The Bahamian Rum Runners! May 18, 2012 - 5 Nights on the Magic!

Come'on now... everyone....

It's a world of laughter a world of tears...it's a world of hopes and a world of fear. There's so much that we share, that it's time we're aware....... it's a small world after all!

:dance3:

....you won't all toss me overboard now will you? :scared1:

Not in daylight! :scared1:

Having been washed overboard in a storm while in the Navy, I shouldn't joke about going over the side...but, been there done that, so I will! :rotfl:

Actually, I'm probably the only person who doesn't find the song annoying, so I'll throw you a life preserver and notify a CM of your plight once I get the song out of my head....

OH
MY
GOD

That's gonna be running through my brain until the cruise, thank you very much!

forgive me?:flower3:

That is quite gallant of you SIR William. ;)

Same here. I like doing it when the heat and humidity get to be a bit much. You get to sit down in air-conditioned comfort for a half hour, and I like the presentation, too.

My main favorites at MK are POTC, Carousel of Progress, Jungle boat ride, and seeing Big Al at the Country Bear Jamboree. I do all the rides of course, but these are the ones I like the best. OK, and Its a Small World, too. Sickly sweet and syrupy, but I like looking at the national costumes.

Hmmm...that would make an interesting Question of the Day for those who are coming up with ideas....

There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of every dAy.....

My favorite too :)

I just have to vent, I hope you guys don't mind! I found out today that one of the requirements to get into the school of education in my program at school is a 3.0 GPA in all social sciences courses. Well lets just say I DO NOT meet that requirement. I'm REALLY hoping that since the actual wording of the requirement states: "student must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 in ALL social sciences courses" that it means that its a cumulative gpa and not that they look into every class individually but if so...i'm screwed. I'm going in early to talk to the head of the program tomorrow but tonight i'm just freaking out. I need some disney magic because i'm making myself sick with worry!

I'm sorry I know this has nothing to do with our wonderful cruise, i just really needed to vent somewhere!

Good luck Trina... will be thinking about you. Let us know what you find out.

So, it had been about a week since I last checked our cruise meet discussions and I found I had A LOT of catching up to do! :)

The question of the day is fun, but since I'm a few days behind, I won't overload everyone. I have too many favorite songs to list, but I've always been partial to the ORIGINAL Tiki Tiki Tiki Room song and Can You Feel the Love Tonight.

My favorite Disney memory is the same as my DH - DS playing with Mickey on Deck 9 of the Magic while crossing the Atlantic. Sniff sniff ... DS was so little then. Kids grow so fast.

I am personally daydreaming of the cruise a lot lately since I know there is no pollen in the middle of the ocean and there is too much for me to deal with here in Atlanta.

So, what is the question for today??

So, what is the question for today??

I'll ask today's question.

What is your favorite ride at WDW or DL? If you haven't been yet - is there one ride that sticks out in your mind as something you really would love to go on?

For me it would have to be the TTA - seems like a strange choice I know. It is all because of the memories we have made on that ride and the silly family traditions my two DDs and I have. DH just looks at us like we are crazy and shakes his head - but secretly I think he is amused. We always go on during a not so busy time - like during a parade or fireworks. Then instead of getting off we ask if we can go again.. and again... and again. ;) During every curve we raise our hands like we are on a roller coaster and yell wooooooooo. Totally goofy - but it is just silly family fun and makes us really happy.

A close second because I love the ride would be splash mountain.

For me: Splash Mountain and It' a Bug's Life (3D)
For DH: Runaway Train
For Landon: Pirates of Caribbean and Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blaster

A very good question, but I can't really choose just one...there are just too many fun rides (and a lot of fun shows, too).

For me, these are a MUST when we go to WDW: Pirates of the Caribbean and the Jungle Cruise at MK; Tower of Terror and the Hollywood Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios; and Kilimanjaro Safari, Kali River Rapids, and Expedition Everest at AK.

When I went to DL as a kid, I always liked the Nautilus ride the best.

I don't know if it's our favorite, but my family has a blast on Toy Story Mania.

I'm going to go "family" and "personal". Mack (DD10) is NOT into roller coasters yet. I talked her into Space Mountain in August and the entire time she screamed "is it over yet" in my ear.

MK: F: Buzz Lightyear P: Space Mountain

DHS: F: Toy Story Mania P: Rock n Rollercoaster

AK: F and P: Safari

EPCOT F and P: Soarin (DH does a good impression of "Kronk" and can quote most of the safety video)

i want to see the haunted mansion and pirates

Fave rides/attractions:
MK: Big Thunder Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion (had to drag the hubby kicking and screaming into Small World last time! LOL!)
AK:Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest
HS: Rock n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania
Epcot:Soarin', Turtle Talk with Crush

Can't wait to do them all again! :cheer2:

I don't think its strange at all - its one of my very favorites too. I've always loved it since I was a little girl. There are never any lines and its a nice break to just sit and let it take you around tomorrowland. :)

Course, I love pirates, splash mountain, space mountain, rockin roller coaster, Everest (something about roller coasters...).

TTA is one of DW's favorites. She likes to take it after we've finished Carousel of Progress or Toy Story Mania.

Ok, I can't think of a question of the day... so we'll do a character picture of the day! For those of you who haven't been, who do you wanna meet on the ship or in the parks?

Here's one to get us started:

Sorry so small, I accidentally deleted my full-sized pic!

...For those of you who haven't been, who do you wanna meet on the ship or in the parks?

Perhaps the Bahamian Rum Runners could have a meet group (optional of course) for those who'd like to meet up prior to the cruise in the Parks. (Alas, I'm going to the parks AFTER the cruise).

I would also urge any first timers in the Bahamian Rum Runners, cruise or WDW, to post any questions they may have. We certainly have enough knowledge and experience to share with our fellow cruisers.

 I'm away from home for the weekend so don't have any access to photos for awhile - and most of those I have are from pre-digital days. Maybe when I get home...
