The Bahamian Rum Runners! May 18, 2012 - 5 Nights on the Magic!

Yay all done! I uploaded the Word file to our 4Shared site, if for some reason it is not compatible with your version of word, just PM me your e-mail address and I'd be happy to send it to you! I'm glad this is off my list... now I just need to finish my gifts and make the actual FE!

:woohoo:

Awesome job! Thank you so much!

I've seen a really cute plain canvas bag that had fabric paint on it as a Fish Extender. It was ADORABLE.

On our last cruise, we had ordered a really cute FE, but the shipping got messed up so we weren't able to bring it with us. We used a DVC bag we got on board instead and it worked out just fine. It was one of those lightweight backpack type bags. Just be sure to remember to bring a zip tie to help ensure your bag/FE doesn't swim away. ;)

Prozac, that is awesome, and thank you for doing this!! Now i'm getting cruise fever... as if I didn't have it already... but now it's worse!!! :cool1:

 So...I didn't know I had to check in online and get a specific port arrival time. grrr! I don't remember having to do that for our other 2 DCL cruises, unless I just forgot.
We will be arriving at the port early--like 11am and the earliest port arrival time available was 12:30pm. Do you think they will let us in any earlier since we will be there? How strict are they on the online arrival time you selected? Would a call to DCL help to get an earlier port arrival time?
Oops, I wish I was paying attention better and did my online check-in already.

funny, i just asked the same question yesterday on the FB page.. Jon Stone said he doesnt think it matters for people taking the disney bus in from the airport, that is mostly for drivers.

We aren't taking the Disney bus down to the port :-/
Oh well, if we have to wait a little longer to board, we'll make do. We will have a very anxious little princess with us, so maybe some Disney magic will work for us :goodvibes

With a bit of luck you'll walk onboard right after arriving, thus avoiding the crowds in the first rush to board.

And, don't worry, the ship won't leave without you! We won't let it!

Tower of Terror is really cool. There's more to it than dropping. No spinning so you will probably like it. :scared1:

Tower of Terror is DD's favorite. She rides it multiple times. A few times she has simply walked out the door and back in to ride it again without waiting. I usually go with her as DW can't ride coasters or anything with a whiplash type effect (like Star Wars) due to a neck injury.

Yes, you go up 13 floors or so and then drop (a couple of times) but you only get a glimpse of the park at the top when the door opens, unlike a roller coaster or one of those drop rides (which I like) where you can see the entire area as you get higher. Personally I prefer Tower of Terror to Space Mountain which is a pretty neat coaster ride.

That was actually Melissa (me) replying to you. DH Jon has a facebook but I access it to check on DD 19 and now our Rum Runners! I don't have a facebook.

Well you know you'll be with us! - They can check OUR check-in time! They started this new policy on THE DAY of our Dream cruise 8/2. I think they do that because the Dream was much bigger and they had people waiting in the terminal at 9 AM. Its mostly to discourage that.

Thanks! I'm sure it'll all work out :-)

Seems the Question of the Day has gone astray, so I'll ask one:

Question of the Day:

When (year and/or age) did you first visit Disneyland or Disney World?

I first visited Disneyland about 1960 when I was about 8. The last time I was there was in 1984 or 1985.

I first visited Disney World was in 1980. The last time was in 2010.

My family went to California in 1964 to visit my uncle and made a trip to Disneyland. Didn't go back until 1974 when I was in high school. Took our son in 1985 and 1986 and since then always went to Disney World. After our first trip to Florida we were hooked.

My dad was in the Air Force and during the early 60s we were stationed just north of LA. DL was the BIG thing as it had just opened in 1955 and there was nothing else to really compare to it. However, it was still a pricey day trip when a family of 4 had to live on less than $250 a month. I went a few more times when I was stationed in California myself years later in the early 70s and again in the early 80s. Can't say I miss the A-E tickets though.

However, I fell in love with WDW when I went to it around 1980. DW went to it during the first year it was open and almost every year until we married. Now we go every 2-3 years and our kids grew up anticipating the next trip.

A thought just occurred to me: On my last (and first) Magic cruise, some of the DIS Meet managed to find each other in the terminal prior to the boarding call. We chatted away and got to know each other a little better, the kids played together, and in general we had a pleasant time while waiting to board.

The key to being able to link up was to have some sort of recognition so that we could find each other. What actually worked best was one of the women had a very loud hot pink hat which served as a beacon for the others (though we were surprised at the number of hats in various shades of pink).

Anyone interested in doing this?

You are just too kind. :p

Well, since it seems that since this was my idea I've been elected to be the "beacon" for our pre-cruise gathering in the terminal. I'll have to see what kind of identifier I can come up with. But NO PINK HAT!
