****The April 2015 thread**** come check in and chat!

Has anyone stayed at PP or DLH in one of the rooms for 5? Just curious exactly how big the day bed is?? Is it big enough for an adult ?

I noticed Indiana is closed starting on the 20th. Anyone have an idea how long it will be down?

Thanks!
Just checked the park schedule and it lists Indiana jones as closed for refurb at least from the 20-23 so far, gotta remember to ride on the 19th!

We stayed in one last fall. My husband did sleep in it one night as he was sick and didn't want to get anyone else sick. He is a big guy and it was a little small for him. But a smaller adult would probably be fine. If I remember right, it's pretty close to the length of a twin bed, but a little narrower.

Going April 6th to 13th!! Abit concerned that its during Spring Break.. had I known that in advance I probably would have picked other dates!! First time going.. any advice for those who have gone during Spring Break? is it insanely busy :(

I believe the majority of schools in the west have their breaks before Easter, but there are probably some that have it that week. Disney must know that some do since they have the longer hours that week. You will feel the crowds more in the narrow corridors Disneyland than you will at California Adventure. So follow the PP advice of getting to the parks when they first open. If you have EE privileges, use them. Otherwise, start your day at the park that doesn't have EE. If you want to do parades or fireworks or such, just be sure to stake out a spot early. I have been there when it is very busy and it's still a great vacation. Any day in Disney is better than any day not in Disney. Right? And if you get too overwhelmed by the crowds at Disneyland, head over to California Adventure.

Then there are schools like we have in Washington. Our spring break is April 20th thru April 24th. That is because we get a week off in February also. It was great when I was a kid because my school district was the only one. Now there are several in WA. But, it does make travel easier!

Eeek! First couple days of our trip have been posted on the schedule!!! Now I can start planning our days :D

Sooooo disappointed!!! :( I had a special trip planned for me and my 12 y/o son for April 19 - 25th. I've been having more and more back pain for the last 3 weeks (triggered by violent coughing from pneumonia at Christmastime) --- going for a CT scan on Wednesday then possibly an MRI. I was determined to make it work until last Tuesday when I couldn't get myself out of bed. My husband had to definitively tell me that there was no way I was going with my DS to Disneyland right now.

My son is such a sweetheart, he is more worried about the pain that I'm in than about being disappointed but I am feeling devastated. I will probably keep reading about everyone's trips on this thread so I can experience it vicariously! We will do it someday... :rolleyes2

Disney on, you guys! Enjoy your trips!

Oh, I am just devastated for you. I'm thinking about how I would feel in your situation and it would just break my heart. But your husband is right - you've got to take care of yourself right now. Make sure you are 100% better and then you can reschedule that trip with your son. And then you guys will have a blast. Don't worry - DL has been around for almost 60 years - it'll be here when you get better! Here's to a speedy recovery and let's hope your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth happens VERY SOON!

Thank you so much, Kristina. You're very sweet. It means a lot to have my disappointment validated by someone who understands how important Disneyland is to us! I love your perspective that DL has been around for 60 years and it will wait for us. Good to remember!

Oh I'm so sorry! I hope that you feel better soon and that you are able to make that trip when you are better. You'll have a much better time when you're not in pain. Hugs to you and your sweet son. :grouphug:

Bummer. :( I hate having to cancel much anticipated vacations of any kind, but a trip to Disney would be even more disappointing. But better to go when you are feeling 100% than to have to take it slow and miss too many things or just be plain miserable because your are in pain. Speedy recovery wishes for you.

Oh I am so sorry!!! You rest up and get better - Disneyland will still be there when you are healthy and well again :)

Thank you so much cinderkelly, scrapshappen and carolynleanne. You have no idea how much your kind words mean to me. You all make good points, and I really would not have enjoyed it this way. I think I was just trying to push through for my son, but it wouldn't have made for a very good trip for him. I do believe it all happens as it should, but still so disappointing.
I hope you all have absolutely wonderful trips, and maybe someday we'll cross paths at the Happiest Place on Earth. Bless you all! :thanks:

Do you mean the couch with the cushions that fold down? If so, I think an adult who could fit comfortably on a twin bed would be fine. My two kids shared it (2 and 4 at the time).

Yes! Thanks so much. Was just wondering if my son would fit, he is 5'10 but skinny. Your info helps a bunch :flower:
