The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

I think everyone got asked about the accident. They just showed Rob and Amber squirming and of course the Gay Guys telling Phil how they stopped and helped. They Gay Guys might have stopped, but they didn't help do anything.

Poor Deanna-her eye was swollen shut. I wonder if it was allergies. When we go on vacation someone in my family is usually fighting an allergin. Eyes are always affected right away usually followed by runny nose and then hives. Or, do you think she had Belle's Palsey-which can be trigged by stress and lack of sleep and exhaustion. Something was wrong, she couldn't open her eye lid.

Here is my take on tonight's episode. I'm glad the brothers made it insted of Ray and Deena. He was a total jerk to her. Regarding Rob and Amber, How many teams would have stopped to help them in the same situation? My guess is none. Other teams have been catty toward since the race began especially Lynn and Alex and Susan and Patrick. Rob is correct this is a race and any time they lost wouldn't have been given back to them.

Though I'm a big Rob and Amber fan, I'm pulling for Uchenna and Joyce. They seem really committed and when they gave the bag of clothes to Meredith and Gretchen, that was so nice.

That was really nice of them to do.

I can't believe that Phil took away EVERYTHING!

ANother awesome episode. Love the FOOT RACE TO THE END!!!!

HOw awesome is that one!! I'm glad the brothers made it.

Love the orphanage scene. Looking forward to the next one! Is it a combo- recap of the first 6 episodes with no elimination????

I thought he said one week from tomorrow for the special episode. I'll have to check the guide but I was hoping that meant a regular episode on Tuesday and a clips episode on Wednesday....that would be cool :cool1:

There is a regular show on next week, but also a recap on next week Wednesday.

So glad the brothers were able to beat Ray and Deana. What a jerk Ray is just a toned down version of Jonothan.

Yes the theory still holds.

As for stopping, I'm not sure why Lynn and Alex felt a need to stop. As someone mentioned the crew would be in communication to get help. Not only is there 2 crew people with each team, but there is a another crew doing outside footage. So plenty of people to help.

I was disappointed that Rob/Amber didn't at least slow down and ask. And agree that Lynn/Alex Africa remarks were inappropriate. At least they weren't so obsessed with Romber this week.

;) Great show tonight!

I couldn't believe Rob and Amber wasted so much time with the FF. Why didn't they just leave when they saw another team was already there??? :confused3

I will admit that I'm a bit disappointed that Rob and Amber didn't at least slow down and ask if the brothers were okay. I wouldn't have stopped, but I would have at least slowed down. I'm still rooting for them, though.

I can't believe almost everyone chose the corn task!! That looked MUCH harder and just as time consuming.

Did anyone else get a kick out of the lady Rob and Amber brought along with them from the market? DH and I couldn't stop laughing when she said "Boston Rob! I'm so excited." LOL! That was great! At least Rob and AMber are super nice to everyone they meet along the way. ;)

I bet they took away ALL of Meredith and Gretchen's things because last season, just taking away money didn't seem to have much of an effect on anyone. It never seemed like *that* big of a punishment, IMO.

Also remember the comment that the Jerk - whatever is name is -- said to the cameraman that he didn't want to give any money to the old couple "why prolong their agony to get eliminated???"

Hah, to them the jerk and Deanna that they got eliminated!!

Guess I did remember incorrectly :(.

I might be mixed up too. I think Ray and Rob were near each other and said no, sorry. Ray said maybe towrds the end.

Me too. I had tears in my eyes :sad1: . DH was looking at me like I was crazy but like Uchenna and Joyce we are unable to have children also.

When Joyce made the comment on how special it was to her and how it made her realize that there are children out there who could use a home like theirs I hit DH (lightly to get his attention  ) and said see that's what I'm talking about. That's why I'm all teary.

Go Rob & Amber!! I wouldn't have stopped either. There is nothing they could have done. Why didn't Phil ask everyone else if they had stopped? Rob & Amber weren't the only ones who didn't stop. I cracked up when Rob was talking about how the ride out to the lions was like Jurassic Park, then looked at the camera & said "& we know how that turned out". BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

I thought boyfriends were awful when they went the wrong way & got lost. One of them was looking around & said "oh great, there's Tupac" (or something like that). What an ***. I'm ready for them to go.

Tonight's episode was great & I can't wait for next week.

I too don't remember Meredith and Gretchen asking Rob and Amber for any money :confused3 and either does my DH-Anyways we loved that part of the lady helping them out in the market and all the way to the pit stop-classic :rotfl2:

What does that mean? I guess it went over my head :confused3

I don't think they ever showed them ask Rob & Amber directly. They showed Rob talking about how they were asking everyone for money, but they weren't going to give 'em any. Then they showed Meredith & Gretchen asking Ray & he was standing near Rob & Ray said "no, but maybe later in the leg" (or something like that). I'll watch it again tomorrow with DH to make sure.

I am SO glad that the brothers won the footrace. I really like them and it was nice to see Ray get knocked out.

Rob is amusing but I really, really hope that they don't win this thing. The smugness would be overbearing!

I think Rob said something about not making eye contact with Meredith and Gretchen so he wouldn't have to say no to them. I don't think they were approached. I think Ray was the only one to actually say no to their faces.
I loved that Phil got a little choked up talking to the brothers. The brothers were so emotional about it and Phil got caught up in that.
I'm so glad to see Ray and Deanna go. It's not all Ray,though it's her, too. She annoyed the heck out of me with all her whining. Funny thing is I thought they were doing so well when they won the Fast Forward. Ray was very encouraging on that task. But I think they need to go their separate ways. They really are a couple bound for distruction.
Lynn and Alex are starting to get to me. I was liking them up until this week. The fact that they wouldn't let Romber in the taxi was really low!

Just remembered what that was---or maybe I don't...

There was a part when Lynn & Alex were lost in Johannesberg trying to find the airport....one of them did roll up the window when someone was asking for money.

I'm curious that they didn't show Meredith and Gretchen asking R/A for money b/c maybe they had a "kind" way to say know--like Ray the idiot did with saying "maybe later". Leaving it out makes us think of Rob as a worse guy than he is....b/c with his thought process--we would assume he was a butt about it...and then that coupled with the accident....Rob looks kind of bad this show. Not saying they did stop--but it showed them talking about not stopping and then cut to the car already past it...perhaps they slowed and assessed.....afterall, one team already stopped.
