The Best New Year's Eve Ever ~ Part Two ~ Day Two

Sunday 28th December '09 ~ High 69F & Sunny

Once again we were up with the larks and out for 7am Extra Magic Hours at Disney Hollywood Studios. First off we got fastpasses for Tower of Terror and we rode RockNRollerCoaster (a walk on), we then rode Tower of Terror (also a walk on), and as the park was so quiet, we joined the 50 minute line for Toy Story Mania (which was actually only 30 minutes)

Next we wandered over to see Lightning McQueen and Mater and then rode Star Tours (again a walk on)

We were feeling a little peckish, so stopped off at Starring Rolls for a cake each and some orange juice. Our next stop was to visit Buzz Lightyear in Pixar Place, and then we used our fastpasses for ToT

We finished off our visit to DHS with a photo op at Animation Courtyard with Russell and Dug from Up

As we left the park, we wandered through the shops, then hopped in the car and drove to DTD. I bought a nice bag and scarf with some Christmas money from my mum & dad in TrenD, and Bek bought a Mr Potato Head/Transformers 'Bumble Spud' from the Once Upon a Toy Store

We then drove back to the Pop for a lie by the pool, which was lovely till the clouds got in the way of the sun, but hey, us Brits are made of sterner stuff, and we weren't going to let a cool breeze put us off


After a quick shower we headed up to Festival Bay, where I bought a nice summer top from Ron Jons and Bek bought a couple of t-shirts from Hot Topic

Next we called in at Super Target and Best Buy up by the Mall at Millenia, and Paul treated himself to a Nikon SLR camera

Once back at the room, Bek had had enough of us oldies and decided to chill in the room, so Paul & I went back to DHS. It was a bit nippy tonight, and I actually had to wear gloves (not funny, I'm in Florida !!). We rode Toy Story Mania again with some fastpasses we'd picked up earlier (now showing a 100 minutes wait) , and then we strolled around the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights while Paul played with his new camera

Once back at the Pop, we shared a chicken penne alfredo and a couple of Mai Tai's before heading to beddy-byes

Another great day hon, fantastic photos, I remember when Vic and I went at Christmas once we had to wear hats, gloves, jumpers etc, its so wrong lol

Lovely photos, especially like the one with Russell, my fav character at the moment as just watched the film last week.

It looks quite chilly, have never been in December but would love to see all the Christmas displays. I think having to wear gloves is so funny.

Another great day. Shame about the cold, but unfortunately it does happen. I too have walked around Disney is a coat with scarf and gloves at this time of year. Love your photos

Paul got some great pics on his new camera. I quite fancy myself an SLR at some point. Are they any cheaper over there or are they more or less the same price?

Love the photos, another great day. What Nikon did Paul buy? i'm looking at maybe changing mine but I have a Canon & reluctant to swap brands but the night photos from Paul's camera were fantastic

I love the lights at DHS and your pictures are great

We were there the year before at Christmas and fell lucky with the weather - hoping it misses this year when we go - but I have been when you need warmer clothes. However, we Brits are in shorts and the locals in jeans and padded jackets at the best of times

It was cold Mand wasn't it, I have never been so wrapped up in Orlando. We were all so lucky that it was warm on New Years Eve, or was that the alcohol numbing us!
