I am so jealous. We have been discussing a new vehicle for me and the CRV was discussed DH loves them. I am between CRV, or Toyota or Honda caravans. We are car loan free right now on three cars, I hate to change that when nothing is wrong with my camry.

I only buy a car when it becomes absolutely necessary. I'd been driving a '97 Explorer which was near death so it's a special treat for me.

We had a wonderful visit with Lori and Rick. When you finally met face to face for the first time you worry about having nothing to say. need I say that did not happen. Alex and Rick were troupers they let us talk.

I'm so glad to hear you were able to get together with Lori & Rick. Sounds like y'all had a great time!!

WFD - Something on the run, got a game at 7:30 tonight about an hour away.

Hi All!

We lost last night... but it was a great year, Andrew had fun and most of all met alot of great people and learned alot. I cannot remember the score but it was like 13 - 5. The ump at the plate was horrible but we had some errors so can't blame him totally...

It is going to be very hot here today too. We may go to the pool that we joined for the summer. Tom may stay home. He is having issues with his arthritis.

I have wings marinating for later. Not sure of the sides but may have rice pilaf and some veggie or maybe just a salad. I also bought alot of cheese and stuff so we'll see.

I'm still not sure what Caili and I are having for dinner. I think we will eat someplace near where Liam's practice is. I paid $4.07/gallon for gas yesterday so I don't want to do too much unnecessary driving.

It's still in the high 3's here...the newspaper this AM said that we have the lowest prices around. I have not filled my tank in I do not know how long...

I've got a brand new set of wheels, I even got the exact color and interior that I wanted, its an SUV - Honda CRV-EXL.....

Yeah! Best of luck and enjoy it! I had CRV before my current car and LOVED it! Now, what color did you get? Does it still have the table that comes out of the trunk?

Looking forward to food porn. I take pictures and never seem to post, ugh!
I bought roasted red pepper this week....so annoyed here I am planning to make some and realize my food processor is history, on next years Christmas list.

Good luck to your neice!!! I have been wanting a food processor but keep putting it off for more important things. I also have to clean these messy closets to make room for it.

Burgers, dogs and salad today. It is Kady's recital day and she is in two shows. This should take most of the day and then a little cook out in teh sweltering weather.

Lauren Does A have a game today? for him too. How are you feeling? Have you started packing yet. I need to get the cases out of the basement to air out.

I am feeling fine...thanks! I have never had one symptom of my thyroid issue which is a good thing and the only side affect I have from the meds is bruising. I guess thats bad enough. I am a klutz and look beat up half the time from knocking into things.

I have not started packing but getting things together and shoving them in the closet. I still have to find a bathing suit. I may be wearing the ones I have...I did get my new Old Navy Ts...I them! Get new ones every trip...

My CRV is "Glacier Blue Metallic" kind of a bluish-gray. Yes it does have the cargo divider in the back, really neat. Something else it has that I've never had in a vehicle before is a moonroof.

I filled up for $3.81 yesterday. It got in the 90s a week or so ago, around Memorial Day, but went back down. STILL way too pricey but thankfully not as high as other areas.

My Shih Tzu is a huge momma's boy. DH keeps asking me why I want a baby since I already have one who is just furry He's practically attached to me when I'm home. I him.


Today is crazy. Have to drop the dogs off at the sitter, take the sitters out for lunch as a thank you, pick up rental vans for our trip tomorrow, drive 2 hours to a wedding DH is an usher in, wedding is at 730 so I'm assuming there will be something to eat?, drive 2 hours back, pack for our trip, pack the van, and get some rest before tomorrow. I packed most of our stuff last night so I'm chilling until DH gets home from his physical test for the FD.

Dinner will be whatever they have at the wedding or fast food on the way home if nothing is there. DH has to be there at 630 so we'll wait and see.

We leave tomorrow right after church for Austin - taking my 5th graders on their celebration road trip. I have a lot of cool stuff planned, including a canopy tour (zip line) through the Cypress trees. Can't wait!

Final playoffs are today. DN's team has one loss. They have to win today to play tomorrow for title. DN is so upbeat, boy it amazes me how pitchers handle the stress. I get more nervous than her.

Today, I have to finish grocery shopping, then game is at 2:30. Not sure what game plan will be for dinner...thinking burgers.

Forecast is predicting 90 here today, I am arming myself with sunscreen at the game.

Here's that Marinade ( I think it was listed as London Broil Marinade). It's easy & good! Good Luck to DN!!

Vietnamese Marinade by Lauren


1 cup Soy Sauce
1 cup Vinegar (any type...I like apple cider)
1 cup Sugar
alot of crushed garlic...at least 8, if not more

Mix together and marinate for a long long time!!!

Lauren & Kathy, Is there anything we can do with that? If Lauren has figured out which thread has original page # to page #, could we put that on the 1st page.? Am I making any sense here?

Hi all quick check-in myself,

I am so ticked, I went to the liquor store on my way home from shopping with DM. I bought DH his budlight and myself some Pinot. DH is off tonight so we decide to have a drink before dinner...I hand DH a beer as I am doing that I smash my wine glass into my open bottle of wine. The stem shattered and there were glass shards everywhere...needless to say my new bottle of wine went down the sink, and now I only have 5 of my favorite wine glasses left. Ugggggggggggggh...after that DH suggested delivered pizza!

Last night I made manicotti and garlic bread. No pictures because we were really hungry and it is hard to make things with tomato sauce on them look nice anyway.

John got back safely from China. He's not too jet lagged either. We'll see how he does as the day goes on. This is the view of Shangahi from his hotel room:

Tonight we are grilling. John is having a steak with blue cheese butter, and I am having tarragon-mustard marinated chicken. I'm also making grilled corn on the cob, and slicing up some tomatoes. I have not figured out the rest of the menu--maybe some grilled bread.

Vietnamese Marinade by Lauren

Mix together and marinate for a long long time!!!

If you want to try a different variation, grate in some fresh ginger, but do not marinade more than overnight or the meat will get mushy. Great flavor and will break down the toughest meat to make it tender.
