The Bahamian Rum Runners! May 18, 2012 - 5 Nights on the Magic!

Hi,
Just curious if my fellow DVC members that are on this cruise identify themselves as DVC when they are on board?
On our last cruise we saw a lot of DVC magnets that were placed on the doors, but never heard anying from DVC. We have been members since 2005 so we should be on the list.
Just wondering if I should call DisneyCruise and let them know or just wait until we are onboard.
Thanks everyone, enjoy your Sunday!
Kristin

In theory, the DVC desk onboard will have a list of all DVC members on the cruise, though occasionally they miss someone who isn't cruising on points. Its easier to just stop by their desk to check with them so that you'll receive the invitation to the DVC reception and also receive the DVC gifts.

thanks! With booking so late I would not be surprised if we were not on the list.We have never used points so that makes sense!

We have never cruised on points, but have received the magnets / reception invite every time. Just let the DVC folks know if you don't get a magnet.

That is a really good idea. I wonder if the price of water would be really jacked up in Key West though? I can remember our last cruise when we stopped there I needed cold meds and found a pharmacy pretty close by. The prices were almost double what I would have paid normally - but they had a much better selection than on the ship.

If I remember correctly, we bought a small case of water from a CVS in Key West and I don't think it was much more expensive than back home. We also bought a case of beer which was average price.

We don't use points to cruise either and last time we got a magnet.. one on each of our rooms. One was stolen however. :sad2:

I've had this cruise booked for a while, but had to wait to find out DD's exact school and final exam schedule for this semester. It all worked out and we will be joining you on this cruise.

We would love to participate in the FE exchange. Do I need to PM someone to get signed up for FE? (I don't have time right now to catch up on all the threads, but don't want to miss out on getting signed up).

We (me - 59; DD20) are Platinum members and love cruising on DCL. Unlike others, we enjoy our time in Nassau. That, combined with stops at Key West and CC attracted us to this 5-night itinerary. We will spend a few days at WDW after the cruising; staying at AKL - Kidani Village.

Look forward to meeting our fellow DISers on this cruise!

I have heard different thingss about Nassau. What do you think is a good shore excursion to do there? I have heard that the Atlantis waterpark isn't worth the money? What do you think since you have been there?

Hi there! Don't worry, I'll PM you with what I need!

Wow! I am impressed. Nice work on the chart! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone,

Sorry we've not kept up with the crusie forum as much as we hoped too. We had a rough January. We had to put our cat to sleep.:sad1: She was pretty much our child. Things are getting better though.

On to good news. Not only are we doing this cruise, but we are doing 4 days/3 nights at WDW after the cruise. We will be staying CSR. We are really looking forward to this vacation and are really excited about Key West. We are trying to narrow down which excursion we want to do in Key West. We know we want to do a tour of some sort. A picture at the southern most point marker is must. Any one have suggestions?

We are also on the hunt for an excellent server. Anyone know of any on the Magic? We called the other night and set our dining rotation to CP, L, AP, AP, CP. We wanted to eat at AP twice. I think the 4th night is pirate night. Night 3 is dress up (I think).

By the way my name is Chris and my wife's name is Sarah. I think for right now we are going to pass on the FE. I need to confirm that with Sarah, but I'm pretty sure that we won't be particapating.

Hi Chris,
So sorry for you loss! It is one of the hardest things to deal with I am sure. Our cat is 18 years old and in failing health - we are trying to take it day by day...

I had no idea that you could call and request a dining rotation! We are doing the second seating, although main seating is still available we have decided to give this a try and see if we like it.
As for Key West we are hoping that friends that are staying in Naples are going to meet us there. They have offered to take us on a tour since they have been a billion times or so.
My name is Kristin and my Husband is Michael, we are going to give Vero Beach a try for a few days after the cruise. Super Excited! Ok rambling over--too much coffee lol.
Happy Planning

I didn't know you could request rotations either. We might try this as we're going to Palo one night and love eating in Lumiere's so we don't want to miss that. Also, I've never seen a dining rotation on DCL where you eat at the same restaurant on back to back nights, but they may be changing it up a bit or something. :confused3 In any event, I know we will ALL have a great time while onboard and we are really getting excited about the trip and are looking forward to meeting everyone. :goodvibes

When we were on the Dream in September and the dining had back to back nights. We had RP, AP, EG, EG.

We are really excited about eating at AP twice. Our least favorite on the Dream was RP (still good though). I heard that L on the Magic was alot like RP so we only want to eat there once. We did Palo brunch on the Dream. Might do it again, but I wanted to ask how dinner is? Is it worth giving up a regualar rotation for this? If so, we might try to do it on our last night when we repeat CP.

I'm going to call DCL this week and see if I can choose a rotation also.

And I agree...Royal Palace on the Dream was a bit of a disappointment. WAY too big and just a little chaotic, too. They need more servers on that ship. Our poor server was actually sweating, just trying to run from table to table.

Lumiere's on the Magic is smaller, and better (my opinion).

We have a Palo dinner planned for the Magic, as well as a brunch. Can't wait!!! Palo is definitely worth skipping a regular dinner for!

We also called and requested our dinner nights. We are A,P,L,L,A. First seating. BTW just to update the chart, We are in room 2098. Katie 26, Mike 27 and Isabel 7 going on 17 lol. Sorry, I am new at this. :confused3

Thank you. We were also taking everything day by day over the last few months with her. Roxie was 15. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
