is not guaranteed, but I want to request somthing.
We really would like a daybed, but I am not sure if the standard club level even offer it. Also, if there are a few with a Boardwalk view, is it very many?

The standard view rooms have a garden view. You would need to book a water view room to get a BW view. The other category, deluxe, all have a BW view. So to put it another way, you have standard view, water view and deluxe!

Thanks. I don't see a water view option, only standard club or deluxe club.

Also, what about daybeds in standard club?

I have had a daybed in a standard club room. If they are only giving you 2 options and you want a BW view make sure you request it. There are quite a few BW view rooms that are standard rooms. You can't go wrong with either view, though I do love looking at the action from the BW view rooms.

Broke out in hives and a rash and threw up everywhere

We are heading to BWI, for the 1st time in October.

We are staying in a standard view room and I requested "near the quiet pool, rose garden courtyard". I just picked this information up from reading some threads, so I don't know if this was a good request or not.

Can anyone tell me if they had a standard view room that they really liked?

We have a couple of lovely view just by requesting garden view Last July we were in room 5306 and had this view:

We were very near the elevator and it was just a short walk to the quiet pool. Actually the fifth floor is so small that no room is far from the elevator On other floors, it can be quite a hike.
