The Amazing Race 7...official Thread

Also, I want to point out, the fact that Alex/Lynn made a comment about Uchenna and Joyce being "born to do that", I didn't hear them say that, but if it was said in a snotty, degrading way, it was rude, but when I saw how good they were at it, I did laugh, and said to my DH, about how Uchenna had just got done talking about his Grandfather from Nigeria. I said something about how is African roots were kicking in. I did not mean it in a predudicial way, I said it, because I thought it was great! I laughed when Uchenna even said it himself!

I thought Uchenna said it, now Alex/Lynn (they were both in the scene at about the same time), although my husband thought it was Alex/Lynn. But it was exactly what Uchenna said after they did it which made me think he was the one who said it in the first place. They were amazing!!!!

And as much as the other teams don't want them to win, Rob's a darn good game player! And they seem like they're having fun. :rotfl2:

It was Alex that said it I recorded it and have watched it twice. He said it and I thought it was quiet rude coming from him but Joyce also said something about how easy it was for them to do it because of their Africian roots.

Last night's race had me :rotfl2: Please someone explain to Rob where milk comes from :rotfl2:

Did we learn anything more tonight? I was putting my DD to bed and recording my favorite show, Lost. I ordered another ReplayTV unit yesterday. Man, I wish it were here tonight. No need to worry about what to record ;).

Ok, what made Lynn and Alex think it was a non-elimination leg? They were so sure they were going to be last, but they said nothing about this being the end for them. they were stressing about being left with nothing. So, one of them(don't know who is who) piles on the clothes. It was as if they were 10% sure this was a n on-elimination.
Just in case. They were thinking ahead!

I have to disagree here. Coming from someone who's DH is exactly like Amber, I am going to say that would be very stressful in a race.
Unless the person making all the decisions is comfortable making all the decisions. Some people thrive on being in control. Rob does. He did the exact same thing on Survivor. Amber did nothing.

I don't feel like we learned anything new, Robin. You didn't miss much.

The brothers said this morning that they were 2 hours behind the other teams. They wanted to go out in style or, if it was a non-elimination round - punish themselves for making mistakes! They said you didn't see them spend 40 minutes trying to round up goats! I hope they do an all-stars version of AR and bring back the brothers!
They also said it was their cameraman and their sound man that got hurt.

Would the teams PLEASE kick it up a notch and get Rob and Amber off of there!!!!
I totally agree! I am still devastated about the brothers though. I thought that they had the best chance of beating Rob and Namby Pamby Amber..

I found it very appropriate when amber said "If it weren't for Rob my life wouldn't be this great" yeah she's right she never would have won survivor if she didn't have someone other people could hate making all the decisions for her and taking her to the end. They are both jerks.

As for the brothers I am so sad to see them go, they were very cool! They just seemed to be very down to earth, fun loving and supportive of one another.

The wording about the pit stop clue threw everyone off. It said the last team to arrive "might" be eliminated. Not "will" be eliminated. Coupled with the fact that there are still 2 non elimination rounds, the timing was perfect. With 5 teams left, I would assume that means our next weeks include:

April 12: non elimination
April 19: elimination
April 26: non elimination
May 3: elimination + final 3 to fininsh (sweeps)

About last nights show, I think the producers showed a little different side of Amber. When Rob was tormenting Meredith and Gretchen on the highway, changing lanes and telling them he was lost, she was in the backseat getting very annoyed and letting him know he better cut it out.

They always say "might" be elminated on every episode.

I agree, they never say the last team to check in WILL be eliminated. They always say MAY be eliminated.

The recap episode answered one question that has been posed on this board, and that was why the lady in the Market recognized Rob & Amber. I thought it was neat when Amber found the magazine with their picture on the cover in a store in Africa.

Also, do any of the other finalists get a cash award? On Survivor, for example, all the people on the jury get some cash, I think the further they make it, the more cash they get.

I asked this many pages back and never got a reply. I was wondering that too. I would think you'd get something but don't know for sure.

I'm not sure any of the other teams get a cash reward--I think that's why they have the prizes for each leg. Not sure and no idea on how to confirm this.

The recap episode didn't show very many new things. I agree that I think when Amber does speak up Rob does listen to her. The just compliment each other so much. She has stated during this race that Rob gets frustrated easily and she seems to be able to get him focused. With all the editing you really don't see how she is able to acheive that. I just find them to be a great team. They work well together, read the clues and have made few mistakes. All this without degrating each other.

I enjoyed the clips episode, but I agree that we didn’t learn anything new.

When they got to the orphanage scene, I was sure they would show Uchenna and Joyce spending more time there than we originally saw, but they didn’t. I wonder how much time they were able to spend there.

I loved the part with Ron chowing down on the lamb. That was too funny! I also liked watching Uchenna do flips to earn extra money. I guess this episode answered our questions about whether everyone begs for extra money or not—it seems most if not all of the teams do it.

It was interesting to see that there was a “love connection” between the brothers and the blonde girls. I wonder how that would’ve played out if the girls hadn’t gotten eliminated so quickly.

I enjoyed last night's review show.
I died laughing when Lynn and Alex said they must have picked the gay llama because it was so b*tchy!

It was also funny when Rob and Amber were arguing over the way he pronounced "yo" in Spanish as "jo". When he asked the Spanish speaking gentleman the correct way to pronounce it and Amber asked Rob "What did he say?" and Rob said "he said I was right." and then winked at the camera knowing that the man really said Amber was right. Say what you want about Rob, but he is a pretty funny guy!

So what. It works for her! Why must everyone have the same type of relationship or it is considered bad? What would be the big deal if Amber let Rob make all the decisions? As long as it doesn't bother her then it shouldn't be an issue with anyone else.
