Well, here we are, goofing off at home, didn't make it to NYC. Since we weren't flying together with Elaine, we were lower priority on the standby, and by the time they got down to us there was only 1 seat left. Oh well, I do have a new plan for a fun trip. That heavy metal concert I wanted to go to will be in West Palm Beach on Aug. 7, http://www.gigantour.com, so I might try and JetBlue it down there. Hanging out here with the boys this weekend had made me lazy, some good meals, some bad meals, too much late night snacking. I did get some good sleep, and we're going to mow lawns tonight. July 24th is Pioneer Day here in Utah, commemorating the arrival of the Mormon Pioneers in 1847. Its a pretty big deal here, and we got the day off from work. Gotta light a fire under myself, get some stuff done around here. Need to mow my own lawns too.
The scale on Saturday and Sunday was hovering aroung 380-382, I almost felt like i could go ahead and get the 15 lb. clippie, but i was back up a little this morning, so I think I'll wait until its a solid 380 or less. Gotta get serious about it again, I really want to do this.
 :hyper:  :crazy2: :rockband:

Hey, sometimes you gotta have those "lazy" fun weekends!!!! Glad you go to spend some time with your boys.

Time to start anew Don - you can do it!!!!!

Keep on
Chris

Hey Don,

The concert sounds like fun! Sorry you didn't get to NYC.
I feel that clippie coming soon for you!!! :sunny:

Mike

Keep it up Don, you will get that 15 lb clippie in no time! Great job resisting the Dr P, it looks like you have finally tamed that lion!

Hi Don,

Just got caught up on your journals. Way to go on resisiting the Dr P at the bowling alley. That must feel great!!!!

Sorry you didn't get to NYC this weekend, but i bet the "lazy"weekend was great too!!!!

You are going a good job, even if you have fallen a few times. Get back up and start over!!!!

Keep it up Don!

Thanks folks! Yeah, it was a bummer not to make it to NYC, and Elaine was chicken and didn't want to go into the city alone with the girls, so she took the morning flight to JFK, which left about a 4 hour layover instead of all day, so they just hung out in the employee lounge. I have new plan tho! Gigantour will be in West Palm Beach on Sunday Aug. 7, and its just a short city bus trip from the airport to the amphitheater, even shorter from the airport to the beach! Stay tuned!

So, instead of flying to NYC, we mowed the IL's lawn and grilled burgers and dogs with them. Glad to get that done, and the food was good, MIL picked out a very good watermelon. Had a few chips and several cups of punch, and ate too late, but then went home for a final cleanup for an hour and then to the airport to pick up the girls. It was good to see them again, good hugs!   For lunch earlier I had the last of the roast out of the fridge from the Sunday before, a week old but still smelled ok :teeth: Had a packet of Horsey sauce and a couple of Arby's sauce. Had a bowl of peanut butter crunch and a bagel for bfast, blah. Now that life is back to normal I'll try harder to stay OP. Had a egg mcmuffin type thing this morning, had a bfast brick and a small granola bar a little later. Think I'll use the KFC chicken salad coupon again for lunch.

Made it past 1 month with no caff. soda, gotta step up the exercise and good eating habits now. Scale was back up to 382 this morning, if I eat right and early, exercise and get to bed earlier tonight i'm hopeful for tomorrow.
Keep on truckin'!! Watch out bananas!!!  :moped: :moped: :rockband:

Hey Don! :wave2:

Congrats on your one month no soda anniversary!!! That's awesome Don! :cool1: I bet that since life is getting back to normal for you and your family now that your scale will start showing some major losses!

Maybe all of us WISHers going to WDW in December should come up with some kind of challenge. That way, when we see the mouse, we can celebrate in style! :teeth:

Have a great day Don! :sunny:

i agree with Tracy, that's SUPER 1 mo, no soda...I'm approaching 3 months with no soda and I don't even miss it..to be honest, the thought of it kind of makes me nauseous!

ok, off to do something!!!

KEEP SWIMMING DON!!! :fish: I'll be looking for you in this GRAND OCEAN... ;)

Jen :fish: ;)

Hey Don!

Congrats on one month without caff. soda! Great job man! did you ever think you'd make it? Well you did!! And remember, one step at a time still gets you to your destination. You will find your way with your eating and your exercise, have faith in yourself and all will come! :cool1:

Have a great day!
Mike

Thanks for the kind words! I do feel good about kicking the soda habit, and a December challenge sounds fun.

Eating is better with things back to normal at home, it was Del Taco family night, had a taco salad, 1 ultimate and 1 soft taco, finished by 7:30. Very tired so went to bed with the baby at about 10, woke up at 2am and got undressed! Set alarm for 6, woke up quite refreshed, cooked 4 eggs, scrambled with cheese, hot sauce and ketchup on top, swig of milk out of the jug (don't tell anybody), then got the water bottle out of the fridge for my commute. Made a big salad with a bag of romaine salad mix, mushrooms, cheese and about half of a big bbq chicken breast. Found some cottage cheese, half full tub. Just ate the salad and now i'm eating the cottage cheese with canned fruit from the breakroom. Dumb, the cans of fruit are big, i only need a little with my cottage cheese, but have little disposable containers so i'll put the rest in the fridge. Missed my chance to walk this morning, i'll have to be sure and do that tonight.
Scale still hovering around 381, that's ok.
:badpc:

Hi Don!!!

Sounds like you are back on track. Way to go!

At least the scale is not making a hugh upward movement! Keep up the good work and the scale will go down!!!

Have a good one!

Hey Don!

Got your IMs and I'll add you to my buddy list! Hope to catch you on at the same time I am soon. I agree with Jamie, sounds like you are getting back on track. Good job!

Have a great one!
Mike :cool1:

I also agree - looks like you are starting back on a good track - having a salad instead of going out and getting something somewhere is a very good choice!!!!! BRAVO to you Don.

Keep on
Chris

Hi everyone, haven't been posting as much as before, much busier here at work lately, cutting into my Dis time! :( :badpc: Things have been going ok, mowed the lawn last night, need to try harder at dinner to cut the portions and carbs. Drinking lots of water, looks like the heat is on here again. Scale still holding steady in the mornings at about 381. Staying overnight at the IL's tonight, so won't get my good saturday sleep-in/weigh-in, maybe sunday. Its looking real good for the gigantour concert flyaway to W. Palm, ridin' busses and sleeping in airports, http://www.sleepinginairports.net, funny site.
Have a great weekend everybody!
   :maleficen :maleficen she's scary!

Hey Don!

Glad to see you posting! Hope that your concert trip happens, sounds like a good time. :cool1: Sorry to hear that the scale has been bugging you. Have you thought about trying out a structured food plan for a while? Even if just for a few weeks to try and help you feel like you have your portions, carbs, etc. in a range you are happy with and your body will react to. Now I am the last person to be telling someone to try this diet or that diet, I just offer the suggestion from the frustrations I see you post. Another suggestion I would toss out there is cutting down on your fast food meals. (I know time is a huge consideration!) I say this because many items that look healthy at the fast food places can still contain ingredients you may not know are there, aka sugar in seasonings and corn syrup in everything. The plan I follow talks a lot about MSG and its effects on hunger also. So a product could have an ingredient listed as "natural flavors" when they really mean MSG. Now of course YMMV with this info and not everyone is sensistive to MSG but some are especially those of us drawn to the carbohydrates. So use it as you will or don't! I just offer info I have gathered. hehe! :goodvibes

Ok, i will stop talking! hehe I hope that you have a happy & a healthy weekend!

Hi Mike, you're totally right, I've been supplementing my good food with bad food, not a good thing. Its all about planning ahead for me, gotta do the bfast casserole again this week.

Weekend was pretty good, ate a taco salad on the way to the Mormon Handcart Pageant, http://www.handcartpageant.com/. Nice show, went to the sites in Wyoming back in June. Saturday had a big breakfast, eggs, bacon and pancakes, then mowed IL's lawns again. Spent the afternoon changing the spark plugs in my car, its a V6 lumina, the front 3 plugs were easy, but the back 3 were murder. Took me about an hour and a half, was really sweating until i got out the electric fan. Then went out that night with Elaine, she got a gift certificate for dinner from work for working overtime. We went to a fun mexican place, Cafe Pierpont. Overdid it a little, had a 3 enchilada plate, beef, chicken and crab, yummy!! Nice salsa bar, ate too many chips with it.

Sunday started with homemade eggmcmuffin, then had a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. Grilled marinated chicken leg quarters for dinner, salad, corn and mashed potatoes. Walked for only about a half hour last night before the lightning started getting too close. Had a BK sourdough bfast sandwich with Elaine this morning, had to take the car in to the mech, changing the spark plugs didn't fix it, still missing. Probably either plug wires or clogged injectors, beyond my limited abilities.

So, I went ahead and changed the dang clippie, been hovering around it for a while now, last 2 days its been right on it, maybe the high side of it (dial type scale, not digital). Needed a new goal.
Gotta do more banana dancing!

Hi Don,

Congrats on the new clippie! You will earn a new one soon I am sure too!
Planning ahead is key when it comes to staying in command of our eating. Though doing the planning can be rough some times. I hope that you find some more helpful tools to help yourself in that area! The bfast casserole is a great idea! Make it up in muffin tins and you have a great "fast food" to take with you on the go! :cool1:

Sounds like you had a good weekend, I hope your week is even better! :sunny:
