The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

So far this season, at every pit stop the word "MAY" has been used. Even at the first one. I have yet to hear the team read, "WILL BE" nor have I heard Phil say "WILL BE." But I could be wrong.

But I think this next round will be a non-elem round, because they are going to India. It seems that when ever they have to travel to a new country they have the non-elem, but that hasn't happened all the time. So every one keeps your ears open to see what is said. :)

First, I want to thank Amazing race for showing a clips show that actually had 75% new things - usually when we get stuck with one of these, they are only 10% new stuff and then stuff we already saw. Second, i want to thank them for not replacing it with a tuesday night show just so they could extend their run and instead putting it on another night.

Now to the teams, the clips show reminded me why I was so annoyed with the mother/son team. I love Romber and would play just like them except I would have stopped long enough to roll down my window to say are you okay? and then went on my way. The bf's this past week were funny and not too much on Romber. Can't stand Ron and Kelly - I know Ron was a POW but I think he's mean and Kelly is just annoying. One thing with the clip show - I always wondered if Teams brought their cameras b/c I sure would and then they showed Kelly with one. I will really miss the brothers. They were a great addition and really knew how to enjoy the game - and that comment from one of them saying that they were the only ones not in a relationship and so they didn't have to worry if they would last b/c they were stuck as brothers - :rotfl2: I love this show!

I missed the re-run last week. Had company and wasn't watching TV. And forgot to tape it - I didn't get my TIVO until Wednesday and had I had it the night before, it would have been taped.

TIVO was actually being put in on Tuesday night when my company was there and we played cards because we didn't have the TV yet.

Oh well........ guess I missed a good segment.........

Anyone have an extra tape of it????

I never thought that there were more than a cameraman with the teams either but I did notice another person in some of the vehicles when they were doing the moving the tree challenge and the cameraman was filming from the outside.

So sorry to see the brothers gone!

can't wait for tonight.

Hoping to see Ron & Kelly go or better yet, would REALLY make my night to see Rob & Amber get the boot!

You are SOOO gonna love TIVO!

all it takes for late night programming is a VCR and setting a time.not necessarily needing Tivo. I cant stay up past 9 pm and set all my VCRs for anything from 9 and on.

There is NO WAY you can compare TIVO to a VCR setting. TIVO is extremely better. If you don't have it, you just can't imagine the difference. If your power goes off, the TIVO still works, as to where my power goes off, for some reason (storms, etc.) I lose nothing. The phone line is still working and the satellite still works.

TIVO records several shows AT THE SAME TIME - VCR's can't do that.

I have the power saver on my house and every now and then the electric company clicks it off for a few minutes at their discretion

If only my brain remembered so easily--set it and forget it works best for me.

Alas--maybe I should try the antique again ;).

How come people always complain that because of Tivo when a show runs late(extra minutes to the show) they miss the next show they have programmed in.

I just got it so I have not had this problem yet but it is way better than a VCR- you can even pause live TV. I am watching more shows in less time too. I go right past the comercials. I was sceptical about Tivo too but after having it I think it's one of the greatest inventions ever!!

If you have a dual-tuner this isn't generally an issue unless you have two conflicting shows on after the one with the over-run. I do have this issue one night per week, so to solve it, I just tell the second recording to start three minutes late. I might miss the start of the program, but it's the American Idol results show, so I never miss much of anything. If I were smart, I'd set a manual recording for the last five minutes of that show and end my misery - lol!

Well, the same would happen with a VCR. And actually now that I have a dual tuner it's not a problem at all. I'm sorry, but you can't compare the two. I have not heard of one person that said they don't like TIVO. You should try it. Come on, you know you want to. :smooth:

Wow, is it really necessary to shout at someone about TIVO vs VCR.

I'm sorry to differ with you but the same thing wont happen with a VCR since I am the one doing the programming. If I miss a few minutes of a show it is my own doing not due to the system(?) detecting and recording the show.

Thanks padisney for saying something about the shouting of the previous poster - it was just my opinion....

When I first read this I thought the poster was shouting too, but maybe they just use a large font and capitalize all names of items like TIVO and VCR.

I actually have a DVR from my cable company, so I don't know if I would still get to see my shows if the power goes out....I think so, now if the cable goes out im out of luck....just like that night I was getting ready to watch Taxicab confessions and the cable had gone out the night before and I missed it....but I digress...LOL

I love the DVR over the VCR, I would always forget to set it but with the DVR I just set it to "tape all first run episodes" of each program....ahhh the life!! :cloud9:

I love our Moxi, which is a type of tivo through our cable company, but the only problem is, about once a week, they do a test signal.. then our channel flips to the test channel and records that :( And of course it is always during one of our shows we are recording!!
