Good morning folks! Thanks for the good WISHes!
Hi Vee (lillygator)! thanks for stopping by. I don't know if I can stand another Gator fan around here, after ya'all stole our coach. Just kidding, we've still got a good one.
So, here's the Weekend Update (just imagine its Dennis Miller, my favorite WU anchor, SNL). BIL and boys showed up Friday night, and yes, we did have pizza, and no, I didn't scrape the crust. I did eat more wings and a little less pizza, wings = no carbs! especially the hot ones. Have to remember that next time the family wants pizza. I usually order Domino's, I drove for them for about 11 years total (I love reading delswife's driving stories), so I figure that about entitles me to the lifetime employee discount. I drove for a different store than the local one, and the manager here doesn't know I quit. Plus I've been thinking of re-upping in Sept or so to get DisMoney. Dom's wings are the best, family loves the BBQ, give me the heat please. I spent the whole night dumping my new Dis knowledge on the BIL, got him totally psyched to go. I thought DW had said that he was the one dragging his feet for the trip, due to no paid time off available, but he was totally "we gotta go, book that adjoining room for us NOW". Didn't get a chance to talk to the SIL, but she did say that she told DW that's she's not ready to give up yet. No worries, gonna make it happen.
Saturday cooked a big breakfast for the crew, french toast, bacon, sausage, and eggs. I did eat 2 pieces of whole wheat french toast with syrup, but then filled up with the rest. Ate too much, and too late, since we then had the family reunion in the park. I didn't eat too much at the reunion, it was too hot, who was the dork that scheduled a fam reunion in the park in july, 103 degrees!! Had a roast beef sandwich, no chips, much water. I did partake of several dessert items, but the good part was that we were pretty much done eating by 3, and then I didn't eat anything else the rest of the day! We kind of forgot about dinner and all went to the movies instead. The other SIL was there too, the wild biker one from colorado, with her daughter and grandson, along with a BIL and family that is local. We split up into 3 movies, so when I bought tickets for my family, it was 1 adult for Mr and Mrs Smith, 1 adult and 1 child for Fantastic 4, and 2 child for Wonka LOL!! I went to F4 with DD9 and a couple of cousins. Fun movie, could have been longer, critics are grumpy old cusses, I like fun summer popcorn movies. Hope they make a sequel. Then on the way home, crazy SIL biker chick's truck died. We we're up until 3 am trying to fix it and then towing it to my house, so everyone slept at my house that night, quite the crowd.
Sunday I was the only one who got up and ready for church, since I have to lead the music. Funny, we had a momentary power outage during one of the songs, organ quit for about 5 seconds but we all just kept singing anyway. Sundays are usually a late bfast, and then a big dinner at about 5. Had more french toast and sausage for bfast, then 1 slice of pizza after church to tide me over. Dinner was pot roast, mashed taters and gravy, bag salad, fresh cucumber slices, peach jello with mandarin oranges and kool-ade. I wasn't very good, I guess the only positive is that I didn't have that 2nd helping of taters I wanted, had a big salad instead. That would have been it for the night but DW made choc chip cookies, and I had to go to the store for eggs, so I bought ice cream too, bad bad boy. Ate probaby 3 or 4 cookies and a bowl of ice cream, but then we went walking to work it off. DW was the one who got us out, good job! A good hour walk, a little longer than our usual route.
We traded kids with the SIL, so my 2 DD are gone for the week, miss them already. We have the 2 older boy cousins, 14 and 11 yrs old. They went walking with us, the older one is a pretty good athlete, quite thin, he ran back and forth to the end of the block while we walked it.
Baked up my bfast casserole finally last night, 12 eggs, half-pound of bacon, mushrooms and cheese. I put it in a 9 in pan, a little too small, made it very thick and took a long time to bake, probably about 40 min., don't know for sure, I just kept sticking a knife in to see if it was done. Had that for bfast, with ketchup and hot sauce, not bad.
Scale is finally looking better, clippie out of danger, 15 clippie in sight. I really think the key for me is getting enough sleep, making good food choices and exercise! Gonna focus on those things this week.
