THE AMAZING RACE 15, Season Starts 09/27/09

Oh and they were driving me crazy bickering like little 12 year old girls during the challenge when they were dragging the clay man around.
:rotfl2: They are so annoying with the bickering! Cheyne was awful dragging the man around, too. He was the one whining about how heavy it was and Megan was the strong one!

I wanted the Rabi to say no to the brothers for the broken arm and have them start over so the Globetrotter could catch up ....if they could :sad2:
I was completely expecting that and surprised he didn't.

Can you really blame the brothers for not giving the globetrotters the clue??? They know good and well that if push comes to shove that they would lose to them, it is for a lot of money and I can't say I wouldn't do the same to be in the top three. I don't feel really bad that he did that after all would Big Easy really have shared the clue with him, I kind of don't think so.
I can't blame them for that at all, and I don't believe for a second that Big Easy would have given the brother the answer if he had been the one to figure it out first. Either team would have been stupid to do so in the second to last leg, knowing they were far from first place. He gave him the first letter. Yes, they had to fill out a form first, but they showed someone's paper and it had a bunch of words on it, so it appears they were able to jot down combinations to see what looked right before filling it in on the form.

On the education part - I don't know what their educational background is, but for sure Big Easy didn't learn permutations and combinations! Or he'd have known there were only 24 possible combinations, and with only one vowel, even less that made sense.

The reaction on this board is kind of funny. I remember in Nick and Starr's season, they also said they would work with the Frat boys on one task, figured out the answer on their own, then didn't share it, not even a first letter hint. Then, a bunch of people said it was part of the game, no big deal. :confused3 :rotfl:

I wonder how far Brian and his wife (can't think of her name) had to walk carrying the glasses of beer. They said it took them all night.

I loved watching the GT this season. I'm glad that they lasted this long. I'm just hoping that any team besides the Brothers win. It was dirty play the way he was using Big Easy. However, I thought for sure knowing the first letter was "F" would have helped.

That challenge didn't look hard at all...so they must have had a far distance to go. I am guessing he took 6 and she took 4 each time....that is only 3 trips. So it must have been really far or they had a ton of drops that they didn't show.

Normally I would say it is part of the game with the brothers not helping the GT's. However, in this case I think it was rotten considering the brother approached the GT for help first. With Erica and Brian not even there yet...it really wouldn't have been a big deal to help them a bit more...

I don't really get why he had such a hard time though with that challenge, especially with knowing the first letter. There really were only a few logical combinations of words. There really is no excuse for it except for something like dyslexia.

What bothered me the most was that it was the BROTHER who approached Big Easy and said, "do you want to work together?" He did it because he was having trouble and couldn't figure it out, so he wanted to use Big Easy. Then when the brother got the name right, he didn't need Big Easy any more so he screwed him over and said, "see ya." Kind of a cruddy thing to do and shows what kind of person he is. Yes, he gave him the first letter, but that wasn't the deal, the deal was that they would work together to get the clue TOGETHER. Yes, it's a race and yes, he wants to win, but don't go making a deal and not follow through. Don't make the deal in the first place if you don't want to share the answer IF you get it first.

It's like he did it on his terms, "If you get the answer, give it to me so I get ahead, but if I get the answer I wont give it to you and I still get ahead."

It bothers me because if you were not going to give him the clue, then you should not have asked, then agreed, to work together.

Can you image how much Bit**ing the brothers would have done if Big Easy had done that to them what they did to the GT team. They whine about EVERYTHING. It drives me crazy. I am not sure which drives me more crazy the brothers or Erick. Like nails on chaulkboard when any of those three open their mouth to speak.

It was funny how it was OK for the brother to take a taxi but they didn't want M & C to take their taxi. I just love people who live by their own double standards. It is okay for me to do things but not anyone else.

I am sure the brothers acting like babies every step of the way makes their family proud. :rolleyes1

Keep in mind, they had to fill out the stupid form each time, too. So, it wasn't jsut a matter of unscrambling the letters.

I think the Globetrotters were really hurt by a lack of education. I felt that, too, on the time/lock challenge--everyone else had the critical thinking skills they don't seem to possess. Most people with a decent HS level education could come up with Franz (you know the first letter is "F", "FR" is the only logical 1-2 combination, etc.) I felt so bad for them--such great guys, with great attitudes.

I'm not a huge fan of Megan and Cheyne, but they've run a great race.

I was so hoping they would reject the golum with the broken arm. Of course, we would have had to hear more of the brothers whining, but it would have been SOOO worth it!

so agree with all of this!!

I got to watch the episode online this morning. Like everyone else, I was hoping that the rabbi would reject the golem. How can a golem with a broken arm protect anything? That *might* have been enough time to make the difference for the Globe Trotters and if not at least it would have annoyed the brothers.

I am still rooting for Team Zebra for the win. Kudos to Brian for drinking the shot even though he doesn't drink alcohol. He did it was limited drama. Speaking of drama, I was LOL over Erika's promise to punch one of the drunk locals out if they touched her again. I also loved Erika's reaction when they found out they were 3rd.

I have to give credit where it is due, Meghan and Cheyne are running a great race, although they seem to be a bit cocky about winning so many legs. At this time I would be OK with them winning. They deserve it.

The brothers don't deserve it. I just want to point out that I have been a himbo brothers hater since the start of the race. Of course, it's not as exciting to have 3 teams you like going into the final episode, so I am looking forward to rooting against them :cool1:.

I was so annoyed that one of the brothers called the gollum challenge the "challenge from hell" right in front of the rabbi. I thought that was terribly disrepectful. :sad2:

I had a hard time believing that the racers went into a chamber that was minus 160 degrees Celsius.

I do not know what that translates into in Fahrenheit. However, -40 degrees Fahrenheit and -40 degrees Celsius are the same (it is the only point where they agree). It is also the point (or very close to it) where Mercury freezes, hence normal temperature gauges will not operate below that mark; you must use alcohol to try to measure anything colder (alcohol does not freeze until minus 200 Fahrenheit).

At minus 40 degrees the skin will freeze almost instantly. My wife joked that it must be a ‘dry cold’. Anyway, I simply do not believe they were in there for two minutes, if it was truly minus 160 degrees Celsius.

Anyone of the scientific bent wish to comment? (my knowledge is due to quick surfing).

I am impressed nonetheless!:thumbsup2

-160 Celsius is -256 Fahrenheit. Why don't you believe it? I doubt that the show is lying about it.

Professional runners, cyclist, triathletes, and other athletes use cryotherapy often, especially in Europe. As long as it is done correctly and for a short enough duration it is considered safe.

I would assume the thermometer is electrical and not mechanical.

I'm not that scientific, but I think it would be 256 below zero Fahrenheit, right (32 - 160 x 1.8)?

Dh and I also thought it seemed their skin would freeze immediately. Then they came out and their skin wasn't even red or anything. :confused3 Seems strange.

ETA: oops! guess I was slow typing. Never mind!

Well I sure hope that the brothers lose this race. I don;t like cheaters and I can;'t abide liars and these two seem to be willing to win by lying and cheating. I believe that the Trotters would have get the bargain if Big Easy got the combination first. They have have played fair throughout.

I have no idea why the combination was difficult for BE, I can only say that I cannot never unscramble words and numbers are :confused3 for me.

I don;t care who wins now as long as it is not the Brothers. The Poster who suggested that future employers may see the race is right, I would nto want either one working for me and I think working with either one would be beyond stressful...talk about watching your back all the time!

The C to F formula ceases to work below zero, is my understanding.

Anyway: remember a previous AR where racers had to swim in a frozen lake? They dived in at one hole in the ice, pulled themselves along for 20 or so yards, then out the other hole. I recall there being doctors taking temperature, checking the heart rate, body temperature, etc. The racer could not leave the tent until his body signs had returned to normal. I bet that, as cold as that water was, it was not minus 160 celsius.

Did it seem to you like they had to ride a stationary bike for a bit to get their vitals up before they got their clue? It seemed like that part was completely edited out, but one of the girls was getting off a bike I thought.

I too saw her on the stationary bike. It is truly adding insult to injury to freeze a person and then make them exercise.

I bet you're right because we saw Erika getting off the bike when they were given their clue. I was thinking that she was riding it to warm herself up but I could see that it was a requirement.
