Oh no! Please check in.:(

I just heard on CNN that it was the Green line and that there are multiple injuries. It occurred about 1 1/2 hours ago, I thought that I heard it was a head on collision. I wish we would hear from Becky.

Darn! I thought of you last night while I was watching TV, they had recorders on How It's Made on Discovery. The ones they were showing were made out of wood though.

When Dan was in high School he was in the Madrigals. They had a few recorders in that group and when one of the student's parents found that they had no "real" recorders he presented the group with one of his. it was very valuable and the music was beautiful.

Kyle's first pitching lesson went very well. It was an 11 yr old and his parents were very happy with what Kyle did with him they gave him $40(he only charged $30), and that was only for 45 minutes. Kyle kept count of how many pitches the boy threw and he was at his limit age-wise after 45 minutes. The rest of the time was spent with the two of them "talking baseball".:goodvibes

SO happy to hear that this first lesson went well. The fact that Kyle stopped the boy when he was at limit speaks well of him and was probably one of the qualities that the parent observed that made him realize that Kyle was worth more than his asking price. Good Job!

Dinner was good. I usually cook my bone in pork roasts in a dutch oven like my Mom did but today I coated it with a spicy honey mustard, S&P, garlic and rosemary and roasted it in the oven with potatoes. Yum

Yes you can freeze pizza dough. Just give it more time to thaw than I did! (more than 1 1/2 hours)

Thanks! :thumbsup2 I was thinking the next time I go I will buy a couple of them, then when I want pizza I don't have to trek out there to get some.

If I get the time tomorrow night I may just go ahead and make pizza crusts on the grill. Make them one person size then I can just pack up the toppings and make the pizza in the toaster oven at work. :woohoo:

Hope Becky is okay. :worried:

Oh boy...hopefully she or Laura will check in soon. I would imagine they are stuck in traffic (not traffic but you know what I mean).

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that Becky and John are fine. I haven't checked what happened yet, but I called and they were not involved.

I'll respond to everything else separately.

Hi Everyone,

Laura, thanks so much for letting us know they are OK!:goodvibes

So, what do you guys think? Am I going to need a vacation from my vacation?

You are going to be very busy!! However, you will have a great time. I really enjoyed the day trip to Windsor...it is beautiful there. I am sure it will be more beautiful this time of year. I went there in January. I am also very jealous of your seeing Midsummer Night's Dream at the Globe. That will be wonderful. Have such a great time! I want to hear all about it when you get back.

I am going to be the lucky attendee to Andrew's concert tomorrow. Did I mention my little man plays the bells...:confused3 I guess they have to play them before the drums...

Becky used to play the bells. We were in a drum and bugle corps when we were kids. Talk about a way to torture our parents! That may explain why they were so adament that we quit...:rolleyes1 Enjoy the concert!

Okay Laura & Becky, here's the full recipe.

I would also recommend using a really thick piece of tuna, if you like it rare.

Thanks, Sheryl! And yes, we both like it rare. Luckily, the fish markets near us just have the tuna loin in the case, and you can ask for a steak at whatever thickness you want. I think Beck once got one that was 3 or 4 inches thick...that was a little much.

Kyle's first pitching lesson went very well.

Yay, Kyle! If you were closer, I would hire Kyle to help Liam.

I am going to Puerto Vallarta at the end of August and I hope to be able to do a little scaredy cat snorkeling. :rotfl: I can't swim very well, just enough to save myself, and don't like deep water so I hope I can do it near the shore or in really shallow water.

Beck would have more specific information, but apparently there is some sort of raft available for scaredy cat snorklers (I am one too  ) that allows you to see into the water, without you actually being entirely in the water. I don't know about Puerto Vallarta, but my mom saw lots of fish in St. John, and she doesn't go in past her waist, and she definitely doesn't snorkel.

When Dan was in high School he was in the Madrigals. They had a few recorders in that group and when one of the student's parents found that they had no "real" recorders he presented the group with one of his. it was very valuable and the music was beautiful.

When I was in Romeo and Juliet...many moons ago...we had a madrigal group play the music and they had real recorders. It was much different from the squeaky plastic ones our elementary school children play.

Liam's team lost again tonight, 7-0. Once again, they faced a pitcher who was just so much better than what the kids usually see at this level. The one good thing was that it was a fast game. I was home by 7:40. Liam struck out twice...too bad Kyle isn't a hitter too. Liam could really use some help there.

Our little picnic was pretty good though. We had Beck's leftover fried chicken, salad, bread and brie, watermelon, strawberries, and I made brownies this afternoon for dessert.

Yes, yes you will but you can sleep at home ;)

Hello everyone! Nancy, thanks for your concern, but we were not involved. Laura called me to check on us and I was thinking "huh?" I hope everyone is OK.

Glynis, your trip sounds AWESOME! I am very jealous. It seems that you are hitting all of the higlights.

Also, John has a food recommendation for you. He says to go to a snack van and order a "99." It is a big ice cream cone of vanilla soft serve with a flake bar stuffed in it. (Flake bars, for anyone who has not seen one, are these really crumbly chocolate bars that are super popular in the UK! Laura is a flake hound)

Here are some recent photos. Platter of cumin crusted cornish hens:

Tonight we are having stuffed pepper stoup and extra-special Kitty bread :)

Becky- You now have an idea what my poor family goes through on a daily basis. They are especially pestered during the winter when there are snow related accidents:worried: Then there are the bike accidents....my poor sister and her DH are the unhappy recipients of more "Just calling to say Hi" calls than they can cope with.....

Laura- the recorders are really beautiful instruments. The parent was appalled that our school did not own one, but they are pricey. Listening to the madrigals with a real recorder made for a treat that we had not had before. The musicians in that group were selected and were well rounded musicians who were involved in the concert band and often the jazz band, proving that there is hope for Liam. Dan played the keyboard in grade school, opting not to choose another instrument. Once he got to the 6th grade there would only be one keyboard player in the band and he was a realist so he decided to take the trumpet. He was terrible! Marisa used to bribe him to practice on the front steps just to get him out of her earshot. By the 7th grade he was accepted into the jazz band and in 8th he was lead trumpet. after 4 years of high school he was a truly good technical musician and I could hear his voice every time he played. In his senior year he was asked to take the 4th chair and he was very angry but would not talk to the instructor, he just sucked it up, I could not understand why. Well once the trumpet section started I could hear his voice raise the section and he finished with a beautiful solo. His instructor told me that the 4th section needed a strong player that year and he was capable of taking that position and carrying it, but he said that he watched him struggle with what seemed to be a slight. I was heartbroken after he graduated that he donated his trumpet to the school, I used to love to hear him play :sad2: Once more reason that I cried a lot that summer.

Good morning all!

WFD - penne & meatballs.

:surfweb: I have alot of reading to do to try to catch up on everything I missed. We had a wonderful weekend, it felt like it flew.

Good Morning!

I have a crazy day ahead. I am going to visit Mom this morning...its a 2hr roundtrip drive so that eats up most of my day already. Then I am helping distribute Market Day orders after school (I bought alot this month...I hope I have room in the freezer) and then Andrew's concert this evening.

We are eating on the run...possibly sandwiches or what ever suits our fancy from Market Day!

Have a great day all!

Morning all,

Last night was Awesome! We (me, DBF and my Dad) Went to Crystal's last softball game and then ordered out subs when we got home. (We NEVER eat out) Long night but well worth it. This was my Dad's first trip out in public since he came home. :cool1: :yay: He was nervous, but went anyway knowing that this was his last opportunity to see her play. I was on :cloud9: as was Crystal when she saw him there. I hope that this paves the way for many more outings to come, including her graduation in 2 weeks.
Long story short, Dad fell on the ice December 19th and became a quadrapaligic. We brought him home from the hospital on Easter Sunday. He is learning to walk again (with a platform walker) but still struggles with trying to use his hands and of course there are digestive issues as well.
My Mom was not able to go as she was taking care of her 88 year old mom (that's my job tomorrow)
Tonights dinner is store marianted pork with a veggie and pasta salad, IF I am home from Dad's at a reasonable hour.

This was my Dad's first trip out in public since he came home. :cool1: :yay:

So sorry to hear about your Dad, but happy to hear he's doing well with his recovery! I'll keep him in my prayers.

WFD - Hamburger steaks, mashed potatoes and corn.

Morning all. Back from the wedding. It was a nice trip, but always stressful with that much family involved. That and I ended up flying home solo with my 2 kids (Long story, but DH got bumped to another flight--was supposed to be me) Had a night out at the ballpark with DH's company last night, so ballgame food, dogs, burgers, popcorn and beer. Tonight is a get together with my co-workers from the gym--and it's a potluck thing, so who knows what I'll be eating. Speaking of that, need to peruse the index and find a tasty side dish.

Laurie, So sorry to hear of your Dad's accident but glad that he is improving and starting to get out. What a great night you guys had!

Stephanie, Aimee's corn dish is really good and easy! :thumbsup2 Have fun later!
