Sick as a dog… Scoop still did his talk today because he knew how many out of town friends were going to attend, I mean the man could barely talk, but did it anyway.

Today was special. He had everybody, and I mean everybody fill out a name tag, and put down the names of two pins that they have been looking for whether they be holy grails or not on the name tag.

Then he asked everybody to walk around, and see if they could find anybody else that had a pin they needed to see if trades could be made on the spot, and in fact a few trades were made.

Then I was asked to put on the vest o-pins that I found out weighs like 90 pounds and stand in the corner, the lucky folks that did in fact make trades then got to pick a pin off the vest. Now some had Wet paint HM Dangle and so on, so they did not get to trade.

Here is the best part if you did not, or were not able to make a trade, Scoop took your name tag and handed it off to two of his assistants which took the tags back into the back and they went into the wonderful world of Disney Magic pin chest, and found close to if not on the money comparable pins to match the requests on the name tags.

If hey they could not find you a match, you got a chance at me and the vest, so everybody got a pin and I mean some fantastic pins were handed out. On the vest that I could tell I had auction pins, I had retired pin, cast pins and LE100 pins. I’m telling you what people got some good stuff.

Now I stink at names, plus I was in the corner getting pin poked, so chime on in if this was you. Somebody got that I know of as their holy grails… A Scoop pin, a King Triton from the cruise pin, an artist proof Aurora pin not released as oh yet, and that was just the surface.

A little girl whose birthday was yesterday, and who loves the boys AKA Licorice and Butterscotch was awarded with a signed copy of the boys… She thought it was just a loan and was quite surprised when she figured out they where hers to keep.

So since I stink at names, and was stuck in a corner chime on in, and tell us what you got.

P.S. I’m not supposed to know this… but there was something special about that vest I had on… I may or may not reveal my secret!!!!

So today was a special day that came from the heart from Scoop to all of you.

Sounds like a fun way to make a come back. I'm glad you had fun but were stuck (no pun intended) in the corner.

Happy Thoughts to all,

Scoop is the best! Last month I took my family to WDW on vacation and Scoop went out of his way to make them feel welcome.

They had a blast going to the pin talks and learning all about how pins were made and how to trade. Even Dakota stayed interested for nearly 15 minutes! (Which by the way is about 14 minutes longer than his teacher could get him to pay attention.)

Mallorie was just about to graduate from high school and really wanted nothing to do with pins when we started on this trip.

By the end of the trip she wanted to go to Scoop's seminar every day just to see him. The highlight of her trip was when Scoop made her an official Scoopie Groupie. She proudly wears that pin now and she is arm wrestling with Trina to see who gets to go in September. I am just hoping that it doesn't end up that I have to stay home while Trina and Mallorie go. Mallorie has been continuously watching the Music Man and is searching for her own set of dogs like Licorice and Butterscotch so she can teach them to do tricks too.

Scoop truly touches the lives of everyone he meets and that is a very rare gift. Oh and for the record, Trina wishes she could have been there today if for no other reason than to help Ed identify which pins he was wearing that did not have pin backs on them. She still seems a little tipped over about that whole candy hitting the English dude episode at All-Star Movies.

The sandles have to go dude.

I see a what not to wear show in your near furture.

But those are the only shoes I own. Not to mention that they make excellent tan marks on my feet by the end of baseball season.

Ed, if he was wearing socks with the sandles, the WNTW applications for him would already be on their way.

Of course, the only reason Jeff isn't wearing socks with sandles is that, from what I've heard, Jeff doesn't own any socks. :p

I'm just surprised the sandles aren't Diamondbacks colors. :teeth:

Hey.. what's wrong with not wearing socks???

And my Eduardo Fashionista Otero, you better be careful about calling out Stacey and Clinton with some pictures I have of you! :) ;)

I knew Scoop was sick, as I had tried to see him the week before but he had called in sick.....

so even though the pin talk was short it was a lot of fun to see people get pins but I am sad Ed missed a part dear to my heart, I blame it all on pinboy!

Robyn, my dear pin gogetter and friend had wrote Scoop that I was coming and in need of a pin.

Yes, I got a Continuing the Tradition pin! I finally got to meet Sccop and get a great pin! Thanks Scoop and Robyn for a great honor on my visit......But no thanks to Ed for missing me!. I think it was the weight of that big heavy pin vest that made him forget.

PS I am very excited to report that I made my goal of making 80 pin trades in 6 days (actually 81!).

It was nice to meet you, and put a face to the name...

Everyonce in a while, Scoop calls on Ed to help him..so this time he had Ed, and Judy, (who is a super pin trader in Disneyland) for those of you who didn't know, so say hello to her when out there..

When he put on that heavy vest..(Judy called him a wimp, and said the one she wears daily out there is twice a heavy) he was so focused on just standing up, he didn't get to say hello...(in case you didn't notice, he did manage to sit as much as he could :p )

So pls forgive him...after all..he just a MAN!!! "'nuff said...:hyper:

and Yippeee too!

I am so glad Joy got to meet Scoop, and some other pinpals, and was awarded a pin that she so heartfully deserves! ::yes::

It's not easy being the <b>Queen of Pin Siberia</b>. A little bit of recognition can ease that strain. :cool1:

So did anyone think to take a picture of this "Joy"ous occasion?

Jeff

Hello. I just wanted to say a Special Thanks (once again) to Scoop for making my dream come true! I was the lucky one who received one of his last Scoop Sanderson pins during this session. What a trill that was! I've been riding on cloud-9 for days now! Even being back at work hasn't brought me down yet. This was one of the last of my "Holy Grails" I've been pursuing for some time. If you happen to read this Scoop, I would like for you to contact me personally so I can show you some of the many framed pin artwork I've done. I've taken alot of various Disney pins and have created and framed them in various artworks. Many pin collectors from CT and NJ have seen (and greatly admire) the work I've done.

my e-mail address .... daisy_n_donald@hotmail.com
